I thought Jade Empire had a pretty good plot, its hard to believe some of the same writers wrote for that and Mass Effect.

Are you playing it vanilla? KotOR 2 is horribly incomplete without TSLRCM or something similar. Not to mention buggy. If you're playing it vanilla, then I'd advise that you read up on any bugs that can and will break the game. There's even one that is triggered by simply talking to NPCs on a planet near the ending. If you do that, then you literally cannot advance in the story. I can't remember if you can load a save before then to fix it though....

That was not my impression, she is only negative in the wards, and there it was overcrowding and high music in the clubs, which generally just holds true to her as a rather solitary person.
On the Presidum and in the Council Chambers I remember her being quite positive, mostly about the architecture but still.
And in ME3 she outright goes:
Liara: "I love this part of the Presidium..."
I think we agree for the most part, though perhaps I could have worded that bit a little better.
She seems to like the Presidium, which is the more touristy area of the Citadel, while she doesn't seem to like the Wards, which are the main residential areas. For that reason I don't the Citadel would be at the top of a list of places she'd like to live. It might be a place she could enjoy visiting but I don't think she'd enjoy living there.
Also while the Presidium does apparently have some apartments and homes, it is the most prestigiuous and expensive area of the city to live in. The wealthiest neighborhood on the Citadel would no doubt be beyond the budget of an archaelogist. While it might presumably be in her budget after becoming an information broker (or Shadow Broker), I doubt Liara would want to be too ostentatious with her wealth. Keeping a somewhat low profile is part of the job description.

She is still the daughter of a really powerful matriarch and has studied at possibly the most prestigious university in the galaxy, I think to just call her an archeologist might be doing her a disfavour. I wonder how her financial situation was before she became information broker in Ilium.Han Shot First wrote...

I agree with you that I don't think she would be as you said ostantatious about her wealth but her apartment on Ilium was rather gorgeous, it did not exactly scream humble abode.
Though I think she could live on the Citadel without any real problems I think she might prefer Thessia or a similar place.

But she wouldn't be living there to show off, she'd be living there because it's a peaceful area, and fits her style. Her place would likely be some of the more simply decorated places, too.

Definitely agree with that. Rushing games never made sense to me. KotOR 2 is an example of what happens when you rush a game with no thought to how it will end up. Shame really, since KotOR 2 could have great.

Yeah, the mod should have fixed even the bugs. I haven't gotten too far into it myself, but from what I've read, it nearly completes KotOR 2 to what it was meant to be.

I never thought Mass Effect had a particularly interesting or original plot. But the characters and the universe it was set in were interesting. That's why a sunshine and rainbows happy ending would have worked, it was in keeping with the tone of the game. I wasn't playing ME because I wanted a clever plot with surprising twists and you can't try to wedge that into a story in the last 5 minutes. Goddess the ending makes my head hurt, I just have no clue how people that write for a living could possibly have thought that ending would work on any level.

I agree, Jade Empire had one of Bioware's best stories (...but the gameplay could have been better).

Speaking of where would you guys/gals like Shepard and Liara if they are reunited in the EC to retire to after the war? I'm kinda torn between Mindoir and Thessia, although maybe I'd prefer Thessia, love asari culture in general and I think it would mean more to Liara to be there helping her people rebuild. Also I think a quite life for them will be hard to obtain in a way, they will be celebrities of a colossal stature and any kid they have will be under the glare of the media spotlight for sure.

I in general like character like Javik, HK-47 and Korgan. They just hate everyone and I have a good laugh at them. On the other hand Javik is brutally honest and has one of the best scenes with Liara and the cosmic imperativ is personally for me, the best dialogue in the whole series.
But I can understand if people don't like that type of character.
For me they just add some spice to the group.
I mean angry Liara was always kind of awesome, even when the context is so tragic. ^.^
@CrimsonN7. Not cool, I just wanted to drink something.
[EDIT]: Kei Leng is my personal arch enemy, he **** slaps Liara all the time. That's highly offensiv.
Am i the only one that just imagined Javik refering to James as a meatbag, and asking "would you like me to throw him out the airlock master."

I say they'd retire somewhere they won't be recognized and somewhere Shepard may potentially have bad memories attached to. Perhaps a planet like Illium. Somewhere there's mulitple cultures mixed together.

Also I'm going to give up trying to read the next 30 pages can someone just give me a recap
You have not missed much, there was some of the usual off-topics: endings, FemShep vs.Mshep, some (relatively mild IMO) character dislike, renegade vs. paragon etc.
We talked about what gift Liara might bring Shepard before romance for one of PMC's stories.
Crazy-greggy, Theodoro and I each linked to our newest fanfics.
Then there was some discussion about how much freedom one had when writting about Shepard promted by our talk about Theo's fic.
There was some DLC talk, mostly about how Liara might react to Aria in a "Take Back Omega DLC"
Then we talked some about length of asari pregnancy & maturity rate.
Some talk about Thessia in the MP.
We also talked about asari sports, whether biotics would be used and what Liara might like, if any.
Then of course there was a dozen or so smaller topics as well.
Thanks Akernis I actually decided to keep on trucking and just read it all although i was up till like 3am staring at my pc after work yesterday/this morning to do it, but i did it.

I haven't checked your other one yet, I have Lili's open and PMC's is on the burner waiting till i have less tabs open. I have Yesika's open right now as well as Akernis's and probably like 10 more from the various writers here that i can't even remember which belongs to who. Plus some dragon age stuff with my favorite welsh elf and one of the few tali fics i've found and liked.

I picture my Shep and Liara retiring- not necessarily right after the war, but possibly after some further adventures or traveling- somewhere quiet.
I just keep thinking of their convo in Mass Effect 3..."finding somewhere far away, where you could spend the rest of your life in peace". It's like that was something that they both desperately wanted to do right then and there, but they knew they had to face the war and the final battle in front of them. I think it'd be extra special that, FINALLY, they could find that very place.
God, I love that scene.

If they were/are planning another ME game they would've already started mock ups for it. It would likely have a code name ect ect. Because there is a limited time span in which people will still be intrested in Mass-Effect.
I still think the advent leak is likely to be, correct.

Yeah, people have a habit of shipping people that don't like eachother together (Liara/Javik, Jack/Miranda, etc). There are a lot of M/M slash fics that put the protagonist/antagonist together. I really don't get it. Do people really think that there is some kind of sexual tension behind every conflict?
There is nothing in Liara's dialogue or notes that even hints that she's attracted to Javik (even when not romanced). My impression it was personal distate tempered by professional curiosity. On Javik's side, whenever he bothers to think of anyone else at all, at best it approaches a grudging respect. I don't think Javik likes any of the crew but I'm sure he grows to respect most of them.

I like to say a more rural part of Thessia, where they could just get away from it all. Thessia, because it's Liara's home, and would make her feel more comfortable after all the stress of the war than anywhere else, and when they do feel like it, they can travel to a city or something and get immersed in Asari culture, which Liara could help integrate Shepard into. That's the thing about Thessia compared to other places - it's a place one of them knows well, compared to other planets that aren't really "home" to either, except possibly Earth for an Earth-born Shepard, but even then, for that Earth-born Shepard, he doesn't have good memories of Earth like Liara does Thessia.
A rural place on Thessia because it'd be more peaceful, and Liara is a more private person that would like the seclusion.

If there's something I have learnt over the years, it's that people will always ship the weirdest crap. I mean people found FullMetalAlchemist's Edward/TincanAlphonse okay to ship,(and would use any sort of argument to justify it.)
The most popular ship for Liara is still Fshep/Liara, and frankly It's obvious the V.A's know it too.

Another thing is well, I know it would be nice for Liara and Shep to finally retire after the war but I still can't see Liara giving up the Shadowbroker gig indefinitely because she wouldn't trust anyone else with the power it can wield and after awhile I think Shep would get restless. I can see Shep taking over as the Human Council representative for Anderson perhaps or taking a top brass job in Alliance command. I just can't picture Shep and Liara dropping off the radar completly even though they deserve some peace once and for all.

Where would Liara and Shepard settle down? Liara would want to be in Armali (Thessia) and EW in Highland Falls (Mindoir) ... so they would have to find a place that would have both asari & humans. Illium is the potential choice of residence but each would travel to their home planets often. Sometimes together and sometimes alone.
