What is that first sentence then? It can't be a "good, quality ending" if you think it's piece of **** too. That's completely contradictory. Everything else, you write as an ultimatum and say things like "how do you not comprehend this, how do you not understand this?" I understand perfectly what IT wants to do and what it could do to the entire industry. I've thought long and hard about what IT does. How the hell am I supposed to take this post?
The first sentence is something you've, once again, misunderstood on me on.
IT would not be the quality, well written part of the ending if it was used. IT is merely the door, the bridge that allows for a quality ending. It's a cliched, garbage bit of writing that in existing allows something better to exist.
I told you what I see IT as - here's the thing, once Shepard wakes up for real, and actually goes into the beam, with his squad, for real? That's no longer IT. IT is over and finished with, at this point. And from that point on, you're allowed to have an actual, well written quality ending that you would not be able to have if you didn't use the IT so that you could reset everything so that the Star Child etc. didn't have to happen.
I have said many times that what I want in an ending is a real confrontation with the Reapers and Harbinger and an ending that really summarizes ME and brings into play almost all of your major choices and your squad and just everything in a huge grand finale that caps off with you getting to make some final major choices that actually make sense and fit the Paragon/Renegade system and then it all goes into an epilogue where different things actually happen to Shepard, the galaxy, and your crew/LI based on your choices throughout the series not just at the end. This is what I'm referring to when I say a well written, high quality ending could exist.
