Why is that?
I don't like MP...I played a lot of MMOs in my past and came to dislike being thrown into groups with random people. Forcing me to play MP when I buy a SP game to get the best possible ending is a game-breaker for me. Maybe not for you as you might not have that dislike for MP but well...not everyone is like you now, are they?

Alright if you want to be picky then the EMS issue is not game breaking as it is neither a bug nor a glitch but an intended scheme by Bioware/EA to force me to play MP if I want to get the -for me personally- best ending option. A satisfying way of playing SP -for me personally- could only be achieved by manipulating my saves with Gibbed. Fact is though I was not able to play the game in its vanilla form but only in a slightly modded form. Therefore, -for me personally- that is

Ah, deal-breaking. I agree with you there. A primarily single player game shouldn't rely on shoehorned multiplayer to access single player content.Erenbe wrote...

Mostly negative. Some are cautiously optimistic, most pessimistic. The fact that the EC was announced and would be released way too early worries us, along with the released interview with Mac Walters and Casey Hudson and their attitude throughout it. And it seems like there'll be only ten minutes worth of content for each playthrough - and that's not nearly enough to fix anything, in my opinion. Whether there's a reunion between Shepard and her/his crew and her/his LI will largely determine how I feel about the EC.kyg_20X6 wrote...

I agree. I've been worried at the total silence regarding the romances. I've even called out someone at BW on it and they stil refused to say anything (despite answering so much else), not wanting to 'colour my perspective'.
Thread.
EDIT: Although I'm trying to find some reasons to be optimistic.

100% agreed. As a person who played dozens of MMO's and loves multiplayer gaming I think that a game that is so Singleplayer based shouldn't be affected by Multiplayer. There should be no relation between them, and the multiplayer in ME3 shouldn't have had such an impact on the most important decisions of the Singleplayer.
Now I am pretty much sad that what I thought Prestly said about fixing the EMS system was false, which means I'm gonna have to start playing Multiplayer again, and I'm pretty much tired and bored from it.

Maybe it won't be just 10 minutes? 2GB is alot of content for 10 minutes. Seems kinda impossible to me to include 2GB of content in 10 minutes... Unless Bioware recently discovered a way to broadcast content in a better quality than 1080p...
I think each iteration of the new content is supposed to be around 10 minutes. But that 10 minutes is chosen out of a whole of, like, 75 minutes, based on your decisions. So it's not 2gb in 10 minutes.
I don't think the time is a problem. I mean you can explain Joker's retreat in, probably, a 30 second (or less) clip. I don't imagine there will be much before the post-game epilogue. Probably a cutscene showing how the squad got on the Normandy (this will probably be the scene that Merizan was saying plays after the fight for the missile launchers, but before going up the beam). Then later on probably the one with Joker being ordered to leave. Maybe add a scene with Shepard (if alive) being rescued. I mean, Hackett knows that Shepard is alive ('Commander... Shepard... the Crucible isn't working'), so why would he not tell the Normandy about this? Don't forget how worried Hackett was during the Cerberus HQ mission about not losing Shepard.
They might also add some dialogue in the Catalyst scene, or war assets. The rest (probably, like 7-8 minutes) will be for the epilogue, I imagine. They'll probably want to maintain the brisk pace of the final mission. Personally, I think they have plenty of time (and a duty) to incorporate a reunion. The question is will they? Reason & logic say yes, but they said 'yes' the first time around. Anxiety and BW's silence say 'no', and they would have been right the first time around. Hopefully lightning doesn't strike twice. Even if BioWare nail the EC, I don't think I could ever forgive their conduct in handling this. I would have loved to have lived the last few months (or even last couple days) anxiety free.

noxiuniversitas1, I've read those fanfics while being in the plane... Maybe it's just me but i wanted to cry, i mean they're awesome but I also wanted to cry : It's good to know that Shepard was rebuilt, by the way, it's pity that in game you can't come to Liara and ... just say how much you love her, how much you want to be with her, there're few dialoges... but this just isn't enoug.
Haha, I'm sorry it made you sad! But, that was kinda the intended effect
Eh, if it cheers you up, I'm written something completely ridiculous, which I'm dawdling over uploading. It's pretty silly, but made me chuckle writing it. Shep and Liara try to choose a name for their baby, with some helpful - not - input from their friends.
Oh... incidentally, if ShepxLiara had kids, would their surname be Shepard?
Btw - you can call me Jen.. I hate my screen name. Chose it in a fit of rage when everything else was taken.

Knew I could convince you! Seriously, I bet it's awesome. We all need some fluff every now and again. Hell, we might as well start reading and writing some as a back-up plan for the EC if it fails... Such stories will be the ones to help us cope with it. A mechanism against the probable disappointment...

In my headcanon they would, they might take Shepard's middle name as well.noxiuniversitas1 wrote...
Oh... incidentally, if ShepxLiara had kids, would their surname be Shepard?
Their surname would be T'soni-Shepard, though they would likely just use T'soni in their daily lives to avoid over much pressure, only "invoking" the Shepard name when they want something important done from someone
By the same token both bondmates would take each other's name in my head as well, so all members of the family would be T'soni-Shepard.
