I wouldn't assume that just because Aethyta said "ran off" that Benezia disappeared entirely from her life. Ex-partners often say their ex "ran away with" someone, but they could still be living very nearby. Benezia kept Liara from knowing about Aethyta, but that doesn't mean the converse holds true. After all, she does also say that she and Benezia were together for a century, so it'd be all but impossible to cut all ties due to shared friends/acquaintances.

I agree here a hundred percent. After what Shepard has done, I don't expect anyone to even dare ask him/her help with something that does not involve an imminent war, which I hope will not be happening. He/she has earned all the time in the world to simply enjoy the galaxy he/she just saved.

I think Shepard's story *having* to end with Shep's death would be a lot more reasonable and thematically appropriate if Shepard was just a soldier - no romance or anything, so that Shepard's entire purpose can be summed as "to champion the fight and war against the Reapers" - then, without the Reapers and war, Shepard no longer has a real purpose, and can be killed off satisfyingly. 

The problem comes in when you introduce romance. Especially deep, involved romance like with Liara - suddenly Shepard has a purpose beyond the war, a reason to exist. Further complicated because they actually discuss a post war future together! It's not just a fling to relieve stress from the war - Shepard and Liara actually intend to raise a family together - suddenly Shepard dying is no longer a satisfying conclusion, because it means such a sharp blow to Liara and what she wanted out of life, and the future - it's killing an entire future path in removing that family life Liara (and Shepard) wanted to do. This is because, when Liara's romance enters the discussion, Shepard is no longer merely a soldier, but is a lover to her and would-be father. 

In this case, Shepard's purpose as a soldier can be ended with the war, but since that is not all he is, his death is not appropriate. Shepard dying at the end of the war is only satisfying if a soldier is all he was.

Anyways, on the topic of asari names. I don't really see a pattern. Some are called T'something others are called Dantius or Thanoptis. Maybe T'Something is an asari equivalent for royalty? Like the German "von Something" or the British "of Something"? Just a thought! 


Anyone noticed that the human woman that wants to ship her daughter off to Thessia is still discussing with the asari clerk even after you completed Priority: Thessia? I found that rather lame...especially as it was all over the news that Thessia fell. So either they were discussing for the last few days and completely missed the news (yeah...very likely! <_< ) or it was an oversight from BW's side. In any way..it kind of took the drama out of the whole thing. At least for me. The asari with PTSD in the hospital is gone after the Spectre terminal decision on her case but it bugs me that the human mother-father is still there

Well yeah in the beginning I had the same reaction as you. Happy when the daughter got shipped off....sad when it became apparent that it was all in vain  But then I passed by there again and they were still talking 


I didn't give the gun to the huntress so I assume she got some more in-depth psych treatment in another hospital or something like that.. but yeah...if she kills herself she shouldn't be sitting around there anymore.

 So I'm just gonna throw some of my opinions on the convos from the last few pages out there

Personally i think that Liara and Shep would keep their last names and the children would have a hyphonized T'Soni-Shepard or vice versa.   I headcanon it that way.

As for the names ones that don't start with a T'(name) are Dantius, vasir, and Thanoptis.  personally i think it might have something to do with the region of Thessia you come from like you know that any human with a "O"/Mc in front of their last name is of a celtic heritage either Irish or Scottish, and most Irish and Italian last names end in vowels while Germanic and English last names normally end in consonants.   

For the culture thing I personally headcanon that both Liara and Shep will naturally begin to adopt parts of the others culture.  example My shep loves to cook so i can see him feeding Liara some human cuisine while also trying to learn Asari food.   and both would perhaps try and learn eachother's language although the translators might make that a moot point.

Also I third Akernis's and Aristobolus's desire for a thessia DLC:D

Indeed, even if the Thessia DLC is by far prefferred, any DLC where I can bring Liara will be appreciated, especially if she has new lines .

There are significant differences. You loose out on several pieces of romantic content that take place before you can start a new romance with Liara, and she is also more hesitant to tell Shepard "I love you."

TY, yea I loved coming up with how the whole family got along together, I especially enjoyed writing the interaction between shepard and her father
