See, that's the thing. You were exposed to Traviss before her atrocious work in LotF and got a good idea of what she wants to do with the universe. I read LotF first and got that huge kick in the guts she delivered and now I can't stomach her at all. She literally ruined her own books for me. I know that the Jedi have their flaws, but I don't need someone like Traviss to ball all of those flaws up and shove them down my throat. She's probably a great writer in her own genre. I could see that when I was able to ignore all of her biases and obvious attitude in her writing. However, she needs to stay in that genre.
She is not an author that needs to be at the forefront of the EU media. If they really wanted to push her work for her talents, then LA and Del Rey need to focus their time on actually advertising her stuff rather than shoehorn her into a series that she in incapable of writing unbiased and well. There is nothing wrong in knowing where you shine and where you don't. She shines with the Mandalorians and she doesn't with anything related to the Jedi. I see what you're trying to say about her, but I probably will never like her after what she did with LotF.
Man, what did we talk about in the last thirty pages? Ah, wait, now I remember. We had a huge discussion about the endings and each choice. (Didn't participate in that one much.) We also had a minor discussion about IT and whether we like/are neutral towards/or hate it and we had that fanfic discussion. Then we just had a nice discussion about how asari age exactly and how long their gestation cycle would be.
As for the Fanfic Thread, credit for that goes to lillitheris. Great idea on her part.
ok well then thanks Lilitheris for another great fanfic thread, goddess I don't want to read anymore is there anyway we could possibly slow down for a week so that i can just read all of these fanfics, I have like 10 from this thread on tap and another ten or so from my DA account dealing with Liara/Shep, Tali/Shep, and Merril/Hawke to read.
I completely understand were your coming from on Traviss I've never had that happen to me with an author but if I for example happened to read Deception first I would never have read any of the Dark Forces novelizations by Dietz or Legion of the Dammed for that matter, just because of how horrible Deception was. and as you said if they wanted her at the forefront putting out good material they wouldn't have taken her off of writing Imperial Commando which was suppossed to be either a one novel or duology bookend to republic commando and wrap that series up but alas I'll never know what happens now......
but ok i missed some more ending discussion and from what i got up to the question was posed whether or not Liara or Jack would win in a biotic fight and this...

I hereby declare an offical change of topic. That's right, I'm allowed to do that. Anyone who says something about the ending choices will be responded to with a picture of sad Liara.
I now have a question:
In your opinions, what does Liara think of the following:
Joker
Earth
The Citadel
Legion
Mordin
Kirrahe
The Mako
Miranda
Jewelry
As for the Liara vs. Jack thing it depends on the situation. Liara might be the more tactical but Jack has always been shown to have more raw strength. IMO it comes down to how long the battle lasts. In history the best tacticians and strategic players whether they were Lee, Rommel, and even going into sports Roger Federer and the Gracie family come to mind always were good at winning the first battles and ending things quickly but whenever they got up against an opponent that was powerful enought to push the pace and had enough reserves to keep that pace off they normally come out worse for wear, Lee eventually lost no matter how many battles he won during the American Civil War he couldn't replace supplies and men at the rate the Union could, Rommel had the same problems in Africa, he won battle after battle but eventually it got to the point where they wouldn't give hime enought supplies to replenish his forces and his troops were worn and ragged and ceased to be an effective fighting force against a continually replenishing Allied force leading to Germany's loss in North Africa. and well the gracie's are great technical fighters and great at strategizing but countless times when they went up agains younger and mostly larger opponents they were beaten (I'm talking modern MMA and ignoring the first few UFC tourney's were Royce Gracie basically dominated) and Roger Federer has become recognized as one of the best if not the best tennis players ever with his technical skill and strategy on the court but when it comes to opponents that can outpower him while performing at a level that isn't necessarily as good technically as he is he has a losing record and alot of those losses are hard fought five+ sets.
So after that lengthy and probably unneeded explanation my prediction is Jack after a long battle but If Liara can find a way to end it quick like as someone suggested a stasis field, which only Asari and Shep have been seen to use, and then perhaps a few detonations then she'll take it.
As for the Liara's Reaction to....
Joker: the perfect helmsman, cocky, bad jokes, and loyal to a fault. and I'm pretty sure she forgives him for Shepard's death goddess and apparantly shepardknow that Joker has been carrying that guilt on him for way to long.
Earth: I guess it depends on the Shepard to guage Liara's reaction. if the shepard has no strong connections i guess its mourning a cultural loss as well as what is to come for everyone else. If it's earthborn than i guess Liara will have a stronger reaction to seeing her lovers home burned. Although i think that no matter what Liara would have loved to go to Earth at some point and take in the sights whether it be architecture museums are digging in some secluded little sandbox for dinosaur bones and mummy's
The Citadel: I'm pretty sure that I've placed Liara and Shep in a Presidium Apartment overlooking the gardens and have actually put them as having a date in the Gardens in a few of my fics so my opinions are pretty clear on how I think Liara feels about the Presidium (shameless plug, go read my fics:lol:)
Legion: I'm just going to say that she trusts Shepard in trusting Legion because I'm not sure they really ever had that personal of a rapport although if he survived maybe they would have developed one
Mordin: Who doesn't love our mad scientist:D but i agree she wouldn't have like his original work on the Genophage although she would have admired his attempts to correct his mistakes
Kirrahe: He has a cloaca that one but i could see Liara applauding him along side Shepard in an all salarian rendition of Henry V, plus He is a pretty good shot and willing to essentially commit treason to support Shepard so that's worth tons of brownie points
The Mako: ummm..... Liara's not getting into any vehicle that Shepard thinks he can drive
Miranda: I guess they respect eachother and might even develop a friendship later on but Miranda isn't as bad or shallow as everyone says and she does have a heart its just reserved for the few that are special to her in life. Something that Liara can definately understand and if vanilla ME2 is to be believed might also reciprocate (ever faced and asari commando unit before...... then quick kiss and smile for shep with a "Nyxseras hold my calls").
Jewlery: I'm not gonna touch on this other than to say that My shep would get her a bonding ceremony bracelet for the ages, no big jewels popping out or anything in your face, but nice beautiful flowing designs accentuated by a few inlaid jewels. just nice natural understated beauty perfect for the most naturally beautiful creature to pass into any of our minds
and here's a Liara for the long post
