Sad to say I read the whole thing just for posterity. My reaction was, Image IPBImage IPBImage IPB "Oh for the love of..... I can't even respond to this post because its so stupid". Do people really have nothing better to do with their time? I guess now we see the downside to Walters "speculation for everyone" idea...Image IPB

Love her no matter what. Problem solved.

But seriously, I stopped clicking on the IT threads because I knew they'd get out of hand one day. Looks like it's finally happened.

Yep.

Hopefully people will get bored soon, and stop making those repetitive threads. I'm not even sure what they're hoping to achieve; I can't see BioWare making a "Get Rid of Liara" DLC anytime soon.

Anyway. My fanfic profile is in my sig. On-going FemShep/Liara story for anyone who's interested. It's not the norm, and neither is my style. Hopefully the hate threads will die down some time soon.

Actually just finished reading the 8 chapters about 5 minutes ago.

Really well done renegade Shep. Some definite changes in plot progression, but you keep people in character (outside of small creative changes that help progress plot and character dev, of course).

I really like the internal conflict in your Shep. Don't see that kind of thing too often, at least expressed so well. Frustrating as hell to read Shep's thought process, and at times I feel like I'm missing something, but it's all enjoyable. A fun read :)

Regarding your feedback; thank you very much. You shed some light on a lot of flaws in my piece that I didn't notice. Hopefully I'll take this into consideration when writing my next piece. And yes, about Liara's diction, I totally overlooked that, unfortunately, it may be because I rushed it; wrote the thing in about three hours. So yeah, I should take more time when writing, and unfortunately, I didn't have any Beta readers, and all my class-mates are worse than I am ( I'm already sub-average, to begin with. ) But thanks for your help, and I should try to improve my grammar and sentence structure. As for the kiss scene, I wasn't descriptive or didn't go in-depth because it was awkward even writing this segment, I don't know why. And lastly, I've tried separating the sentences, so they're easier on the eyes and not as condensed. Thanks for taking the time to help. <3

I think if I ever get around to make a new playthrough of ME3 I am stopping the time that Liara is on-screen. And then I am stopping the time that any other person is on screen (Garrus, etc) and THEN I make a fancy plot and we'll have scientific proof if there is too much screen time or not. <_< I would say that Hackett and Anderson have more screen time than Liara but hey...who would complain about that.

I can understand the IT people for clinging to their idea because it is one way of keeping your sanity as the ending is even below subpar. But the Liara haters really don't have any reason to continue the same thing the entire time. It's not that Liara's presence left you hollow or depressed or whatever reaction the ending provoked.

There's no point in honestly trying to rationalize their behavior or thoughts, Erenbe. They are spiteful, jealous, and most of all, wrong. Liara isn't Bioware's Golden Girl and we all know ME3 is completely unfair to her, too. All of the LI's and romances aren't what they should be, Liara is no exception. We have proof of this straight from an employee's mouth.

The Liara haters will never listen, though. They do not want to be wrong. About Liara, about what Bioware thinks of her, about how under-appreciated their LI's are, none of it. Because they want a reason to **** and moan and sling **** at Liara and her fans.

So don't get stressed out or worried about trying to change their minds. You can't. Just ignore them, or laugh at them. They are clowns for your amusement.

You think I'm going to type up a thesis about how horribly wrong that guy is, with his post about Liara indoctrinated? **** no I'm not. I certainly could, but I won't. Because I know I'm right, and he's wrong, and he wouldn't hear a single word I had to say. There's nothing to be done with people like him except laugh at how absurd it is and then move on.

Yeah, I know. It's too sad though. Logical argumentation is such a nice thing....but it has the big disadvantage that it is completely useless when talking to an idiot! :?

Well, I might still make a screen time plot...simply for the sake of plotting something because I like that. Comes with the job :D

To stray away from the disgusting topic of Liara haters....here's something I've been thinking about recently.
After melding frequently and after Liara exclaiming that Shepard is her bondmate do you think that Liara can "sense" Shepard's presence if he/she is nearby? Not sensing in the "yay let's read your thoughts" telepathic kind of way but more like an awareness. Like Liara can feel Shepard's mind if Shep is close. I don't mean the complete awareness when melding with the other person and intertwining their minds but more like a tingling feeling at the edge of her mind that tells her that her bondmate is close?

When seeing Neeh's "London rubble" gif I alwasy ask myself how Liara was able to find Shepard in the pile of stones and debris...well, she could of course search for hours in that area but wouldn't it be great if she could locate her because she's aware that Shep is nearby? It wouldn't work like a radar of course but maybe it can give her a hint on where to look?

That of course would totally ignore the whole "Normandy on a beach trip" episode. I just assume that Liara and squadmate 2 did not run away or were magically teleported. In my little world Liara and James (whom I had with me at that point) stayed back when Shepard started running towards the beam because some cannibals, husks, etc came from behind and attacked. They had to take care of these creatures first and bunkered down in the overthrown transporter they came in. Shep did the Citadel adventure and managed to take the beam back down to Earth when everything was falling apart. And that's where Liara will be able to find her again. That's just my idea of wrapping my head around that atrocity that is the ending

I don't know if Asari can do that, but I'd totally buy that they can. That a total melding like that, so deeply connects them to the other person, that a small part of them remains behind even after the melding ends, and it allows them to retain a small connection.

There's already some evidence for things of this nature, in Shiala and the Zhu's Hope colonists still having some of that Thorian's powers connecting them even after the Thorian is dead. So I could believe that Asari can do that.

But I'll go a bit further and say I don't think it happens with *everyone* every single time they do a mind meld at all - I think the melds have scales and the Asari can choose deeply and intimately they want to meld with the other person, and of course the other person gets a say, too and can reject the Asari if they don't want to meld or the Asari is trying to go too deep.

I'd say the deeper and more intimate the meld, the more likely a connection of that sort will be formed, allowing them things like to tell when the other is near, and as Liara says, she could tell Shepard was really him when she touched him again - this could also be said to be because of the Joining.

Ehhh I would prefer not. Feels too much like space magic if Liara could suddenly sense Shepard's presence.

Yes*. (*May or may not apply to your headcanon, void in Nebraska and where prohibited.)

Liara had felt Shepard's group enter the battlefield proper. She had been saving her resources for this moment, and while her connection to her lover was far from precise, it was good enough for Coats to call the strikes, whether to destroy or to distract, trying to keep Shepard safe.

Liara smiled a small private smile remembering when she had first told Shepard about being able to feel her from afar for some time after a melding. Shepard teasing her about seeing a floating trail of hearts – and then drawing the confused asari a little 'heart' to show her what she actually meant. Liara's smile widened a little, recalling that she had remarked the symbol really rather looked like another part of anatomy altogether and where the conversation had gone from there.

Yeah and replying to that thread just feeds the haters and bumps the thread back to the top.

It's seen in many fanfics. For example in one of them Shepard felt Liara wake up (they were in the same room). It was described much better in some else and with better use, but I can't recall them right now. No mind reading or anything like that, like you said. But some kind of a connection.
I believe they have that.

So here's a thought I had, Liara having too much screen time is like trying to say Shepard had too much screen time... oh wait a minute, they're both some of the most important characters in the game... and you don't even have to take one of them on every mission with you(which I do anyways cause a biotic and an Infil work miracles together). Admitedly one of them is the main character of the game but still.
As for the thread about the Liara IT, a couple of things, 1) I'm getting that he's yet another Liara hater, just trying to stir the pot, 2) How does he equate the fact that when an Asari's eyes go black to Indoc? It's always been mind melds, not *creepy eery space music a`la Twilight Zone) Indoctrination...
