I'm glad you folks liked the fanfic. Anyhows, with the help of a friend of mine, I've made some vast improvements to the text this morning as well (probably not a good idea to post something at night without proof-reading it utterly beforehand). It should be better now.

I saw that a few pages back. When is that quote, and I'm assuming Shepard says it? Its an awesome quote if its from Shepard about Liara. I never ran into it!

Yeah, Akernis. That artist just can't handle Liara's face, but (she?)'s clearly very talented and can do everything else very well. Even Fem Shep there doesn't have a messed up face...it's just Liara.

kind of sad they so overtly confirmed her as liara's dad, i prefer some things not interconnected so tightly in a big galaxy.

Ok, so it seems I can't even avoid Liara haters on twitter anymore, let alone the rest of the forum.
Maybe I should just hide in here forever.

Does anyone have any links to some fanfics with Liara and Shep? Preferably MaleShep if possible. I've read a bit of some, and would love to read more. Reading them just makes me happy. Just skimmed through "The Importance of Words", and it was sweet. Would love to read more like that.
Faces are one the hardest things to draw in general, and one the easiest places to make mistakes, especially if you are drawing a character that people know how should look, like Liara, rather than an original chaarcter.Aristobulus500 wrote...
Why are so many people so bad at drawing faces, yet they can make the armor look decent?

In addition to those MShep stories mentioned (which I have strangely never seen before, might take a look) there is Moreeman's various stories (Daddy's Little Girls, Little Monsters, Then and Now, One Last Date, and Dinner. Liara also has a prominent in his Remembering).

And I am working on an alternative ending fanfic (chapter one linked in my signature) that while not directly about Liara & Shepard does feature Liara prominantly as my Shepard's LI.

But you have to admit, it's not the worst place to be stuck in. ^.^

Are people posting Liara hating tweets to Bioware employees?

No, just general hating.

I have been wondering though - are those wordcounts on fanfiction.net right? Because if they are, then according to google and ms word, some of these stories are shockingly long. Both PMC's stories (and the second one seems like it's not even half-way through), at >130k words, are on-par with The Return of the King and Melaradark's Dark Energy 2 is as long as A Storm of Swords. Can that be right?

While we're on the subject of fanfics, I think some of you might find FanFictionDownloader useful.

Don't know what's the difference on Kindle and such as I don't have them, but the HTML download is very nice.
I don't feel like spending 70 ~ 500 € just to read fanfics so I'm sticking to my LCD monitor, can't read longer fics because of that tho...

Well, I now tried converting some of the stories to pdf instead of mobipocket format and they really do come in at some hefty page counts - A Thessian's Whisper is 170 pages, Dark Energy (the first part) is 236 and Dark Energy II a whooping 555. But that's using a really tiny typeface, to small to read comfortably on anything smaller than A4/letter sized paper and way smaller than what is used in printed books. The pdf comes with over 70 lines per page, about twice what you get in books, and there's consequently also more words per line. If printed, I would guess that the page count would be doubled at the least!Akernis wrote...
That sound somewhat over the top, that is the equivalent of a 2-300 page book or something along those lines. Are you sure it dosn't count signs, as in individual letters, rather than words?
If it does counts signs than that would be around 30 or so pages which seems considerably more realistic.
Though I will have to admit I have not read them so can't judge how long they are.
Nice link, bookmarked for future use. Hm, I wonder if I can download .mobi files from FLAG directly from the Kindle's built-in browser... but I guess that would be just to convenient to actually workArcataye wrote...

I understand not wanting to waste $ on an e-reader just for fanfics, but if you do a lot of reading in general, I can't recommend it enough. I just find the Kindle a lot more convenient than printed books, especially with 500+ page books. And without it, I probably never would have gotten around to reading any of the 100k+ word fanfics, which I can already say would have been a shame.
