How does this play?

Ha! Liara can be a bit of a itchbay sometimes. She was also pretty good at pressing Ashley's buttons in ME1 if Shep persues them both. Liara can be pretty manipulative when she wants to be.

To be fair to Liara in that scene, Tali starts it and is trying to shame and humiliate her. Liara is just standing her ground.

That would be my opinion as well.

To be fair Liara was not being malicious towards Ashley, she was simply being scientific. Which Ashley, being a more emotional person did not take kindly.

True. I don't mind her actions, and I will be blunt and say that in that scenario I have little sympathy for Tali.

Actually, doesn't Tali say the same thing if there isn't any antagonism between them? Maybe the intonation is different. But I took Liara (romanced) on my last femshep run and I'm pretty sure Tali says the same opening line. I don't think Liara mentions any intel though. And I don't see anywhere in that vid that Tali is pushing her buttons, but maybe that's just me. I think Liara is just playing with her (with different intentions based on how the romances are).

That is one thing that irritated me in ME3. Their is no cat fighting in a situation where female shepard chooses Garus over Liara.

I will never understand why people hate Renegades so much. I got a kick out of killing Wrex because it was well written. It came across as a situation you would come across in a war.(Renegade Shep really shines in ME3 and is far less emo.)

And I wouldn't join hold the line  even if you paid me.<_<

Is this referring to the airlock conversation for the Geth dreadnought? What did Tali say? I have no makeShep..

Yes the first part is referring to the Geth dreadnaught, I have not tried it in-game but you can watch it on youtube, the link to it is qouted at the top of the page.

The second part is referring to the "cat-fight" between Liara and Ashley in the first game.

I loved renegade.  Most of it.  Killing shiala in one and samara and her daughter in 3 was a little...extreme even for my shep and made that line between human and monster a little blurry.  Granted that kind  of ''merciful'' action goes against my RP for the char but alas...I just can't do it lol  Ill blame liara's influence for those freak few paragon choices because I simply just didn't agree with the line or action...
And ugh don't get me started on hold the damn line - just don't.

I like renegade too, my canon Shep is largely on the renegade morality. Though she's more of the "Starbuck" style smartass with occasional bouts of bad attitude and being overly emotional.

Is 'hold the line' the same as the 'retake' movement? i.e. the 'change the endings' movement?

I never got why people still cling to that, post-EC announcement. I think energy is better spent trying to ensure BW make the best EC possible, rather than ****ing, hating and keeping up with the demands for change (not saying all of them do this).

Yeah, this is what I'm getting at. It's not cheapening the relationship she had with Shepard at all, it's about Liara not torturing herself for the rest of her life because of it. And it's not that I think other relationships will hold up to Shepard's, but, as Theo says, love is love, and sometimes it just happens. It's cruel and selfish to ask Liara to never love again after Shepard's death - think about the timespan, that's 700-800 years you are asking Liara to remain alone.

I mean, do you think Cortez's relationship with his husband was cheapened because he can move on? I don't at all - and what I'm talking about is a situation almost exactly like that - it's all about Shepard not wanting Liara to make him an anchor.

I wasn't saying that my Shepard would say she doesn't want Liara to move on, what I was saying was that I don't think Liara would be interested in finding someone else, at least not as their relationship looks in my (main) playthrough. Sure, she might fall for someone, but I think it is unlikely because of the nature of her relationship with (my) Shepard. For me her future will be more like what I described previously. I think it would be perfectly possible to have a good life anyway. Two centuries with Shepard is a long time (that's roughly the time I'm going with), and having a close family can mean a lot.

I'm with Tyranniac in this too.

Looks like I missed a lot of Liara's lines in ME2 ^_^I choose the paragon lines most of the times:P but I din't miss " I couldn't let you go"

I admit I couldn't kill Samara, Shiala or Ashley. (Yet I had no problem killing Kaidan...)  Otherwise I mostly always pick Renegade.

Paragon always came across as a naive pansy.(, I mean look  at what destroying Maelons data did.)

Unless you go pure paragon (and I don't understand why anyone would go 100% either way) that's just not true.

Also, destroying Maelon's data is the renegade option. They switch places after Mordin talks a bit more.

Ashley came across as over emotional in that scene for sure, but I feel like that's exactly what Liara was going for. Ashley was obviously annoyed and Liara said things to get a reaction from her. That way Ashley comes across as an emotional crazy lady and Liara comes across as understanding. Maybe I'm reading too much into it though.

I did nearly poo my pants when Wrex turned up on the Citadel looking pissed. Felt guilty for shooting Mordin, not so much for shooting Wrex. Loved it when Shep tries to convince Wrex "I helped you find your family armour" its nice to see Shepard can't talk her way out of every problem. My latest Shep had Ashley kill Wrex on Virmire, I found that pretty entertaining, but really I was just setting things up for ME3 so I could save Mordin.

Paragon Shep comes across as an idealistic prig, I find it difficult to play as her now. I've not played ME3 as a paragon yet. My canon Shep is mostly renegade and my newest Shep was neutral (so happy that isn't punished in ME3). To me ME3 isn't ME3 unless Shepard has shot an old friend. I like that Shepard has to do a lot of things she isn't proud of if she wants a chance to win the war.

This is sweet.  'Awww' factor of many,  Liara pushing the pram makes me broody haha.  What's your virtual blue baby named? ^^

Edit: quick think and I'd suggest to Liara we name our 1st Benezia.  In honour of her mother, and then I could also call her 'Nezzie' :)

Got it. Posted Image  Unlikely to see that 'cat-fight' though. hehe. No interest in playing a maleShep.

As for renegade / paragon, I tend to be blue all the way, with just the tiniest red ; headbutting Uvink and pushing that mercenary out of the window. Posted Image  Not much red in ME 1 (actually, none at all), same spnrinkling for ME 2 & 3. I did shoot Udina btw.
