It doesn't beat LotSB and the pre-Cronos station scene, but it's a contender.

It's really awesome when something that seemed to live in your head gets not only put in the game but expertly voiced by two fantastic actresses. It's got to be up there for best moment between Shepard and Liara just because of the raw emotion in the exchange.

Ah, that's not nearly as bad as the text line makes it sound. Still, it doesn't have a thing on the top response - man I love that one. I really wasn't expecting this, but the work done for Liara in that scene, and in the memorial scene, really is some of the most emotional and moving moments in the series.
It doesn't beat LotSB and the pre-Cronos station scene, but it's a contender.
Some people really arn't that into or comfortable with the emotionalism of "I love you's" and such soft hearted stuff all the time - they have alternate ways of expressing affection (non abusive ways, just clarifying). Its a hard thing to conjure and/or adjust to. Especially a shep with a ruthless background whose 15-20? years give or take used to serious mission/buisness before pleasure.
Ionno i dont find the "renegade" response all htat cold hearted... but it is sensible - shes not trying to be a jerk just telling it like it is when Liara won't see reason when she's letting her emotions get the better of her type thing. I can get downright ****y when i get ultra-worried or up tight, shepard could be the same when telling... no... Ordering Liara to go.
But from a paragon romance perspective... your right - nothing really beats LotSB - it will remain classic. Pre-Cronos comes really close (the finger locking was damn awesome, the kissing animations, and when she catchs the helmet..etc etc)

Hear, Hear. I was actually in awe when I heard the I'm yours bit and Liara holding shepard's hand on her cheek. Ive only heard the femshep side, and the talent is...as always - pretty awesome. Liara's "your not leaving me behind" line...again, awesome.
Then I proceeded to shake my head with a smirk and muttered "im such a sap for these two..."

But in ME, there, it all looked so right. It was very natural, and their movements fit and just really sold the scene, it really seemed like the right movements for them to make at that time. And it was just, a lot of subtle movements a real person would make, not even significant large movements videogame characters always make.
I especially really liked Liara looked down to lock hands with Shepard - such a natural movement, and I feel other games would've just had her hand float to on top of Shepards in a single movement without her looking or something.

I did.
And what was wrong with Mark Meer's preformance during the evac scene? I thought he was pretty great. Have not heard the one with Tali, so maybe he does a better preformance there. Still thinks he does a good job in the Liara version.
He did an okay Job but it felt a bit average to me personally.(Although I'm biased, because most of my brosheps are italian.)
Most Paragon players won't hear the Renegade dialouge for the evac scene, which is a pity. It's not a curel, omg evil, it's a practical response, but also the implications of the statment 'You're in no condition to fight, Liara' is most intresting.
Liara is badly injured, but still capable of fighting. So it's possible, Shepard wasn't just talking about her injuries.
When she said 'I'am yours' I thought of Zevran in Dao.(He says the exact same line.)

Once again Aristobulu, I think you are correct and I agree with you, in shortly, it is much better to have such a powerful and emotional farewell scene like what we got, even if it doesn't make too much sense because it is in the middle of a battlfefield, rather than having a farewell in the radio. It doesn't really have to make alot of sense. Alot of the things in ME don't make any sense. I just ignore these and enjoy the scenes. I don't understand how can anybody think other wise...

I know, if we both break down and buy DLC I have a feeling it will largely be because those two are in it. I mean it was the reason I bought this game in the first place. I'm hopeless when it comes to those two, they're just great.

Uh...are you implying what I think you're implying?
It's obvious both are injured, I had Liara and Garrus and Garru's armor looked bubbled / burnt. Liara's being the most obvious : blood splashed all over. I'd say Shep jumped the gun. Who wouldn't on seeing a dearly loved other half injured? Instead of telling them to retreat to the back lines, the Normandy was called in. Clearly, she/he wanted them out, Liara particularly, because she/he just didn't want to see her fall in front of her/him.
bummer.... top ....
