That's because the ending is poorly thought out and they didn't think about these kinds of things when setting the conditions for who would step out of the Normandy.

But with low EMS, after Harbinger fires the laser, you will straight up see corpses of your squadmembers.

What is it with everyone wanting to kill off characters? Bioware said that they regretted even doing the suicide mission and I'm right there with them. This game should not have been taken down to the "Kill everyone" level.

Liara can be seen dead ... as to what the Normandy meets Gilligan Island scene was? Who the frack knows?

I, too, never understood the fascination with killing off characters. I don't like only a couple of squad members in the whole trilogy, but why would I want to purposefully sabotage and kill them? Everyone in Shepard's crew gives their life on the line to help him/her succeed, and for that, I would most definitely try to protect them in return. I don't like a character - I deal with it, but I won't turn away their help. They also add something to the story and ME3 suffers for their absence.

I think they only regret doing the SM because of all the variables it created which must be a pain to program in the follow up game. :) Well....not that it makes much of a difference to begin with....you just have stand-in characters if anyone dies in game 2.

But yeah....I can't understand the way of thought either. I usually like all my squadmates (yes, even Jacob in ME2) and I would find it rather sad to kill them off. I already found the Virmire situation a tad bit depressing :crying: Just doing it from a gameplay point of view doesn't make sense for me....because well....they would just be dead and would be missing in the next game. No major consequences (unless of course you go all Renegade in ME2, kill everyone off and die in the end).

But whatever floats their boat I guess  It is a good opportunity to kill unliked characters...but yeah...as I said...I usually like them all quite a bit.

Word. But the character's deaths in the trilogy aren't so you could kill your friends if your'e evil. It's basically just some kind of punishment if you made really bad choices and basically f*cked up, like Kaidan/Ashley dying in ME3... It's very easy to convince them to chill and to be on your side, but if you f*cked up and you didn't convice him/her, they die as a punishment.
Also Wrex in Mass Effect 1. All you need to do is to be pure Paragon/Renegade to have enough points to unlock the Charm/Intimidate at his conversation to convince him that sparing Saren's cure and his Krogan isn't a good idea, you didn't convice him? he dies. Do you see my point here, man?

Some people just aren't that invested in the series, and they're detached enough that they enjoy treating it like GTA and seeing all the ways they can get people killed. Some people are a little disturbed and hate characters so much that they actively enjoy watching them die.

It mostly comes down to just not being that attached to the ME universe and setting though.

I don't either. I always see people post that they would love the opportunity to kill Liara because they don't like her. Or that they are purposely mean to her because they don't like her. Common line is, "She's a creepy stalker, so I'm as cruel to her as possible and she just keeps coming back!!!"

Not only is the first part of that sentence untrue, I can't help but ask why would anyone post that to begin with? It's not at all flattering to you. Yeah, great maturity there, being purposely mean to someone and actively looking for a way to kill them during the course of the game just because you don't like them. <_< I don't like Zaeed, I'm not crazy about Jacob and Javik irritates me sometimes, but I can appreciate what each brings to the story. Instead of childishly begging for a way to kill them all off....

I'm with you. The only Squadis you need are Thane(if you killed Kirrahe), Kasumi, Jack, Legion and Tali. Don't know about Grunt, but you can still do his mission before the Cerberus Base without a problem, not like the bomb on Tuchanka, so it can't be that important. xD

SM is pretty useless.

Ok i just finished reading Here at the end of All things and i have to say i loved it there were a few small typos that I saw, just missing "a's" and "an's".   I love how they all ended up on Eden Prime rebuilding there although I'm not sure I like the idea of Urdnot Wrex Leader of the Krogan as a drunken club owner.  I always saw him as the one that would be telling the baby shepards those semi-tall tales about their father.   But its your story and your canon so do with it what you will.   I still loved it and i want to know where you got the name Delinya,  its cute and reminds me a bit of the name Delilah.   Also sorry but I can't remember who exactly wrote this one...:)

edit:  I just saw a commercial for Dragon Age Dawn of the Seeker on TV  and now I'm off to bed.  On the plate for tomorrow are Greggy's latest one,  Striking,  Akernis's latest chapter, Making Things Right, and Unity.   Really i don't remember who wrote half of these as they've been on my browser so long and half of you don't use the same tag on here as you do on BSN but I'd aprreciate if you can tell me so i can address my comments to you instead of just throwing the comment out there like I'm doing now:)

Oh, guess that's why I didn't see corpses then. I was being sentimental in the initial round. If the ending is bad. But since the conclusions went south in a weird way, well. If the EC is good, no way I'm going to bring Liara with Shep. Image IPB

Aye. I'm not a fan of some characters, but in the end, I'm not going to try to kill them. I think in my first ME2 playthrough, Jacob and Mordin died because I hadn't done their loyalty quests and I wanted to save the rest of the crew.
Though I did send Mordin through the vents, and Jacob died....sometime down the line. Maybe in the bubble area or something.

But I felt really bad afterward. I mean, I didn't like Kaidan in ME1 but I didn't want him to die, and I didn't want Mordin or Jacob to die either. it was a crappy situation. I don't know why people care that much about killing characters off. When I play ME, I get immersed, I care(to varying degrees, depending on the Shep being played). It's difficult for me to understand the mindset of someone who doesn't, in this kind of game.

It's SergeantSnookie's story, but unfortunately he was banned from the BSN, so I'd suggest that you post this review in FFN so that he'd be able to see your thoughts on the story.

I don't know the specifics, but from what the BioWare moderator has said, for posting in a pointless flamebaiting thread that has nothing to do with the forum it's in.

Thought I'd chime in on what I think Shep/Liara might do post-war.

I think Liara would want to help with the rebuilding process on Thessia. My Shepard has cut all painful associations with Mindoir, has no real connection to Earth, and just wants to be with Liara. I think once Thessia is back on track, Liara will want to go find that quiet little place where her and Shepard can get married/become bondmates and have lots of little blue children. I'm not sure exactly where that would be. I don't think they'd now initially either. Part of the fun of the freedom they now have.

And I think Liara would destroy the SB network post-war. To me, she only did it to help Shepard fight the Reapers and now that's over I think she'd like to see this new united galaxy go its own course free of the Shadow Broker.

It sounds like most headcanons assume that everything is essentially OK after the reapers are defeated :)

Damn it I just watched like 6 videos about Liara, including the scene with the time capsule and her romance scene... There is just something about her that is so sad... happy sadness, but still sad. Now I'm depressed.
Everytime I think about Liara I just start to feel sad, I just love her. The first time I watched her romance scene in Mass Effect 1 and 3, and almost all the scenes in LotSB I shed some tears. I guess I'm just in love with a fictional character.

Still, if rumors are to be believed then a DLC with just you and your LI is to be released.

It'd be the highlight of the series if I could spend a whole DLC with just Liara.
