I've always joked that my week does not start until there is a negative thread created for either Ashley or Liara. Those two get knocked around and the sad part is that it is pot meeting kettle.

Liara fans jump on the Ash hate threads and write unfair & nasty things about her while the Ash fans do that to Liara. It's sad. I don't even look at threads that have a hate topic anymore.

It's not the OP that upsets me so much as the followup posters. I'll see names of peeps that on their "love" threads are so cool and positive and there they are writing such ugly things about another character ... it just creeps me.

Don't feed any of the hate threads is my motto even if you agree with the hate.

EDIT: TOP ... and back by unpopular demand!

People from here are posting on hate threads for Ashley? That's sad to hear. :?

Also. Please don't ever post that picture again. :pinched:

^ Agreed, on both accounts.

Heck, Liara always makes me want to be Shepard. ^_^

@ PMC: Agreed. I never open a Hate thread if I can possibly avoid it, though that might not be a particularly impressive feat since I don't actually leave this thread for the rest of the forum unless to check on possible news.

It is a shame that people even feel the need to bash other characters Posted Image especially squadmate who have their own fanbase that actively loves that character.

There are several characters that I dislike or "love to hate" and occasionally I hate what a character does in a particular scene but I have no desire bash them about that.

The only character that I actually hate with a passion is the Starchild and to be honest I would rather just try to forget about it.

**** you do not post "ironically" bad "art". That's an abyss we don't want to stare into. It's ruined countless other threads, don't ruin this one.

It's not funny, it's just disgusting, and not something you want to see every time you browse a page of this thread. Please edit that picture out - if you want to make a thread about mocking terrible fanart, by all means do *that*. Link that thread here, and post all those terrible pictures and mock them *there*.

I might even be up for that! I just don't want that garbage in this thread.

Ah too bad its just a game. Wouldn't life be more interesting if ME were true.

Then enjoy being possibly fried by a giant robo cuttlefish space ship.

Sorry I should of specified, yes definately ME universe without the Reapers either with them never having existed or after they are destroyed and the galactic civilizations have been rebuilt. Come on its my dream stop screwing with it you mean mean people.

Yes, indeed -  I can only imagine how awesome a mere walk through the Presidium would feel, much less getting to visit places like Thessia and being able to talk with Asari. Not to mention owning a spaceship and flying through open space, gazing at the infinite stars as you're circling around them and having the freedom to explore the galaxy at will... Oh, come on, find those Prothean ruins on Mars already so we can get going!

I am so in on this idea Posted Image

Though if I ever met an Asari in real life, especially one like Liara I probably would become scarlet, frozen to the spot and not be able to get a word out beyond something lame like "you are a pretty colour" Posted ImagePosted Image

Ahh Purgatory here we come! Or flux...

Ahahaha oh god PMC, you need to post complimentary brain bleach with those types of images rofl.  Ashley vs Liara sumo - which im sure happens everyday here on BSN when it comes to our own ego's when defending or attacking a fictional character and forgetting that golden rule of respecting one another - which Ill admit is a rather disgusting display at times...so i guess the image is rather fitting in that regard.  (i may not like other characters, i may have pages of analyzed data of why i dont like a chracter, but i fail to see sense in posting all of it when its only my own opinion/interpretation and would openly insult people who do care about said char - seems like a d-bag move)

@ Aristobulus500 -
Relax.  I hardly see the Liara thread and it's civilized and mature people/atmosphere being brought down by a grotesquely hideous but also meaningful humorous picture or two (this one has a point behind it i find so its
acceptable, teh true ugliness of char vs char threads right there in simplistic markered glory without a need for words!  Mockery of fanart? not so much.), it hasn't before - it won't now, we're not ignorant or oblivious to the fact bad and immature, meaningless picture spamming has ruined threads before (quote: Aint what you do, its the way that you do it).  Give the regular liara poster's some credit.  (i was half surprised we didn't get a waved finger for the constant pic spam of custom msheps a LONG while back or you know the happy 1000th celebration pic spamming - no meaning behind any of them, no points being made just straight spamming)
Anyways - Joker said it best, "comedy isn't about being nice, sometimes it's a way to air out the ugly things people think."
I for one found it hilarious, but then again i was the one who posted a distracting sexy banshee image awhile back - so maybe im alone in my twisted humor here :pinched:

moving on..man those hater threads, probably the most clear and disgraceful examples of speculative nonsense and desperate straw grasping the world has ever seen that rivals only the indoctrination theory itself, although some ill give points for creativity (spiteful but still creative! - that liara indoctrinated thread posted a few back was quite hilarious, it needs work)...Anyways.. what's that quote...it always comes to my mind everytime i feel the urge to post in one of their threads but always refrain, "Don't argue with an idiot, they'll drag you down to their level and beat you with experience." aka dont feed the trolls.  Or theres aria's quote, "I don't have time for hate, but i distrust them all equally."

I do agree with you, I really don't see the point in hate threads at all. They are nothing more than people flaming a character and insulting the fans of that character. I try not to get involved, but sometimes I just can't help it in the Liara threads.

Edit: That said, I really do dislike Jacob...

Heh i don't really mind jacob, though I suppose people who romanced him do :pinched:. Though I know my shep was not amused by his comment about the normandy being my true love. Trust me jacob getting on Eve's bad side is a very bad idea.

all depends on how you roleplay - i didn't mind the normandy love comment. I do develop attachments to inanimate objects and could see my soldier Shep doing the same, i almost saw Shepard and the normandy grudgingly ''sharing a soul'' so to speak - i mean it dies so does shep, both rebuilt by cerberus, it crashes on an alien planet..shep lies battered and broken in unknown locale ruins - weird how their fates sometimes seem intertwined like that (omg synthesis would make that relationship so awkward ^.o). Its not the same type of love shep shares with liara, so i guess the ''ONLY'' part of jacobs statement is a bit inaccurate but still like most of ME3's flaws I try to ignore it and mentally insert my own head canon statments in...my shep loves that ship. lol and Liara knows it, respects it even, in my headcanon she frequently attempts to make harmless fun of said attachment.

I never minded that statement ... It's a way of saying that Shepard is married to her job (Normandy). As someone who is always being called a "workaholic" it was taken simply as that and nothing more.

And the fact that both Shepard and Liara do put their relationship secondary to everything from stopping the reapers to the collectors to the shadow broker ... his comment is okay and really accurate to date. Now once the reapers are stopped and Bioware no longer has final say in what your Shepard does then you can "divorce" Normandy and move in with (put your romance here).

Heck, alot of people have said that their Shepard runs off with Liara in the Normandy and right wrongs in the galaxy ... so I guess they get that threesome after all. Posted Image

Well, if you do Liara's romance scene, the dialogue with Javik (I think, before Cerberus HQ) and the 'gift' scene on Earth: you know who Shepard's love is.

Jacob's scene is just a generic line to fit any Shep (who is 'uncommitted' to anyone at that point and may not even be romancing anyone). And I don't think you see Shepard agree with the 'you can't, you won't' part. I think Shepard can and will, once this war's over.

Aside: I just noticed, for the first time, how Liara puts emphasis on 'bondmates' in the gift scene on Earth. The pause and the smile. That being said, it killed me playing through the romance scene and the goodbye again. :crying: God dammit, BW, I hope you fix all this with EC!

Well the last hate thread about Liara being indoctrinated, made perfect sense to me. But on the other hand, I'm totally drunk. LoL
I take a chill pill now and dream of Liara with a Claymore. That would be so epic.
I have to try to mod that game again, so I can play Liara like in ME2. ^.^

Can you be so certain PMC? Have you not noticed the similarities between the dark ritual and Liara's romance scene in ME3? Perhaps Bioware is trying to tell you something hmm? :bandit:
