I agree about the clothes, it just feels weird that Shep is already out of bed and fully dressed at the end of the ME1 love scene. Maybe Shep is still just too set in her military ways, especially since they are in the middle of a mission. Still, I'm glad that in ME3 they get to wake up in bed together, without clothes... makes the scene so much better.
I do have an issue with the 'love of your life' part though... Goddess, I know I'm gonna get flak for this, but after I recently replayed some parts of ME1, including the pre-Ilos love scene and most of the Liara dialogues, I got the impression that Liara/Shep relationship at that point was a lot less serious, more casual, almost seemed like a 'there may be no tomorrow' type fling. Maybe I just got spoiled by the quality of Liara/Shep scenes in LotSB and ME3 (and even vanilla ME2), that far better convey the level of intimacy and affection between them...
I agree with you on both things. I'm not gonna say it felt like a "fling" in ME1, but it definitely doesn't feel like either of them is as committed to the other as they are in LotSB and ME3. Which, I think, makes sense, considering by both of those they have been together for a lot longer. I mean, there's a reason they never confess love until the end of ME3.
Shep already up and dressed in ME1, does have a lot to do with making it seem more casual, though, and like he's less invested. Like they had sex, and then that was it for him, he's moving on. Whereas in ME3, they have sex but then just fall asleep in eachothers arms, both still naked...Definitely more connection there.
