If they don't expand on the Shepard takes a breath scene, I'll be very angry. I guess that they will have him/her reunite with his/her crew. Most of the fans just that to happen, and BioWare know that they'll satisfy at least a part of their fanbase by doing so. So yeah, I think  Shepard will actually be able to reunite with Liara.

Not going to happen - Casey Hudson (or the other guy, who cares) said in the FAQ that that's not the kind of story they wanted to tell.

Do you think that they won't be able to build new engines and find Normandy and it's crew? I think they can do it

Maybe they'll expand on that? Show the background of the old guy and the kid. Full life stories and all. How they found the Normandy on their planet some 1000 years later and datapads showing the story of Shepard. Doesn't change the current ending....is certainly something the fans don't want....so it must be something that is worth telling for Casey and Mac!

I am not trying to be pessimistic and I think people here know how much I love and care for Liara, but with all the sadness in it, I really don't think there will be a reunion...
Bioware already stated that this is the end of Shepard's story, and having him reuniting with the squad means he lives, which means that his story can still go on...
God I swear I'm almost crying now...

I will be really surprised if Shepard can reunite with Liara, honestly - I don't think Walters/Hudson are competent and connected enough to realize that people want that. They still don't seem to get it, so how could they make that ending?

It would require a form of clarity they have not shown so far.

What the heck is today? My favorite game on NDS was released and they announced EC DLC.
I'm scared, what if the EC is terrible. I really don't want to feel depressed again.

Honestly that's a great animation of Liara and I love it - the animators did an amazing job with it and it's just - it has a lot of subtle details in facial animations that real people do that animators rarely catch - look at the way her face just slightly perks up into a smile when she glances upward - her entire face kindof lifts up, as again real people do

Quickest parallel I can think of here. You sign up for your driving test and mark the date on your calendar, then spend weeks looking forward to it. Then the day arrives and you into terror meltdown, cold feet, cold sweats etc

That's how I feel about it. That last 8 weeks or so thinking "the EC might make it all better" just turned into "what if it's total crap and doesn't fix anything?".

I also really love that one, a shame I don't actually get to see it in-game as it only occours with control and synthesis if I recall correctly .
