Something you may be missing is the fact that Traynor and Cortez don't get a lot of narrative time to be developed, since the narrative for ME3 is actually rather short. They have to happen rather fast and sloppily due to the limitations with the narrative being pretty swift. Liara gets 3 games worth of narrative, VS and ME2 LIs get 2 games, Sam and Steve get 1/2.
I don't really think it's done sloppily, just a bit too quickly.

What I would have liked to see Liara do better as the SB would have been that she provide you with locations of the War Assets that you find while scanning systems/planets. For example you go down and either talk to her or use the Broker Terminal and the message is something along the lines of "We have recieved reports of (insert War Asset here) located in (system) on (planet) need to send and agent to confirm". That to me would have fit right into the SB side of her character of providing you with some information but not telling you exactly what because she hasn't had the time or resources to confirm the report. That would leave you to take the Normandy out and either discover a War Asset or discover some false information by either the Reapers or Cerberus that was designed to distract you. If it was a false trail then you have the option to backtrack it to the source and distrupt enemy activities. I would have loved to see something like that in game but I think EA/BW rushed ME3 production so we were left with some holes.
Also @Ladyvader I absolutely love that awesome Tweety tattoo. It is so freaking cool!!!

Poker table used once = completely wasted potential!
I was just waiting for a game with the whole crew - I mean, Garrus challenged Shepard enough! Maybe even some minigame? Here's for Poker DLC.
I also love Liara's wine and Garrus' dextro-Blasto snacks.

Another then that, it almost seems like Liara is less and less the broker, and more of back to her Prothean Expert mode. And if that was the direction they wanted to go, then they should've never made her the broker. It would've been better if the Shadow Broker set his base to self destruct, and Liara downloaded all she could before it blew up. Then claimed the info hints of a Prothean weapon that could stop the Reapers, and that she needs to leave in order to investigate it (because let's face it, Shepard is flying the Normandy into suicide missions everyday, and this piece of info can't afford to be lost). Instead of making her the Shadow Broker, and then doing nothing with it.

Everyone falls for Shepard, it can't be helped. Shepard is Carmen to Traynor's Shane (hope you've seen the L word, otherwise that won't make sense).
I know Traynor says she plays for keeps, but that's not how she came across to me before she said that.

Well, to be fair, a lot of ME3 actually has to do with the Protheans, especially if you've got the 'From Ashes' DLC. The Crucible is believed to be a Prothean weapon, as well, and who has the most knowledge of the Protheans on Shepard's squad?
I think that since the galaxy is in a state of war, and the Shadow Broker is more of an information dealer than anything else, there's not that much for Liara to do. Certainly, she could have been the one to find out about Grissom Academy, for instance, but apart from that, most of her agents or whatever's left of them have all been probably assigned to do something to help thwart the Reaper threat. There aren't many secrets out there apart from the Crucible project, so it makes sense that Liara would want to help with it.
But I agree about the War Assets. Even with everything that's going on, Liara would still be able to get information about stranded ships, people or pieces of technology, and could relay that information to Shepard to deal with.

It's easy to understand why they had her flirting with EDI and Allers, since her romance happened so briskly, they needed a way to clue the player into her being available as a f/f LI. Works the same way in RL, I would have never known my gf was gay had I not heard her flirting with another girl we both know. This does happen this way and I don't think there's anything wrong with the way they did it in ME3.

Yeah I wish we could've done something like this with the whole crew. Just something to make them feel like a family rather then just shipmates. I can see it now, Traynor would be holding a good hand, James would look over, Steve would say to hell with it and hold and grab a beer. Garrus calling Shepard out, drunk Liara oh man those would be good times.
.......Sigh, what could've been

Because I can't find any real emotion from that relationship. She askes my Shep for a game, and then she leaves the WC's door open. And say one flirting line, and suddenly some Shep can't help herself and jump in the shower. That's just my opinion anyway, it must because I'm bias. If they had a game, and did some flirting outside of Shep's cabin, had time to build up the relationship, I would be ok with that.
Cotez romance is much better.

Flirts aren't always players, but it does seem to be another stereotype that they tripped over when trying to write a gay woman.

While Allers is actually a "fling" and not an official romance, Traynor is not a fling by any stretch.
You are basing your opinions and assumptionsoff of, what? You certainly don't appear to be a gay or bi woman to draw any experience from, so why do you call her f/f romance a fling? And as far as I have seen, you don't even really play as femShep, yet you are making some pretty biased statements. Please, enlighten us!

I almost think it would have been better to swap roles and make Cortez the Comm Officer and Traynor the pilot. Cortez had a very Felix Gaeta from Battlestar Galactica feel to him, a model officer with a strong sense of morals. While Traynor's voice actor was more upbeat and humorous, better suited to hot shot pilot with a sense of humor about everything.
Having her essentially just be Shepard's secretary seemed really predictable, like if we have to add another character we must firmly lock them in gender roles from the 20th century. But I digress.

I think I'm bi but I don't have any real experience with woman.
My canon shep is FShep  I tried to play Broshep once in ME3 and I haven't finished that playthrough.

Well if you go and compare Traynor romance to the larger romances in the game, for example Liara, it honestly looks like just a fling. There was some flirting and then you go straight to having a shower together. That's what happened in the game and talking about it is in no way an insult towards anyone.
Just because the relationship got started rather suddenly that doesn't mean it's a fling. There is nothing that says a serious relationship can't be started suddenly, especially considering the circumstances with the possibility of imminent galactic doom.
Edit: Oh, wait, this was a top...

Liara romance: spans 3 games
Traynor romance: spans .5 games.
Of course its rushed, it can't be anything other than rushed since there's nothing left of the narrative to allow for proper building of a relationship.
