I just saw the ''leak' about the extended cut. I don't no why I feel let down again. They did say that they were keeping the crappy ending.
Shame about the little blue children.

I really hope they do something awesome with it and everyone will be happy.

Some of these customer "reviews" are like rubbing salt in the wounds for me...

  • ME3 is the best, that's for sure. When people complain about the ending of the game and how they expected it to be different, they don't realise that the game was all about emotional interaction between players and their characters. If you think about it this way, you'll understand that ME3 is one of the best games ever.
  • Shepard had already grown a too big character and the only solution was for him to die. I wasn't disapointed because 1) Shepard sacrificed himself 2) Reapers lost 3) Rest of the crew lived happily ever after.
  • A perfect ENDING of the story! Love it, will always do. Its very very dark, depressing and you can really feel the agony and frustration in the plot.
  • If you're a fan of the ME series, then ME3 is the conclusion that most of us were hoping for.

Nothing in the leak that wasn't in the FAQ BioWare let out in April, they'll either fix the endings on an emotional level making them not be so bleak and nihilistic or they'll waste hundreds of thousands of dollars and months of time to get the same dead franchise and unsellable DLC.

Either way I feel the same, mainly because I've got a big bottle of scotch and a bag full of F's that I don't give anymore.

Considering how much Bioware stands to lose if the EC turns out to be a pile of crap in the long run, the EC had better be something fricken spectacular!

Edit;
Arcataye, where are those customer 'reviews' coming from?

I'm betting they were made by paid employees of EA and/or BW to try and fail to soften the blow for the inevitable crap storm the EC could make.

doozer, your quote looks like I wrote those, ha. I don't want to be labeled ignorant. :P

IliyaMoroumetz, just copied around the internet. Gaming sites, forums and such.
One good that I didn't save was someone praising the ending and then telling that he might try ME1 and 2 later.

I’m gonna unilaterally rule that talking about leaks is equivalent to talking about the endings.

Those "leaks" are nonsense. I wouldn't be surprised if the leaks about the multiplayer content is true, but the single player leaks?

You do realize it tells us absolutely nothing we didn't already know, right? We're still no closer to knowing if the ending DLC is going to be good or not. It's every bit as vague as the statements Bioware has given us.

You're just going to have to chill and wait for Bioware to actually release info about the DLC on their own, because from the looks of it, no one can dig up anything substantial and significant, Bioware REALLY has it on lockdown.

So who has said that and where has it been leaked? And what's that bit about us not realizing that the game was about the emotional interaction between players and their characters? It's BioWare that doesn't get that, not us. And I couldn't call a 'very, very dark' and 'depressing' ending a perfect ending - Shepard deserves to live if he/she's done everything right across all three games. Hope this isn't true, or if it is, it's an ending in which not enough War Assets were available.

Yeah, because it's totally impossible to like the game and everyone who doesn't share your opinion is paid.

I wish people would stop with those bull**** arguments that make them look a little narrow-minded.

These 'reviews' are disparaging the opinions of those who didn't like it by 'assuming' that the rest of us agree, when all the outcry tends to lean to the opposite.

And yes, there has been occasions of reviews being supplied by the employees of the company that made the game in the first place, so, it's not entirely out of the realm of possibility.

Regarding the EC ... Bioware said that it would not be a new ending but would just add more context and clarity. An interview with Kimberly Brooks  (VO of Ash) reiterated that ... "I’ve been in and recorded some dialogue, and I actually have another session on Thursday… The sessions I’ve had so far have been really simple, and Bioware’s not changing the ending, but it’s explaining and justifying it more.” ... Nope, Bioware has never promised a "new" ending.

With that in mind, there is a 95% chance that I'll never see EW or PV Shepard played in ME3.

For those that loved, liked or can just re-play ignoring the ending I'm jealous. I'm not putting any faith in the EC, not planning on buying any DLC's, etc etc. On the good side, I've actually tried playing Dragon Age again and made it passed two hours.

That's a positive. Image IPB

Not to mention, as has been shown, "professional" reviewers are essentially paid to say good things about the games, and pretty much have their hands tied and can't say negative things, even if they want to, or else they risk consequences such as losing "goodies" or even losing their job outright.

Wait. I thought either EW or PV Shep were your canon playthrough, why didn't you play with one of them first?

How could you not play with your Liara-mance story (EW Shep right?)?! :crying:

OFF-TOPIC
Also, dragon age is great, which warden do you play as? Personal favorite is the female city elf romancing Alistair.

And I also just got finished with KOTOR2, ending reminds me of ME3's. :(

well Dragon Age is great I started playing it again last week,  I'm gonna have to start a new ME1 to help with my current fic.  And i personally might just play through KOTOR or NWN2 because i haven't touched either of those in ages.  What warden did you use?

if anyone from BW gave me the 'artistic integrity' line to my face, I would laugh in theirs. After a half-hour of straight laughter, I would gleefully inform them of ALL the lost revenue they would have gotten had they actually gave the ending some critical thought, because people will remember this. And this will warn them to avoid buying future BW games.

Before leaving, I'd remind them that most artists died broke and in debt.

So, I do not accept that piece of intellectual turd that they gave us.

And with that, I will not say anymore on the matter and would hope to steer us back to the subject of Liara.

Lizardviking -

I always play my Stupid Shepard first ... and that is really her name. She is my honest run and contains all of my first run mistakes. That's also why Shepard could jump into that shower with Traynor! Happy times!

My next run would have been PV Shepard because I was really looking forward to him getting back with Ashley.

I'm playing a female mage and she hasn't romanced anyone yet ... Honestly no one is even appealing to her.

But I do like the way that Alistair and Morrigan argue all the time ... My favorite character right now is Sten. Love that guy and his "no."

But back to Liara ...

I've never played KOTOR or NWN2 but I own KoToR so I'll tackle that next if Dragon Age loses me. I also just bought the Master Collection to Baldur's Gate on the advice of a friend. I'll take a look at that down the road as well.

The game is very flawed, but even then it had far better moments than KOTOR 1, The first part of the endgame is my favorite (Dantooine and Telos academy). I have alot more but I feel it would drag this thread off-topic. IF you want I could send you a PM.

Sadly DA:O doesn't do anything for me. Played it one time and never touched it again. But I'm playing Alpha Protocol and I'm fully enjoying, that I can romance a character, who is voiced by Jack's VA, again.

I hope to "meet" Ali in other games and think: Oh that's Liara. Romance her ! :D

I never really got Sten i always picked one wrong option and could never really talk to him again.  KOTOR is a good game and one of the first RPGs i ever played (not including Zelda), and NWN2 was great.

Ok, caught up I think:

- Not going comment on the Renegade/Paragon thing other than to say I play Paragon and I agree with what was mentioned earlier about the whole "seeing something different in Shepard, not just humanity as a bully" as a good reason for her more personal interest in Shepard. That's my headcanon, if you don't like that leave me to it because I'm happy.

- I'm surprised at how many people read so much into the "bondmate" thing. I've never viewed it as some kind of label to categorise the depth of a relationship To me, bondmate always felt like a very intimate form of "partner" or "lover" so to speak; intensely personal, loving, not something to be just thrown around, etc. But not by itself imbued with any specific requirements (for want of a better word).

- Whenever I hear anything about the EC I get increasingly worried they're going to totally screw it up. Things do NOT sound very promising. Suffice to say the backlash will be interesting if it's bad and I'll seriously be just headcanoning the whole thing. Very much a case of "thanks, but no thanks because it still sucks". The ending is thematically horrendous, no amount of explanation will fix that.

I'll be working on Chapter 3 of my fic this week I think. And completing LotSB and the last few ME2 missions so I can prepare for my ME3 run when I make it that far.

Contrary to how others see Traynor as a Liara 2.0 I've always seen her as a Kelly 2.0 ... Kelly was a bright cookie who gave you spot on feedback about each character you brought on board. She was sweet, open and a breath of fresh air on a ship with high maintenance peeps ... Traynor was the same thing for me. She asked for nothing ... but was always there to help Shepard. Oh, and she made Shepard's shower have purpose! Image IPB

Lol you're shameless girl, my Shep fought the urge to infiltrate that shower, sticking to a mental workout rather than a physical;) Shep was pretty predatory in that scene and I thought Sheploo was the only one who had a rape face if ME2 Miranda romance was anything to go by:P
