T'Soni what the hell, yeah research for your book my ass:sick: Fell into the weird zone of fanfiction the other day, Liara and Javik together is unsettling to say the least. People are really reaching, maybe space hamster deserves some romance to while we're at it:D

I have no problem with people shipping characters in their art or fanfic, so long as it isn't out of character. Pairing Javik with anyone but another Prothean makes little sense however, since he deems relationships with other species pointless. It is also OOC for Liara.

If Shepard wasn't in the picture the only character on the squad that I can *maybe* see in a relationship with Liara, is Kaidan. We know that he finds her physically attractive. That is half the battle at least.

Not a fan for LiaraxJavik. Mainly because it just doesn't suit either character. I'm not uncomfortable with non-canon ships by any means, so long as the author builds up the relationship logically and in character. They're pretty much AUs and I like AUs.

On a side note, I finally started my 100% ME1 run up again. Normally I do this over the course of a month or two off an on. However, I tried to do it in weeks and got burned out. It was just sitting there for the longest time and I couldn't make myself get back into it. Now I'm ready and I have to say that Colossus armor does not suit Liara at all, IMO. I think it clashes with her. At least it keeps her up and running though.

I think I gave her standard Predator armor (not L/M/H), the one with urban/winter camo on the chest. I went for looks, not stats, which is what I tend to do if I can.

I agree about the Colossus armor.

In terms of appearance I always liked the Explorer or Ursa armors for Liara, both of which have a lot of white in them. Titan was also good, as far as appearance goes.

I just can't picture Shep and Liara dropping off the radar completly even though they deserve some peace once and for all.

I really don't imagine what else they could do, other than what they currently do now. Both of them seem a little disenchanted with what they do now, Liara is always looking for reason to now be in front of those monitors and Shepard seems to be very pleased with the idea of just vanishing with Liara.

As for my own characters they'd probably just follow Liara to Armali, since after the raid they don't have a place they'd call home. Though they are still country girls at heart so they'd have to have a "summer retreat" with open fields and big skies. Just not Mindoir.

I got Explorer the white and blue colour scheme is great in light of Liara's later outfits, white with blue detailing has sort of become Shepard and Liara's colours.

I don't really ship anyone outside canon, even then not really outside Shep/LI. I don't even really ship Garrus/Tali as I see that as nothing more than a fling at the end of the world (especially considering the torch Tali carries for Shepard and, IMO, Garrus' lack of interest in relationships [yes I've romanced him]).

I'm also not much of a fan of fanfics that stray away from canon. Guess that's why I like Rae's work so much (and I don't have the time to sift through all the others to find similarly-minded authors).

Speaking of where would you guys/gals like Shepard and Liara if they are reunited in the EC to retire to after the war? I'm kinda torn between Mindoir and Thessia, although maybe I'd prefer Thessia, love asari culture in general and I think it would mean more to Liara to be there helping her people rebuild. Also I think a quite life for them will be hard to obtain in a way, they will be celebrities of a colossal stature and any kid they have will be under the glare of the media spotlight for sure. Imagine the media doing a documentary special on the life of Commander Shepard, their take on Shepard's love story would be a great watch no doubt :wub:Also I agree that future Mass Effect games should be given a clean slate to begin with, the Mass Effect universe as a whole is bigger than Shepard and his/her friends;)

I'd say Thessia is where my cannon shep and Liara would settle down, though if they wanted to dissappear out of the spotlight from time to time my shep does have that retirement home on intai'sei, Id think that would be a good getaway place :D

I love Falere's facial markings, such a great mission but it's so tragic too.:crying: I wish Liara spoke more about the Ardat-Yakshi's though when you bring her along. Anything to do with purebloods peaks my interest and all your Asari squadmates being purebloods, pretty cool apart from Morinth being wasted in ME3.<_<
I heard something? That was me, sorry. That line always makes me laugh.:D

If Shepard and Liara both survived and wanted to disppear from the spotlight, their best bet would be on a small Asari colony world in the middle of nowhere, figuratively speaking. An alien on an Asari world would stick out less than an alien on a human one, and it would be much more difficult to hide their identities on a major hub world. Of course all of that would be dependent on the relays being functional. And Liara would probably have to turn the Shadow Brokering over to Feron.

It would be in character at least for Liara to disappear. She voices a desire to do just that after all in Mass Effect 3.

*Sigh* It would be easy for a single ship to get lost up there, wouldn't it?

To find someplace very far away, where you could spend the rest of your life...in peace. And happiness.

I like Explorer followed by Titan and then Ursa. None of the other armors really look good on Liara. However, I'm doing my run on Insanity. It's actually pretty easy for me, but Liara would die quite a bit if I used armor based on looks alone.

I think Predator is aesthetically identical to the Titan (they did that a bit in ME1).

I think the BSN is finally friendly to phone. I don't know where Liara and Shep would settle down. But I think they would like somewhere quiet and peaceful with trees, river or lake, mountains. I can see Shepard drops all her/his work after the war. Shep's stress, injuries, nightmares is enough for a life time. Liara could trust Feron with her SB work or she still uses it for a time to help people and then destroys it when it's not necessary anymore.

I thought the Predator was green? It looks the same pattern-wise, but different colors. Unless I'm thinking of another armor.

EDIT: Well, ME1 decided it didn't want to launch properly anymore. Now I have to wait another 4 hours or so before I can play it again. <_< Damn Origin....

There are two sets. The green one is the Predator L/M/H (Armax) ones and they compare stat-wise with the Colossus.

Then there is just Predator I-X (Hahne Keder) and it looks just like Titan, from memory (at least from the above screenies).

Ah, now I remember those. I'm thinking of the Predator L/M/H armor.... Honestly though, I'm really glad that ME2 and 3 went away from the L/M/H formats. IMO, Medium looks best on character models. Kaidan and Liara look really silly in their wetsuit-esque armor and Ashley looks a bit fat to me.

Thought I'd chime in on what I think Shep/Liara might do post-war.

I think Liara would want to help with the rebuilding process on Thessia. My Shepard has cut all painful associations with Mindoir, has no real connection to Earth, and just wants to be with Liara. I think once Thessia is back on track, Liara will want to go find that quiet little place where her and Shepard can get married/become bondmates and have lots of little blue children. I'm not sure exactly where that would be. I don't think they'd now initially either. Part of the fun of the freedom they now have.

And I think Liara would destroy the SB network post-war. To me, she only did it to help Shepard fight the Reapers and now that's over I think she'd like to see this new united galaxy go its own course free of the Shadow Broker.

I am quite aware of what shipping is. I just feel it is odd to ship a couple that have not even shared a single scene or word together.

There is no deeper meaning to be found, expect that I liked the idea in the comic.

It's interesting that you bring this up, given that I believe that one of the reasons as to why Liara took control of the Shadow Broker network was to prevent it dismantling itself after the yahg's death. This would've created a huge power vacuum, and compromised the relative stability of galactic politics and society. Given the imminent arrival of the Reapers as of the events of LotSB, this is the last thing that the galaxy needs.

Fast forward to ME3, and I get the impression that the SB network is in a state of ongoing collapse, with Liara's resources and manpower dwindling as the Reapers attempt to wipe the galaxy clean. Considering this, I think it would be safe for Liara to dismantle the network post-war, as with society in a state of ruin, it wouldn't be as detrimental for it to simply disappear.

She actually can. There is literally no squad member in the series that can't die.

Any squad member in ME3 can be killed by taking them with you during London, and then having low EMS.

Also just finished Half-Measure can't remember who wrote it though.  I thought it was cute and well written although i had to emotionally distance myself from it so that i could get over the fact that it was a control ending.
