Yeah, that's pretty much it.  Instead of fans of the series creating their own OCs to be placed in the universe we'd wind up with far too many people simply looking to blow **** up.  Or worse, there would be RPers who simply cannot divest themselves from the Shepard storyline, and would come up with some cockamamied contrivance about how their character was Shepard's long-lost cousin or Tali's sister's boyfriend or Liara's half-hanar half-sister.

Oh dear god the amount of people that would name their character some variation of Shepard *shudder*. Dear God please no ME MMO.

Yeah... that sounds familiar. <_< One of the main reasons I gave up on MMOs.

Quite a shame since I really would like to create an OC in the Mass Effect universe and interact with others.

Regardless of the genre of possible ME games, I'd love to see some set in either the Morning War, Krogan Rebellions or Rachni Wars, or at least feature scenes from them similarly to how we caught a glimpse of the war between the Reapers and Protheans on Eden Prime. Even though we know the outcomes of these and there wouldn't be as many twists and turns, I think there's potential there for expanding on them. Some of the stories we hear about them are really captivating that make me wish we could explore them more. And, as a bonus, we might be able to play as Matriarch Aethyta's mom and dad, see where Liara gets her urge to headbutt people from! :D

Edit: Or, of course, as I've mentioned my ideas before, a game that lets the player explore the Asari's history and culture further, with the ability to explore Thessia and Asari space. I don't recall any wars that they've waged on their own, though.

I have to say, I really do like neeh's stuff. Most of the gifs are very well done.
However, I find that neeh misses the mark a little at times, when the bodies are too static. Not saying the above animation isn't great, it's just a bit stiff..a little awkward...when it comes to the spacing and positioning of their bodies across the animation.

Though everything else is perfect and spot on.

Though I can't say I blame him. He still gets excellent results, and all the extra work to get a slight bit more love from me isn't really worth the effort :P

I'm honestly curious - what would you have them doing? They're supposed to be standing still, making out. Not lashing out or attacking you, it's just an interesting thought, and I'm not really sure how to visualize your criticism.

It's more that it just doesn't line up much with what I've witnessed and experienced. Well, it does, just not completely. Of course, it also is a shoulders up shot, so you don't get a glimpse at any movements underneath.

More or less, and this is just my personal experience talking, I rarely see shoulders remain that rigid, that static, while people make out. Mostly because people breathe, people adjust their bodies to lean in, they subtly shift closer, shift away, etc....it's just that despite the rest of the animation being really well done, it kind of lacks the body language I normally notice during makeouts. Even the calmest, most still makeouts like the one in the animation, you still see movement throughout the body. Even standing still and making out, there are always subtle shifts in body language reacting to the kiss, to each others' touch.

Like, once they ease in, there's really no body movement but their heads and Sheps hands. I know it's a lot of work to make animations seem real, I've modeled, rigged and animated before. I know how long it can take. Just, look at the brief shenes with Shep and any LI when they're touching each other. They're almost never static. Even though I couldn't help but laugh a little at the overdone animation Liara has (at times...the whole sway-like animation in Shep's quarters in LotSB, or when Liara tells Shep she'd be interested in "that list" in ME3) in ME2: LotSB and ME3, your body moves. Subtle, minor adjustments, reactions, and a lot of them happen instinctually(and it's hard to animate them, for sure), but they usually happen.

I just think that, from my personal experience, the shoulders are far, far too still. I just...I dunno. That's my take. Maybe my experiences are an outlier.

Ok so work was really slow today and I got bored and started writing and this is what i got.  Its a little scene with Shepard and Liara taking place a year after the war.  For some reason i kept thinking about the Liara cooking skills convo we had a while back in here so it became the focus of the piece.  Either way here's "Dinner" http://moreeman06.de...inner-302333220

Also can someone tell me whether bondmates has a space or not, I don't think it does but i'm wrong I'll have to change that.

This is really sweet. I loved how you also included a bit of joining between Shepard and Liara. And I can totally see her fail at cooking with all the time spent either as an archeologist or an information broker. And it was a human dish she was trying to prepare, after all!

And yes, bondmates doesn't have a space.

I thought that was great :D. and Yes I dont believe there is a space in bondmate, I admit I have a few random post ME3 scenes knocking around my head, one in particular where everyone gets together for dinner and my shep shocks everyone with an evening gown, perhaps after I finish my backstory fanfic Ill give that one a go .

This is off-topic but I just read the codex entry for the Crucible, and it actually says that the technology required to build mass relays is a part of it. So, since they managed to build the Crucible, building mass relays should be possible. Just thought I'd share that since it means less of a messed up galaxy after the destruction of the relays. I'm still keeping some hope for the EC. Never really had that much ofa problem with the relay destruction anyway since that's something that can be solved. Let's just hope the EC fixes the big issues yes? Some Liara reunion and some Reapers making sense.

thanks you guys.... guess i dodged a bullet there.   and yeah that was the general consensus on our convo a while ago, that Liara couldn't cook while our shepards could do so to varying degrees (Tiberius for example loves to do it and is quite good).    I'm glad you liked it :)  and now its time for me to eat dinner

Thanks. Honestly atm its not so much "not rushing" as "getting to work on it". The RL stuff I mentioned earlier is kinda messing things up and I don't have the energy.

B (what I would have wanted), let this Citadel AI use the image of your LI.
They clearly wanted with the dreams and the child in the beginning, to create a emotional connection for the avatar in the end.
Why
not use the LI as an avatar? People are super attached to them. On the
other hand, I often asked myself if BW created ME3 more with the new
audiance in mind and didn't focus too much on the people who played both
games.
I don't know.

Oh wow that would have been powerful.

That said still a god-awful ending plot. *facepalm*

Seeing as how far BW has dropped...I think you can guess our reactions.

This pretty much. At the very LEAST I'd be very skeptical. And odds are I'd just flat out avoid it to prevent being hurt all over again or bringing back memories of the pain of the ME3 ending. Not to mention that we probably wouldn't get all the characters we love anyways. :-(

"They really should just write off the current ME3 as non-canon and completely do it over from scratch."

I wish to **** they would do this. I don't really understand why companies seem to feel they only get one shot at a game - I think an "ME3 Take 2" could really make a ton of money, still. It'll never happen but man I wish they would.

I really wish they could. Release some kind of Mass Effect 3: Perfect Edition. Not just redo the ending, but also improve on other aspects of Mass Effect 3 that were flawed - such as the lack of choice acknowledgment, specifically whether you saved or destroyed the Collector Base (that could be tied in the new ending).

I'm more mad that for one reason or another they felt compelled to release the game so early and rush it out. Since it's the end of a trilogy, one would expect that more development time would have been put in it. I believe that BioWare would have made a much better job if they were given more time to do so.

True and true.

What I would have liked would include (and yes this is likely beyond what would be reasnnable but hey it would more closely resemble a "perfect" game, for me at least):

General Stuff
- Allow for more Military Assets so it is actually possible to get a perfect ending without having to play MP.
- Several "small" missions on Thessia before the reaper attacks where in addition to whatever we have to do to rally Asari support gets time to explorer and learn about them.
- Make the "Fall of Thessia" mission on par with the Tuchanka one in quality.
- Explain what the Beacon actually meant for the asari instead of just "they may or may not have been able to access it and they might have become so good by using it" so it doen't come across as just one big "oh look how bad the asari are" kind of thing.
- Give the oppotunity to either help the asari or Thessia itself rather than simply abandoning them all to their fate.
- Make the Reapers more menacing like thery were in the second and especially the first, rather than just a bunch of machines as ensalved to this pattern as the organic races. Drop that "we are actually saving you from youselves" we get in favour of Sovereign's far more intimidating message.
- Make the choice Collector Base choice actually matter. Does it even matter  beyond whether you salvage the Reaper heart or brain from Chronos Station?.
- Reduce Cerberus' pressence in the game in favour of the Reapers.
- Remove the child from the dreams, the whispers were well and good but the kid quickly spoiled the effect, at least for me.
- No one either doing or after development mentions the words "Artistic Integrity" or "Clarification". At all.

Ending (yes this one get one entirely for itself)
- Completly rewrite the ending.
- Loose the Starchild, don't even try to improve upon it just drop it.
- Give Habinger a larger role in the ending
- Drop those various RBG endings.
- Make the various ending depending on you EMS more directly (so many dies from each of the races depending on their EMS, the number of Reapers destroyed outright depending on the Crucible's completion, and the state of the various worlds and colonies depending on how well you did all in all.).
- Allow endings of various states of the "bittersweet" spectrum from bitter (most races suffering cripling blows to their population, the homeworlds practically destroyed, squadmates and even *gulp* LI dead) to actually sweet (while damaged the homeworlds will recover, the various races has taken losses but will live through it with their heads held high, the various teammates and you LI surviving and well).
- The Normandy and you squad stays with you.
- The Mass Relays stays intact.
- A satisfying final thing to do (preferibly a boss fight involving Harbinger in some way in my book).

Romance (this will be primarily Liara oriented since I haven't, nor plan to, play with any other LI)
- More romance in general (yeah I am spoiled, but I want more of my favourite stuff)
- Let your romance be acknowledged by others.
- No friendzoning, allow the romance to be locked at the beginning, if people really want to be break up with Liara they can damn well have the guts to do it on their onw initiative.
- Have some more romance oriented scenes in the mid-game.
- Have some of the various scenes with Liara recognise that the two of you are in a romance (the Time capsule for example, it was sweet but a simple head on shoulder would have done wonders).
- After Thessia actually comfort Liara, if people just wants her to get over it and make her go back to work they can do so but dear goddess let the paragon interrtupt allow Shepard to simply sit down beside her and embrace her, possibly with the sceen fading to black afterwards.
- Do not mention (for those who does not want them) but leave open the possibility of Little Blue Children.
- Happy and sweet Shepard - LI reunion at the end.

Wow that got far longert han I had anticipated, guess the game wasn't as finished as I thought it was.
I know I have forgotten something but I can't quite remember what... oh well.

Sorry for the long list, I just wanted to get this out now I had oppotunity Image IPB

Yeah, I really have to agree with all of that Akernis. And for Thessia, as you say in fleshing it out - make it have an entire arc involving Liara too, just like Tali/Legion were involved in Rannoch and Mordin/Wrex were involved in Tuchanka.

Thessia really stands out as lacking here, not only is it a single mission, but you get no choices at all and nothing changes, whereas Rannoch and Tuchanka can play out incredibly differently based not only on your choices before you even get there but what you do once you're there. Absolutely none of that is present on Thessia.

Should allow for more interactions with Liara there, more to do on the planet, with an entire that comes to a head with the Reaper invasion and the Beacon, wherein your choice is about helping the Asari and Thessia, or turning against them and leaking the Beacon or something like that.

Or even come up with some other type of choice, scrap the beacon, and think of something else that would involve Liara more closely, that she could be more invested in and have a stronger attachment to one choice over the other, so not only is it a moral choice, it's something that makes sense to be "stand with Liara or don't."

^Havn't seen that picture before. reminds my of a thing that I have been wondering, why does Liara's skintone change so radically in various lighting? in some scenes she seems nearly grey while in others (the one where she wakes up besides Sheaprd in the romance comes to mind) she is vividly blue.

It's just the way her skin reflects lighting. It's really interesting to see, but it does mean she's very sensitive to certain lighting combinations, more so than pretty much any other character - the right lighting can really draw out her skins color and make her almost glow a very vibrant blue, the wrong one can make her look a pale, ill, sickly looking grey or even greenish.

If the rumors are correct, we'll likely see a multiplayer map on Thessia.

But I am not sure how this will make sense story wise (maybe Liara uses her SB ressources to recruit vorcha who defend Thessia now:lol:)
