DLC wise, if they ever do do another appearance pack, I hope they make a version of Liara in her Redemption costume.

I also hope that the next story DLC involves her SB network being put to use. It's a bit too downplayed.

As much as I'd like to say I'd want more romance or friendship content with Liara, I don't put it as a priority. As much as I'd like to complain about the friendzone thing, we already got a lot from her. More then others. Liara's a busy woman, and a private person. Her friendship and romance should reflect that. We all know what we gotten into. So if Liara's too busy being plot important, that there isn't enough time for them to be together, beyond moments of support, so be it.

When I get my new Shep to ME2, LotSB before or after the Suicide Mission? I'm just curious how others have played it and what they prefer.

I used to do the actual mission straight away when I got to Illium. But brought Liara up to the Normandy just before the suicide mission (same place other romance scenes occur).

I know this puts me in the minority, but I do LotSB before the SM, but late in the game, leaving the "date" for after.  That way, LotSB plays like Shepard's LM, making sure her head is clear and she can focus on the mission at hand.  It also gives her one hell of a reason to make sure she makes it back.

I only picked up ME2 after LotSB had been released, so I'm sure its immediate availability colored my perception of how things should play out.

Can anyone remember what the dialogue differences are between doing the LotSB 'date' before/after SM?

I don't remember much about it but I remember:
After SM: Liara talked about her birthday which was coming :wizard:.
Something about the Reaper :pinched: And Shep's crew after SM.

Before SM: Horizon. The Collector

Shepard's LM is a good way of thinking of it - I never liked that everyone else gets one and Shepard just gets TIM telling her to Deal With It ™.

Just saw the Avengers movie (ya I know finally) And i cant help but think of how this picture reminds me of it. All Heroic pose and all. I can hear the music. Shepard needs theme music too. Maybe both of them while were at it;P

Lotsb pre SM. The whole upgrades and features of Hagalaz are just wasted after the SM. I want to respecc my Squadis during the game.
I do the cabin scene twice (savegames ftw). I think Liara calling TIM bastard, is the cutest thing. Then I restart the savegame and still have my goody pre Arrival.
Arrival is the DLC, I finish ME2 runs.

I'm greedy I know. ^.^

Goddammit, all this talk of LotSB just made me re-purchase ME2 (I was holding off until after the EC). Looks like my nostalgia and love of the characters () won out over my fear that BW will leave the stories/relationships going nowhere ().

Repay that love, BW! REPAY IT!!

This could well have something to do with it, although I just went through the first playthroughs pre-DLC thinking it was all wrong, and then hit LotSB as soon as it became available when I got it…and that was right.

Might actually try it this way. I have only played completely through ME2 just a few times with my cannon Femshep and I always waited till after the SM to play it mainly because I got the game before LotSB and Arrival came out. And it does make sense to leave the "date" for after. Thanks for the info!

About writers block, I suffer from it too but it's not just at writing. I need footage for a couple of edits I've planned trough.
I even bought enough harddrive space for about 155 hours of HD recording, enough to nonstop record the whole trilogy.
But I just can't get myself to play them... I feel like I must wait until the EC before doing anything.

Then I have two fanfics in the process of writing. I've got the basic layout done but as the last time I wrote stories was years and years ago; I have a hard time filling the empty space between "action parts" of the story. It just looks like a list to be honest... :pinched:

What is there to do on Twitter? I've only used it to ask stupid questions from Bioware and Gibbed.

Yep, I even abandoned my ME2 playthrough after LotSB because I just wasn’t feeling it.

This is me as well. Together with everything that was said about the Hagalaz upgrades and the ability to respec crew members rather than just Shepard. Arrival only gives 1 Damage Protection upgrade and a Medigel Capacity, so I can see leaving that until post-SM and I may do that on Kira, but LotSB deserves pride of place in a runthrough so, like Marshall and Lili, I treat it as Shepards own loyalty mission. Save a few sidemissions to force the pickup terminal to reset for the weapon upgrades, then hit the Reaper IFF/Heretic Station/Suicide Mission combo head on, saving the cabin invite for afterward as Shepards reward for a job well-done.

Plus I was late to the Mass Effect party, so release schedules meant nothing to me, I just downloaded everything in one day, the day I joined the BSN. That was a GOOD day :D

On the matter of LotSB:

I like the fact that the game allows you to decide when you want to go after the Broker - leaves more room for replayability and roleplaying. I've done it both ways - before and after the SM, and either way it's undoubtedly one of my most favorite, if not the most favorite mission in the Mass Effect trilogy.

For me personally, however, it makes more sense to do the LotSB after SM - it acts as a kind of a bridge between ME2 and ME3. That's probably because I originally played it after the SM when it was released and I got accustomed to doing it in that time period. I can't say why specifically, and it sounds silly, but the mission does feel different before and after SM.

I feel like doing it after SM because it adds to the adrenaline even more: You know that the Reapers are coming, you've faced the worst they've thrown at you back at the Collector Base, and you know that you have no time to spare, but you do so with Liara anyway - helping her with the Shadow Broker and rekindling her romance at such a point has more impact for me personally - because now both her and Shepard know what is truly at stake and understand that their love is what can help them get through it. They realize that they have been burying their feelings for far too long and it only hurts them when they're not together, especially at a time like this when the threat is even greater.

No, I don't like it at all, but I'm a huge fan of that show. I might rewatch some seasons now and search for more Mass Effect, I never notice stuff like that.

I think the first version looked horrible, but her final look is not bad imo.

I would never even notice such things (unless someone wears a Liara shirt^^)

Liara statue anyone? It's just a 3D render tho.

I'd still prefer the statue like that, I don't mean the pose or the face or the gun, but the style.
Make her look like... you know... like the way she really looks like?

Nah, you're not alone. I happen to like it. But I like anime in general and have my fair share of figurines on my shelf. This one will make a nice addition if I ever get my grubby fingers on it :D
