Volus blood is plad. ;P

@frudi

Im not sure if I thought it was blue really...But I thought that Asari skin color might be somehow loosely related to their blood color, like how when humans blush they turn red, because our blood is red. And when your dead, your pale:) Not saying it nessesarily follows that, but I thought it might have something to do with it.  So maybe sometimes I reflexively thought, "well their blue, so maybe their blood is blueish". Then it was the Turians who got it. But the violet seems to match the lips and such.

new artwork I found.

lol..No silly;P  Ive never acctually ever thought of that exactly ;P But I was thinking back to one of the scenes in the second Kotor game where you could have one of your squadmates dance for some Hutt crime lord...then he falls asleep, and you steal something from him ;P

I'll admit that I really like this Liara manipulation. The purple color of the snake puts an emphasis on its alien nature as it is probably made to look as if it's from Thessia or other asari world. At least the effort was put. Would have been nice if Liara's more purplish look in ME3 was used, though.

Well, the thing is this image was made before ME3 came out. I really like the concept though I think the execution on Liara could've been a bit better - she looks a little...faded? But I am absolutely fascinated by reptiles, especially snakes, so to see Liara casually chilling with a snake like that is awesome, and as Theo said I love that the snake was made purple to seem more exotic, as if it was a Thessian snake or something.

I wish it had a better background, too. I hate the trend of just posing characters in a void.

Would Liara dance for Shepard[/i]

This is a tricky thing. It think it depends on the type of dance. There's more tasteful ways to dance for someone, and Liara is definitely not ashamed to be naked in front of Shepard and she's proud of her looks - look at the way she glides over to the bed in the sex scene in ME3, for example. She is not in the slightest bit ashamed - sure, some of that very likely comes from just being an Asari and the culture they have, but all the same it's there.

So...would she dance? To put on a show? Well, look at the way she dances in Flux - it's a very seductive style, without being exploitative of herself. I can see her doing something like that - I can't see her doing a more exploitative style that maybe incorporates her spreading eagle or something like that. Maybe a style of dancing that is about showing off her entire body, not a strippers' style of just trying to show off and focus on the genitals.

Though I think more than that, while she might do a kind of more tasteful style, she'd probably prefer a style of dancing where Shepard actually dances with her, instead of just her dancing by herself in front of Shepard.

Asari blood

Asari blood is purple, this is shown off in LotSB. ME3 was rushed so you'll see some Asari with red blood, but this is due to it being rushed and that they basically just placed characters in generic pools of blood with no regard to what race they were - everything will bleed red, this is most noticeable when the Citadel gets overrun and you see some dead aliens.

Strange, in cases like these I think I actually prefer them to be in front of a simple black background.

Not sure why, guess it puts the focus solely on the person?

I see, but you can't blame me for instantly thinking of Leia in Jedi when you mention dancing + star wars.

It was also red in Retribution, not just in rushed/generic ME3 scenes; in the book it's even explicitly stated that it's the same colour as human blood.
That's one of the reasons I say that canon is self-contradicting on this issue.

I also think this way. I don't think she will give him a strip dance like in Kelly's romance while wearing that stripping outfit, but maybe more of an intimate, romantic dance with Shepard. As Akernis said, Liara isn't the stripping type and I don't think she will agree to do such a thing.

I know it is not a proper counter arguement but I really think there are cases where I believe Drew who wrote the books made a mistake or two.

Doesn't Kahlee have to be reexplained the Reapers like she had somehow forgotten the whole "genocidal robots who kill everyone" thing?

I think there a few errors here and there, his statement of red asari blood being one of them. And I also refuse to believe that Aria is a thousand years old.

Per codex, asari live up to a thousand. We know Aria’s been around Omega for ~400 a, so she’s probably around 700.

Although there IS that one idiocy in CDN with an asari who supposedly fought in the Krogan Rebellions giving out autographs or something ridiculous, making her closer to 1500 — which is just flat-out impossible when we assume the one millennium canonical. Outliers might make it to ~1100 or so.

Even EDI bleeds red blood in the end with low enough whatever-score.
But go to multiplayer and you see all the blood colors done right, weird.

I assume you mean the last one.

Because isn't the average Asari lifetime 1000 years? Given how young Aria looks compared other asari like Samara and Benezia I refuse to believe she is at the end of her life.

My own headcanon regarding the age of these characters are.

Benezia/Aethyta = slighly above the 900.
Samara = Somewhere between 700 and 800. At the very end of her matron stage.
Aria = 400-500
Morinth = roughly 340

I did not know this. I am willing to push Aria's age being somewhere between 400-600.

I put both Benezia and Aria at around 700 given they have daughters at 100 years approx.

Samara and Aethyta I would put around 900.

@Lizardviking: sure, it's entirely possible Drew made mistakes; but I'd say it's just as likely that the animators for LotSB made a mistake when they made Vasir's blood blue (or violet or whatever exact shade it is). There's plenty of mistakes in cutscenes anyway and in general lore consistency is sadly not one of ME's strongest points.

@others regarding Aria's age: well, she had a maiden daughter, presumably around 150 years old during events of Retribution (set after ME2). Unless she had her when she was already a matriarch (and we still don't know if that is even possible) that would contradict her pushing a millennium :)

Humm..so at what age would an Asari start to become crippled or otherwise physically impared due to age on average then? I dont see many Asari with hunched backs and cains walking around exactly;P

I use 700 as the average cutoff for matriarchs…Nezzie has been one for some time, I inferred, so I’d date her closer to ~800 a or so. Of course it could be that she just transitioned earlier, but I’ve this thought in my head that it was implied she was of an advanced age. Maybe it was just relatively speaking.

The dossie for Samara and her class skill upgrade (I know, not the best source for lore) states that she has biotics skills compared to a matriach. If she was one, why would the text bother to make that distinction.

In her talk about Morinth she mention she settled down and got children when her matron days came, since Morinth was 40 when she fled and Samara has been chasing her for 300 years. That mean Samara had Morinth when she was around 560. Which seems too far late into her matron years compared to how she told it.

I still think Samara being around the 700 seems like the most likely, I am willing to stretch it out to 800, but 900 seems too unrealistic.

I’m not sure where you’re getting the 560 from, but it could be just because I’m tired. I think the average matron stage entry is quoted somewhere between 300 and 350, but it varies.
