While I love that picture, is it just me, or does anyone else question why the heck the N7 program would have a baby line of clothing in universe? Cute, and overused a bit, but it has little basis in lore....

My theory is: N7 operatives are allowed to slap their symbol onto anything they want. It's the number one motivation to graduate from the program. *nod*

@CrimsonN7

Yea, I was little taken aback by Liara's cool demeanor when finishing off the Cerberus troopers. I did also think "That's mah girl!"

Nice bomb too.

Ah, of course.... Who wouldn't want an N7 lunchbox, or perhaps an N7 iPod skin. Those N7s sure have nice options in item customizations....

Sorry, I completely missed it somehow, but anyway while I'd like to see a romance DLC, I don't think having Benezia be the start of the cycle fits her character. It would completely go against everthing we've ever heard about her from her confrontation, to Liara's depiction to Aethyta's. I'd like it to be more focused on the Shadow Broker side of her. If Bioware hadn't botched the secret so badly in ME3, they could have kept it simply between Shepard and maybe a FEW choice crewmembers rather than nearly the entire friggin ship. That way, we could have had a mission where we had to protect Liara's identity or something. That's all I can come up with right now anyway.

That's not what I said. The information was falsified. It wasn't true, just something made up by Cerberus to try and incriminate Liara.

In that case, then I that could be a good idea.

Oh, didn't see that. Well, first of all I think it is very important if they do a romance DLC that they treat all romances fairly. Aside from that, I would prefer a DLC that just added more romance content spread out over the game rather than a new mission, I also think it is a bit unrealistic to expect a unique mission for each LI.

It could be an expansion. And it was just a thought. I don't think its unrealistic, personally.

But thank you both for reading it and commenting. :)

That one is by far my favorite as well. Not only did the artist attempt (and succeed if I may be so bold) to create a baby look for the asari, they also made it... well, baby-like. She's acting like a realistic baby in the scene and that's what really makes it work, in my opinion.

There is Rising from the Ashes by Elizabeth Carter. It's a whopping 400k words long though. I liked it okay, but Shepard gets a little too asari for my tastes. Other than that, it's a pretty good fic.

I found that one almost a year and a half ago.  I think I got about 8-9 chapters in when I realized just how much of a Mary Sue her Shepard was becoming.  I absolutely loved the world creation that the author did, and the attention to detail was exquisite.  But Shepard could simply do no wrong, and nothing yanks me out of a story faster than that.

I didn't see that post. But as I've said before - a romance DLC, especially one that fleshed out Liara's romance more...this is literally one of the things I want most. There's so much potential there, and not only can it be used to flesh out Liara and Shep's romance, but through Liara you could see more of Thessia and Asari culture fleshed out. You really only get brief glimpses of it.

You really only get a feeling a few times during the games that Shep/Liara are such intimate lovers, and a romance DLC could really do a lot to explore that - hell if a romance DLC couldn't also explore more about mind melding, how Rae did.

There's all kinds of things that could be done though, so I'm not just gonna single out one idea.

Yeah... that's true. I found it much easier to read it in chunks and I got far into it like that, but it really got hard to read once Shep started converting everyone to the LightSide and all that.

As a writer I would like to ask you what made said Shepard become a Mary-Sue?

Just want to know how people feel that a character is a Mary-Sue.

This is a big problem with fanfic authors, especially when they write a story about their Shepard. They are too attached, and they can't write in any flaws or anything.

That doesn't mean they have to go all grimdark downer, but their Shepard basically being Goku is also just obnoxious, too. Especially if they have all the characters in the story do nothing but fawn over Shepard and no equality is shown in the relationships.

I haven't read much of the story though, can you give me some examples of what you meant, that happens in the story? Spoil it for me if you have to.

True. That was just one idea. I could think of many others though, like you or anyone could. There's almost limitless possibilities. What did you think of that concept however? A Romance DLC that incorporated a mission which was centered around your LI,  and helped further the story, but also advanced and continued to flesh out their relationship?

Mine’s only ~42 k words thus far but I’ll pre-recommend it for when it reaches 100 k in…August maybe? [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/happy.png[/smilie] (Second link in my signature).

I’m still missing some Liara fics from my big list (the first link), I takeit you didn‘t find anything there? There’s also a post on the first or second page if you missed it, I think by moreeman, listing a few L/S fics that I probably don’t have all of.

Yours is actually on my list of fics to be checked out at some point, even if it is pitifully short. ;)

I know! I can only manage something like 400 words per hour :crying::happy:

From your list, I got LogicalPremise's Of Sheep And Battle Chicken. I remember checking it out, but abandoning it at some point. I might give it another chance, although I'm not sure how much of a Shep/Liara fic it is, since there's supposed to be some kind of Shep/Liara/Garrus triangle I guess. I also checked moreeman's post and I noticed tattoohero's (ladyvader?) fic A Family Vacation which is 180,000+ words and complete. I'll have to check that out.

I quite like Of Sheep… although I’m making slow progress because I find truly renegade stories more difficult to read. (And no matter how hard Mel tries to claim  Del in Dark Energy is renegade, she so is not :P Hot-tempered, sure, but nothing like BioWare’s renedouche.)

I'm not Marshall, but I did get pretty far into that fic to get a good look at that Shepard.

It started out very good, like any other Shep and she was a Spacer Shep, which earned points from me in the beginning.

However, over time, people tended to... bend to Shepard's will even more so than in the games. It was a bit unnatural. The author also adopted that sort of writing style where she wrote situations where Shepard presents only one argument in regards to a situation and... tried a bit too hard to make it infallible, if you know what I mean. Like no one else in the story could provide any other option or dissent in any of Shepard's choices.

There are also points in the story where Shepard catches on to one of her enemies and makes her do a HeelFaceTurn fairly quickly and to the point where Shepard is SURE that the character in question would never turn against her. Even though said character was an assassin bent on killing Liara, or harming Shepard.

Even in the points where Shepard was completely out of line (like attacking a main character) that character was very quick to forgive Shepard and then they had drinks, I believe.

I said it was a good fic, which it is in many regards, but characterization isn't a strength of this particular writer. It's just one of those things about fanfics. You come across some that give you pieces of a great fic, but is just missing that one component to really make it great.

Hey don't take it hard I usually can only do about 500 words per day, even if I have 3-4 fours straight to work in Image IPB

@Marshall: I would like to know as well, since that is one of things I am most afraid of when writting, I rarely can tell when I go too far or too short Image IPB.

Edit: Thanks for that as well Midnightrain
