On the matter of LotSB:
I like the fact that the game allows you to decide when you want to go after the Broker - leaves more room for replayability and roleplaying. I've done it both ways - before and after the SM, and either way it's undoubtedly one of my most favorite, if not the most favorite mission in the Mass Effect trilogy.
For me personally, however, it makes more sense to do the LotSB after SM - it acts as a kind of a bridge between ME2 and ME3. That's probably because I originally played it after the SM when it was released and I got accustomed to doing it in that time period. I can't say why specifically, and it sounds silly, but the mission
does feel different before and after SM.
I feel like doing it after SM because it adds to the adrenaline even more: You know that the Reapers are coming, you've faced the worst they've thrown at you back at the Collector Base, and you know that you have no time to spare, but you do so with Liara anyway - helping her with the Shadow Broker and rekindling her romance at such a point has more impact for me personally - because now both her and Shepard know what is truly at stake and understand that their love is what can help them get through it. They realize that they have been burying their feelings for far too long and it only hurts them when they're not together, especially at a time like this when the threat is even greater.
