That would be interesting! And aside from being an...enticing image, it also provides a better look at how the armor in the universe actually works.

I mean, for the longest time, I didn't even realize what Liara's LotSB outfit was - that is, that it's a bodysuit with various light armor plates strapped to it. With a coat strapped on top of that, holding it in place.

This definately. Someone should send that idea to Rae and have her make an FF about it.Posted Image Maybe it could be a Deviant picture series.... Hmm wish I was a writer or an artist.

Also am I the ony one that thought Liara was talking about her head fringe when she had the sand line on Virmire?

I believe that "I Was Lost Without You" was written just for Shepard and Liara - it's just so... fitting - the music and the title. It's just so full of emotion and feelings that correspond to what I believe Shepard and Liara feel for one another. They were lost without each other. I tend to think of it as their theme.

Written for them, hardly, but I have to say it is my favourite of the series romance themes. Favourite on the soundtrack overall actually. "I'm Proud of You" and "The Fleets Arrive" are lovely as well. In fact, most of the soundtrack is just amazing. ^_^

I adore all the themes, they all fit each stage of the romance between Liara and Shepard perfectly.

While I like the idea and would love to see such a scene in the game, it's just not technically possible with how 3d models are currently created and manipulated. They even avoid showing us how helmets are put on or removed because the clipping just ruins it (especially with hair or asari head crests). I'm afraid we're still a very long way from having realistic enough physical models in video games to allow for such a scene.

I HATE QUOTE FAILS!

*ahem*

Anyway. Yeah, all the songs are great of course. Also, I don't think that kind of animation for games is that far away.

My uneducated guess would be at least a decade. It would require objects to actually have simulated physical properties, allowing them to interact realistically, instead of the current 'stupid' textured poligon meshes that just clip through each other at will. I shudder to think what the animators had to go through to get Liara's and Shepard's fingers to interlock so nicely during the pre-Chronos love scene...
It's kind of sad really, aside for ever fancier mapping/shader techniques and more detailed meshes, 3d graphics have fundamentaly not really improved much in almost 2 decades.

Not only that they had to do the whole thing twice, since FemShep's new body model has much smaller hands than MShep. All the animation points would be off and you'd basically have to do the whole thing from scratch. Otherwise you'd get what happened in LOTSB where FemShep clips through Liara since the animation wasn't rerigged for her animation skeleton.

That hand holding scene is one of the most intricate and complicated pieces of animation in the franchise. It impresses the hell out of me every single time I see it, so much work for something that's only a few seconds long.

REally? I really like Into the Dragons teeth  it's an intresting fic.

Pressure  is different because it's from the perspective of a Shepard ,who realizes she is in-fact in love with Liara, in ME3. I reccomend it to everyone.

It is very interesting. However, it is also dark. Now, I like a good, dark fic, but I have to be in the mood. I should retract my earlier statement and instead say that rather that it not being my cup of tea (which it can be), I'm not in the mood to read dark. Especially in the ME universe right now. The endings kind of ruin that for me.  I do occasionally find myself in need of being depressed. Sort of like a fluff/happiness overload and then I get in the mood to read dark, depressing and tear inducing crap in order to balance myself out.

Didn't get far enough into Dragon's Teeth to find out if it's only dark, or all of the above, but I just had a feeling that there was going to be alot of pain in for Shepard and Liara by the time the fic's done. I just don't have the tolerance for that right now.....

They can really go far, if DEVs push their games.
I saw a picture in a magazin, that one DEV is going to use real horses, to animate their horses in the game.
I don't care if some people think that Heavy Rain is a movie- game hybrid, it looks amazing.

Isn't their romance scene the only one where the song plays in its entirety? I'm pretty sure it is. So, I can see your reasoning that it was written for them... but I doubt it. However, it DOES fit best for them. The quiet, soft, melody perfectly embodies their relationship: a very romantic and gentle feel. I thought it fit perfectly for them. More than any other romance IMO. It was very subtle and soft, and sort of exemplifies all the pain and loss they've endured both apart and together. And also their personalities around eachother: both Liara and Shepard have always shared a quiet intimacy; a soft and gentle love. And I thought the song nailed that. It also had an 'at long last' feel to it. They are finally with eachother again; its a very touching and romantic song. Really captured the moment for me. Love it.

And was I the only one who just wanted that scene to last forever? :crying:

While this demo is impressive, it's not really what we've been talking about. The issue was the viability of having a scene where Shep and Liara help each other put on/off their armour. That's the type of problem I think is really far of from being solved, interaction between objects, in this case, a character's model and a piece of clothing. Something like showing Shepard holding up Liara's jacket for her while she puts her hands through the sleeves and pulls the jacket on.
As far as I know nothing even remotely like that has ever been done in any video game.

Hate to double-post, but I figured this deserves a seperate post...

Well, The Rebellion Pack for ME3 MP has finally been officially announced, including a new map set on Thessia, Firebase Goddess.
It's no singleplayer Thessia DLC, but at least it's something for all of us that wish to see more of Liara's homeworld...

I don't know if I'm allowed to post that here. I send you a PM. It's rather... steamy ^.^

[Edit:]
I've been told it's not too steamy, so hear we go: Heavy Rain love scene. NSFW
The Demo, was a thank you gift, for all the Heavy Rain fans and shows the "new" version of their Engine for PS3. Enjoy ^^

Ooh, nice. Glad to hear that the Phoenix are Ex-Cerberus. Also nice that they incorporated the Cerberus Kestrel Armor and Auto Mattock from Mass Effect: Infiltrator, nice way to make Infiltrator more connected to the main game.

And some Thessia is always nice, even if it's just in Multiplayer.

Edit: Also, I smell Randall Ezno being in singleplayer DLC.

I didn't even know about that scene - and I think it's rather interesting. It shows that, at least, a scene of Liara/Shep undressing or helping eachother get dressed, is at least possible. If not for the intricate combat armor like Liara's LotSB suit, then definitely it is for the casual clothing, especially in Liara's case of that robe you see many Asari wearing, and that she wears in LotSB aboard the Normandy.

Given that it is multiplayer map, meaning zero story.

I think he meant that he thinks they might make Thessia DLC in the future because the MP map shows there is resistance on the planet. Cheer up a bit, hm?

:?:pinched: Realizing that you wrote a stupid scene in a fic, then following it with a good one is irritating. Especially if you handwrite your stuff in a notebook and want to keep the latter one.... Gah! On top of that, my OCD personality is not sure how to proceed in scratching out the offending writing (*shudder* hate doing that, makes the notebook look so ugly) while signifying that the stuff that comes after the good part is really BEFORE it and anything after the new part is actually after the good part which is after the new part..... :(

I am very happy that a MP will be on Thessia. If anything it signifies we might have an N7 mission there later on.

Anywho... back to Liara...

Posted Image

Are any of you up for a pure romance DLC? As in, a mission or two specific for your LI, and then dialogue and another romance scene (sex not required)? I personally would love it.

Like maybe in Liara's case, you could go back to Illium to retrieve some kind of asset that will help the war, but along the way maybe you run into some mercs who have some valuable information/falsified evidence that (I'm just brainstorming here) suggests Benezia was instead the one who turned Saren and helped begin the cycle, and that somehow Liara is working with the Reapers as a shadow agent uncover. The mercs are going to release the information to the council because Udina (basically through Cerberus) promised them a hefty profit. And this would, in turn, suggest that Liara is somehow indoctrinated and is trying to turn Shepard and convince him to betray the Alliance. Provoking the council to impound the Normandy and its crew for investigation. Thus, clearing the way for Cerberus to have their way with the council. And so you have to hunt down these mercs, with the mission spanning across multiple areas of Illium (or some Asari colony), and could feature another speeder chase, maybe a boss battle with the head merc (blue suns maybe), etc.

And then of course there could be an intimate post mission scene with Shepard consoling Liara. And basically it would be another romance scene to further show their feelings for eachother and continue to develop the relationship. But really the whole mission should do that as well with dialogue, and ambient chatter. So yeah, it could kind of act as a LOTSB 2.0 kind of thing. That same sort of combat, dialogue scenes, post mission romance. I would love something like that.

Anywho, just a thought. And I realize the mission I came up with may sound like a stretch, or just downright dumb, but I just brainstormed and it was the first idea that came to mind. So go easy on me.

I just really want more gameplay/dialogue/scenes that add to their relationship. I know we got to be with her a lot in ME3, but so much of it was generic 'friend' talk, I feel like there should be much more romance specific interactions. And some kind of LI DLC could go a long way to fulfilling that need. Am I the only one that feels this way?

That's an interesting scene...

On one hand it demonstrates exactly what I'm trying to say - realistic portrayal of a character removing their clothing currently just can't be done in a videogame. This scene pulls all kinds of shortcuts and camera tricks to give the illusion of unclothing, but in reality all that's happening is one rigid polygon mesh (or maybe just a texture) is being moved relative to another rigid polygon mesh (the body), and rather clumsily at that. For instance, we never see the characters pulling their shirts off over their heads or pulling their arms through the sleeves; instead, all we see is the lower edge of said shirt moving upwards, rigidly, without any deformation. If the camera was pulled back at that moment, what we would probably see is the rest of the shirt, still in it's shape as if it was being worn on the body, clipping through the character's torso, head and arms.
What I want to see is a piece of clothing that will deform as the character moves to remove it, adhering to and not clipping through the character's body as it does so. You know, the way clothes behave in real life :)

But, on the other hand, this scene does demonstrate that all the used tricks can create a solidly convincing illusion of what is going on, which may very well be good enough for many uses.
