Yeah, they most likely add Shep's name to it...because they are stranded on a friggin planet without him/her!

Whatever, the bottom line is this - if the ending DLC is awful, then Bioware is in exactly the same pit it was when they first released the game. They might think fans are just entitled nerds that don't understand their GENIUS but it comes down to sales.

When Bioware is faced with the issue that they can't sell as much of their products and content as they used to, and that they especially aren't bringing in the sales numbers for single player DLC, because they've mangled their reputation and killed fan interest in them as a company and group of writers...they'll have to own up to their mistakes eventually.

Insulting the fanbase won't make them money, in the end, and that's what it's all about.

Guess I should not have read the Daily Mail earlier since I seem to have suffered a BS overdose from the EC podcast. I maintain that there's too much wrong with ME3 for me to bother playing through it again (ME3 premise undermines the whole series, and the resolution via prothean deus ex machina doomsday weapon means there's little sense of achievement)

No they're not, and that's why this was such a smart move. Bioware deflected the initial criticism by deferring to EC DLC to be released in the summer, and now people have moved on and no longer care (as much)

Well, if EMS rating is still required to obtain the "best" ending, then I guess I will be playing some MP this weekend to prepare the necessary points for the EC. Though I'm tempted by the idea to just read through the forum threads and YouTube videos on the 26th and see whether it's good enough for me to even try.

Tell me about it. This is almost the only place free from character bashing, flaming and heated disputes over what the correct ending is and what fan theory is "proven" to be true like the IT. You can just edit the coalesced.ini file to increase your EMS.

That would actually be rather good, Liara then running up to Shepard where they kiss and embrace

rofl moreeman, when this extended ending sends me spiralling into a disastrous rage that invokes my wrath to destroy everything in sight - you will be spared.  Listening to that interview...was like listening to all the other bull**** they crammed down our throats pre and post-launch - it did re-awaken the urge to punch walters and/or hudson - thank god it was just a podcast and i didnt have to look at their smug faces, though.  I would be short a monitor.

As someone who expects zero from this EC ... and as an optimist this is a weird feeling - pessimism ... I hope Casey and his team pull this off for at least 60% of those unhappy with the ending. But after listening to the interview my hopes just weren't lifted ... Sorry.

But at least if the EC is crap I won't be driven to go all whack-a-doodle on this board ... It is good sometimes to be apathetic.

Of course - I read on my mobile when I've got a lull at work, and DA is terrible for that. But yeah, here's hoping it's quiet on Sunday, so it's definitely on the cards

The iPhone app is really good for increasing readiness, btw... you can get 2% every hour without doing anything

Edit: if you're not lucky enough to have the PC version and hate MP...

You can also just use the Gibbed Savegame Editor to just change the value of your assets on a base level, like making the Asari Second Fleet worth 8000 points, thus giving you the magic 4000+ even at 50%.

Mmmm... that's 10 minutes of my life I'll never get back. Too much hyperbole.

Back to trying to capture the last 15 seconds of life, then...

Carefully they walked through the minefield.

I don't hate these guys at all but feel sorry for them. Both were so excited and hopeful during the launch and everytime I've met them they have been great with the fans. They really thought that what they were releasing was going to wow their audience but instead it left a vocal minority great portion of their fans disheartened and angry. I can only imagine how they felt as the storm grew around them. What should have been a great celebration for Casey, Mac, ME3 team and the fans instead was ... well ... not a celebration but a burning.

As someone who HATED the ending I've also not forgotten the world as a whole that they gave us and for 85% of the ride it was great. I really hope that this EC not only makes the game re-playable for me but also gets Casey and his team a little kudos from the crowd that was unhappy. One hopes but as I said earlier ... I'm really doubting that is going to happen. Let's hope that I am wrong.

At least the Mass Effect world returned me to writing and gave me characters that were pretty cool to run with for awhile.

I don't even ****ing know anymore. I feel like I'm witnessing a trainwreck about to happen in slow motion. I want so badly for there to be a possible good ending, but Walters/Hudson just seem so completely out of touch and intent on destroying the ME IP.

I hope there is powerful scenes if Shepard managed to survive, but on the flipside I also demand that their is scenes of equal quality if Shepard died.

I will stick with my original choice and stay with control when I play the EC.
