What is that first sentence then? It can't be a "good, quality ending" if you think it's piece of **** too. That's completely contradictory. Everything else, you write as an ultimatum and say things like "how do you not comprehend this, how do you not understand this?" I understand perfectly what IT wants to do and what it could do to the entire industry. I've thought long and hard about what IT does. How the hell am I supposed to take this post?

The first sentence is something you've, once again, misunderstood on me on.

IT would not be the quality, well written part of the ending if it was used. IT is merely the door, the bridge that allows for a quality ending. It's a cliched, garbage bit of writing that in existing allows something better to exist.

I told you what I see IT as - here's the thing, once Shepard wakes up for real, and actually goes into the beam, with his squad, for real? That's no longer IT. IT is over and finished with, at this point. And from that point on, you're allowed to have an actual, well written quality ending that you would not be able to have if you didn't use the IT so that you could reset everything so that the Star Child etc. didn't have to happen.

I have said many times that what I want in an ending is a real confrontation with the Reapers and Harbinger and an ending that really summarizes ME and brings into play almost all of your major choices and your squad and just everything in a huge grand finale that caps off with you getting to make some final major choices that actually make sense and fit the Paragon/Renegade system and then it all goes into an epilogue where different things actually happen to Shepard, the galaxy, and your crew/LI based on your choices throughout the series not just at the end. This is what I'm referring to when I say a well written, high quality ending could exist.

That first sentence is very clear and contradicts what you actually think. Don't blame me for reading what you write.

And everything you have written could be achieved through a simple rewrite of the ending. IT is an ending rewrite in and of itself. It does not need to be used in any way, shape, or form to achieve any of the things you have written in your own favorite scenario.

However, I once again find myself beginning to argue about IT, something I believe I've made very clear about how tired I am of.... I'm going to bed....

Of course it could. To repeat myself, Bioware absolutely could just straight up delete the entire bit of the ending with the Star-Child and put in something new. I would want this most of all.

However, I remind you, Bioware said they won't do this. They said they want to keep the Star Child and such in the game, and the IT is a method through which you can both keep the Star Child etc. in the game, and get a good ending.

Because, again, how else can you get to an ending that allows for all the variables and choices and such in a good ending, like I described, while at the same time not deleting Star Child etc. from the game? I've literally never heard an alternative.

This does not mean an alternative doesn't, or can't, exist, it just means I've never had it proposed to me.

Not to take part in the argument, but I agree with that. Changing the ending completely is of course the best option, no question about that. But they already said they won't change it at all, only clarify. So it's like polishing a turd.
I see both the IT and the current ending just as bad writing, but atleast one of them could be used as a way out of the other one.

In my video I put the catalyst kid etc as a weird nightmare that Shepard had on the night with Liara. Because the whole thing was so weird it could be a dream. Tho that switches the romance-scene to be after Chronos Station but it doesn't really matter.

If ITers get what they want, you get a real, quality ending, because that's all IT is. A way to write off literally everything bad about the current ending, and write in an entirely new ending.

Aristobulus is saying that if the IT is used*, it will erase the current ending (and is, in a way, a reasonable or ‘quality’ way of fixing the current mess). Then, a new ending can be written.

* Yes, I mean ‘used‘, not ‘true’. It’s not what they intended (=true), but it can be used as a plausible way out.

Meh, I came here to see what Liara fans has to say about the Extended Cut release next week, and all I see is people talking about IT. Bioware said it themselves that the DLC neither confirms or denies indoctrination. It is up to each player to believe what they choose to believe. Now, please let it die and go back to Liara business.

Thanks. You too. But I love mine and your signature even better. The two best dialogue lines in the whole trilogy <3

The only problem is that I'm a Broshep, so I don't get those lines, I get even better ones, in my opinion.

Liara only says "I love you, Shepard" if you have been loyal to her throughout all three games, which I was. If not, she will instead say "You mean so much to me."

Yeah but those are only for Femshep, right?
For Maleshep, when you tell her that she is special, she says 'Show me', regardless if you were loyal through all the games (which I was, for the record) or not, right?

As I recall the dialogue for a faithful Shepard goes the same, regardless of Shepard's sex:

L: I love you, Shepard
S: I love you too, Liara
L: Show me

Riggght now I remember, I forgot that if you stayed loyal you get a different dialogue. I haven't played ME3 for a really long time... Now I'm gonna start ME3 with the save from ME2 because of the EC..

Most of, if not all Shepard dialogue is the same for both male and female. Only your actions and choices in the game make the dialogue you hear different from someone elses. You can go read them from the TLK files if you like to.
Other character's voice actors have to record some lines twice if it contains the word he/she when talking about Shepard.

It's not Liara, but I just have to share this great picture. If only something like that would be in the EC for every character/race.
Maybe some nice Thessian scene of them rebuilding, like in that Blue Rose of Illium comic.

The only difference is in LotSB, but I think that had more to do with being lazy or rushed, then anything else. It is always the same and I can only encourage to do Liara twice, it doubles the fun.
