There's a huge section in the mid-late game with not very much romance going on that left room for both.

Well, yeah, but you could say that about all romances.

Yep, that's why I understand how it can look like just a fling. To me it does, as it was way too fast for me.Sunnie22 wrote...
Liara romance: spans 3 games
Traynor romance: spans .5 games.
Of course its rushed, it can't be anything other than rushed since there's nothing left of the narrative to allow for proper building of a relationship.
Ruby has an opinion and voiced it out, I don't think that's enough to get all hostile over.

Just because the relationship got started rather suddenly that doesn't mean it's a fling. There is nothing that says a serious relationship can't be started suddenly, especially considering the circumstances with the possibility of imminent galactic doom.
Exactly. Remember, the ME1 romances have also been accused of feeling "rushed". Not a lot of time to develop != not serious.

If the game had another 6 months to a year in the dev cycle, that's likely to have happened, but there was barely enough time to get the game out as it was, and the game didn't even have a real ending at the 90 left point. Everything can be better given exponential amounts of time, but the hard truth is that there's always time and money limits to every production.Aristobulus500 wrote...

Now why is Traynor's relationship being discussed in the Liara thread?

And how is that any different from the romances in ME1 or 2? You talk to who ever it your LI is and bam scene in bed at the end of the game. I've done a romance with Traynor, I think it was done well. No different than talking to Kaidan/Ash/Liara in the first game. Or I don't think so anyway. So, she left herself to be watched while taking a shower. No biggie to me. And Traynor is not a fling. She tells Shepard before they go the Earth, she wants a house with a white picket fence with a dog and kids. Flings don't want to settle down and share their life.Arcataye wrote...

Aller's not worth to even talk about.
Besides, if I don't want to romance Traynor, I don't allow her in the shower. Normally, Shepard's LI is a few decks below.

Or be a perv, and allow Traynor to take the shower so you can watch her, and but don't step in, and reject her attempt.

This is true, but there's definitely a balance to be had between ME3's extremely rushed and cramped schedule, and being Duke Nukem Forever.
And ME3 was definitely on one extreme end of that balance scale.

So by your logic, in every conversation I have with my kids or gf, when the subject expands or shifts while discussing it, I should go to a different room in my house? Seriously?TMA LIVE wrote...

Traynor gets in Shep's bed too soon. It makes me feel rush. In ME1 Liara and Shepard have a serious conversation about their relationship, they decide to put it aside until the galaxy is saved. After that they get swept away in the storm, they support each other in difficult time and almost kiss. Before the final battle, they decide to show their love to each other. If not, Liara's romance is still imported to ME2ladyvader wrote...

I assume you're talking about the conclusion of ME1 romances in ME3 because purely romance wise there really wasn't that much content in ME1. There was the conversation where Liara admitted her feelings, the next one in which she explained how she wanted to try the mind melding (which she denied afterwards if Shepard questions it) and felt it was better to wait until the business with Saren was over, then the locker scene and actual romance scene. And perhaps the jealousy scene if you didn't outright tell Ashley you weren't interested in romantic involvement with her.
It might sound like a lot but it really wasn't all that much.

Hate to bring reality into the mix, but people in real life end up in bed together after meeting 20 minutes prior, some go on to being happy couples for 30+ years, so your point is rather invalid.rubynorman wrote...

Hey now, cut out the hostility both of you! There's nothing wrong with going a bit off-topic sometimes as long as it doesn't go too far, and if you feel it is getting too far off-topic the best way to deal with it is probably to ask a Liara-related question rather than trying to shut down an ongoing discussion. Let's stay friendly, shall we?

Ahh that scene. How awesome would it have been to interrupt that scene when Liara says to meet with Anderson after Joker blew their little moment.
Liara: "You should probably go meet with him"
Shepard: "In a minute. We're not done here yet..."
Liara: "Shepard... do you really think this is..."
Shepard: "No..." *kiss*

The stakes are nth degree higher than when they were hunting Saren. Shepard knows she could die any day. Just listen to Shepard's comments to Cortez and gets him to realize to live for today because there might not be a tomorrow. Now take that view and what happens between Shepard and Traynor makes perfect sense. Just about every talk with Traynor after the shower scene has a little more added to it if Shepard joined her.rubynorman wrote...

I'll be honest. Traynor's romance is better than an only ME3 romance of Liara which feels very awkwards when they talk on the Citadel to lock in the romance or just be friends.
I still have not done Kaidan's romance in ME3, using that Shepard for the run I am on. So far, Liara and Ash get the ME1 treatment while everyone else gets the ME2 treatment.

It's my country's culture. It is valid to me. I state how I feel about Traynor's romance compare to others. Especially Cortez , I bromance him and I feel more emotions than the shower scene with Traynor. I just said my opinion and expained why I feel that way. I don't try to convince anyone to feel the way I feel.Sunnie22 wrote...

Hm, I found this whole scene adorable (if Shep starts a new romance with Liara, not for faithful Shepards)
