Will add. The list is of all fanfics anyway, not just Liara (although she has a good representation). There’re around 250 fics listed.

Hey. Any chance you can add my fanfic "Cold" too? It can be found in my signature. :)

Saw this posted over on the German thread:

It doesn't really look like Liara, but I do like that fanart.

I have a question - do you guys think Liara would fall in love again, centuries after ME3 and centuries after Shepard's natural (not ending-induced) death?

Yes.

She'd still be very young by Asari standards when Shepard dies, with a whole lot of life still left in her. Quite frankly it would be unhealthy if Liara never stopped grieving, particularly if she allowed grief to prevent her from both moving on and finding happiness with someone else. It would be equally unhealthy if Shepard wanted her to be 'forever alone' following his death.

Not everyone is comfortable with the idea of Liara moving on, but it shouldn't be thought of as her ceasing to love Shepard. Thane for example never stops loving his deceased wife, even when romanced by FemShep.

Thanks for the input - I'm kind of mulling over writing Liara hundreds of years later.

And Theo... your request for Shep's POV is proving very difficult to write! :P

Isn't that the one which you said was making you cry as you wrote it?
That can only mean that you've written it so well that you yourself are affected by it! Then that means I must have it now! I have no doubts that it'll be great (and if it is difficult, then you can always have Shepard turn into the usual pottymouth and be done with it, swear it all away!) :D

Check it out..
This is our.. GREAT thread ;) Only 4 our beloved Liara

Really? Really?

Come on now. Don't do this. We don't need a competition between Liara fans like this.

If you've got something worthwhile from that thread that hasn't been posted here, just post it here. You don't need a silly slap fight about "well our thread is better"

But, WE are the biggest fans. :D

He had smilies in his threads, have some fun now and then. Especially since it's EM and most of the germans (expect myself), are just happy. No need, to go aggro.

Maybe :P

It's difficult, though - a lot of the more emotional aspect is visual, experience from work, personal experience. I doubt it'd have the same effect on others. And it's currently only 200 words long, so it's a little ways off yet ;)

And you'll be pleasantly surprised to learn Shep doesn't cuss once during it. Told you Liara was a good influence! :wizard:

That is how I feel ... Liara will go on and have other loves after Shepard is dead. EW Shepard will only live to about 70 or so in my headcanon so Liara will have many centuries afterwards to love again. That is the way Shepard would have wanted it.

EDIT: And children with one of those loves since her and EW Shepard don't.

Quite an accomplishment considering Shepard is a career military man!

This talk about whether or not Liara would (or should) move on following Shepard's death has me wondering...

Assuming for a moment that Mass Effect IV is both made and is set a couple hundred years after Shepard's demise, would you pursue Liara as a romance option with the new protagonist, also assuming of course that she both makes an appearance in the game and is romanceable?

A lot of assumptions, I know. Just curious how many of you would go for Liara again with a new hero.

Bioware has done that sort of thing before, sort of. In the Dragon Age series Isabela makes a cameo appearance in the first game, and is a potential casual fling for the Grey Warden. In DA2 she returns as a full squadmate and a potential romance option.

Han, you haven't read Nova et Vetera, lol... in one chapter alone Shep uses the f-word 36 times... before Liara's calming influence, of course ;)

No way.

If only for my own respect for the former main character of the franchise. I think I will simply have the new protagonist offer her condolesence to Liara.

Thanks, I would prefer it under Liara since it is at least partially about her and is writen for her happy ending Image IPB.

Only if she was a good match for the hero to be honest. But let's hope not since seeing her in the future sans Shepard would somehow muddy people's canon ... Romanced Shepard? Children with Shepard? etc.

I'm hoping all new characters ... Maybe the daughter of Liara without her ever mentioning who the secondary parent was would be okay.

Sure. It'd be interesting to see how the romance would be handled considering the implications of Shepard as her previous lover, too.

It's not healthy for Liara to remain alone for so long after Shepard dies, too.

Well as much as it hurts me to even think about that, eventually, after a very long mouring, knowing this time Shepard isn't coming back, she will eventually recover and will find herself a new bond mate. Will she forget Shepard? Heck no. Will she still miss him? Yes. She will never forget him.

Liara has a much longer life compared to Shepard and other Asari, so even if Shepard would have survived the fight on Earth, he would have eventually pass away while Liara is barley in her Matron stage. It hurts me to think about that, but yes, she will find another guy.

Oh and about Han's question: It is a very hard question to begin with, but if I had to play a game that takes place maybe in like 200 years ahead of ME3, where Liara is still alive ofcourse and I had the option to romance her, well, I'll be honest here, It will be VERY (and I mean damn it would break my heart) difficult for me, but I don't think I will romance her, and even if I will, it wouldn't be as sweet and loving as romancing her with Shepard. Just thinking about how Shepard sacrifised himself for the good of the galaxy, and now this guy is romancing his love, it will be hard for me. So for my final answer- no, I wouldn't.

Unless it does not qualify as an Liara story since it is only partly focused on the two of them.

Never did get a fanfiction.net account, but all mine are listed in my sig. The two newest only went up since Wednesday, but I'm happy enough with them

You got the first part right "Liara and blue children" the second part "Shep's loss"

I'd think your version would fit nicely, too.  :P

I don't know. No, If there is ME4 and Liara is an LI again, I will import a non-LI / different-LI Shepard and use the new protagonist to romance her. If I import my canon Shepard, I won't romance Liara. And I will watch the romance on youtube.  Because I put a lot of emotion into my canon Shep, I can't romance her again. She could move on with other people. But who knows, I may change my mind :pinched:
But I hope for Liara's daughter (without mentioning the father likes PMC said ) and the new protagonist:P

One of these days I'm going to have to get around to reading everyone's fanfics.

I think whether or not the hero would be a good match for her would be a big part of the decision for me as well. If he was a grizzled and callous mercenary like Zaeed for example, I probably wouldn't go that route.  And it would also depend on who the other romanceable characters in the game were. But assuming that I think the protagonist and Liara were compatible, I'd probably give it some serious consideration.

I assume that a potential Liara romance in MEIV would play out similar to the Jaheira romance in Baldur's Gate 2, which was my favorite in that game.

Of course when I say I'd romance Liara again in an ME sequel, I'm assuming the protagonist is a match for her - that it's another blank slate like Shepard or something, so that I can mold him into a character I feel is suitable.

I would not want Liara in any other game after ME3, I think she should be allowed just have the life she desires away from whatever galactic threat we must stop this time.
For some headcanons (my own included) Shepard lives far longer than what is average for a human due to the cybernetics and while of course not up to Liara's possible millenium I think that they should just be allowed to be at peace with each other.

Also chapter three of Spark of Hope is up, just in time before my inspiration will be hit by the emotional impact of the EC Image IPB
