He did an okay Job but it felt a bit average to me personally.(Although I'm biased, because most of my brosheps are italian.)

Most Paragon players won't hear the Renegade dialouge for the evac scene, which is a pity. It's not a curel, omg evil, it's a practical response, but also the implications of the statment 'You're in no condition to fight, Liara' is most intresting.

Liara is badly injured, but still capable of fighting. So it's possible, Shepard wasn't just talking about her injuries.

*steps back*
*gaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaasps*
Your not implying that she...  *looks around for moree and the 5B gang* dont make me say it.  No, naah cant be - my Shep wore protection!  Tinfoil hat and everything!
lol man I just took bad graphics for "serious" injuries.  Wasn't going to overanalyze anything again.

Tinfoil hat FTW!

It's just a possibility, but it stil wouldn't surprise me if they chose that particular ' you're in no condition to fight' statement over somethign else, just so the implication was there.

I never thought of it that way.

That said, I have a feeling that was not Bioware's intention since they did not want to have a disney ending for Shepard&Liara, and babies ever after would seemingly go against that.

Glad to see that the renegade response is not about being a complete ass to Liara though.

@LizardViking
Why did you choose control?

Various reasons.

The scene where Shepard struggles to maintain his hold on the control mechaniscm as he disintigrate has to be one the best scenes of the trilogy. The paragon control speech is also pretty great.

Even through we never see it I still have a hard time killing the Geth in destroy. And I think my Shepard already got too much blood on his hands.

I do not like synthesis.

I do not mind the idea of having an ending where the main character takes a force of evil and turn into something good.

While I wanted a happy ending for my Shepard, having him sacrifice himself and ascend to a higher plane of exsistance seemed like a decent way to go.

Although the renegade version of control really creeps me out since Shepard states there that he or she should become the new Reaper overlord of the galaxy, ruling it with "an army that no one will dare oppose". And seeing the galaxy making a pretty good recovery in destroy (with no real differences compared to control), it makes me wonder if I should switch over to red.

The evacuation scene with Liara is so emotional that it made me cry. So beautiful, sad, so honest. I had to stop the game and just cry for a while. The look on her face...
I thought nothing could be sadder than that until the last scene at the memorial wall was played. Then I just cried my eyes out. For me destroying the Reapers is the one and only option, so Liara being really sad at first and then the ''Shepard is still alive somewhere'' -look really brought up feelings. Absolutely beautiful.
Thanks Bioware for fixing the endings.

I hear you bro. I cried the first three times I watched that scene, and I still tear everytime I do, or even seeing Liara's sad expressions in that scene. I cry alot of times in video games/books/movies/ real life. I'm an emotiona guy.

And thanks for trying to cheer me up, Jen, but I can't help it :(

I think even the Paragon version is a little creepy, but the Renegade especially. The Renegade dialogue label in the shuttle scene is also really poor.

Still…can you imagine having ShepardAI around from Liara’s POV? It might feel like rubbing salt on the wound…for an eternity. But maybe she’d adjust and just learn to ignore ShepardAI.

Headcanon for the Reject ending: cryogenic storage unit with a backup hologram just in case. Dun-dun-duuuun.

I loved Jennifer and Ali's voice work in this section so much, I just had to record it. You can definitely see the anguish on Liara's face when Shepard wants to press on alone Image IPB -------> www.youtube.com/watch

What shuttle scene? You mean the evac scene?

As for Liara's reaction to control. I am not sure, I think she will be distraught. Imagine her reaction when she returns to Thessia or Earth and sees all the Reapers suddenly taking their part in repairing the homeworlds. I also wonder just how much the galaxy is aware that Shepard is the one in control of the Reapers? Because if no one knows then I think Liara would simply believe that Shepard died activating the crucible.

I must be cold blooded because I didn't cry. Just thought it was very touching. Image IPB   In fact, there's no scene in the trilogy that made me weep I did cry when Gandalf died tho and the last scene when Elves, Gandalf and Frodo left ME.. Image IPB Image IPB

Seriously, I might have cried if they had done ME 3 right. Imagine EC included right from the beginning with the reunion. Yes, I think I would cry...with joy. Image IPB

P.S. I think the ME universe becomes a very boring place with Shep in Control. N7 squiddies to the rescue! If there're any problems. Image IPB  Shep literally becomes something like Leto II in God Emperor of Dune. Enforced Golden Age,

As I said, I'm an emotional person, so I guess it's ok you didn't cry... Yeah and when Gandalf and Mr. Frodo left Middle Earth was also really sad :( Reading about it was alot sadder than watching the film.

Also considering that the Relay's are only damaged how hard do you think repairing EDI would be, I'm asking because for my next fanfic i want to link the endings and my short story Remembering (shameless plug)  and I'm stuck on how long it should take for EDI to be repaired.  Don't worry this story like most of mine will have tremendous amounts of Liara (Shep will be taking a backseat to Liara on this one)  and unfortunately no blue babies just to keep PMC happy

I'm sure you can upload all her files into a new blue box, you may even repair her body, but EDI, her personality, it's dead and lost.
But since no one cares about the Normandys technologie anyway, just ignore it for the sake of fanfiction.

True, I think the codex even talks about how an A.I. would lose its "self" if transfered from one blue box to the next. So, EDI as we know is most likely dead.

I´m sorry EDI that I had to sacrifice you along with the geth. You guys are the real heroes:crying:

When I saw Anderson die I cried:(, when i saw that that scene I turned into a waterfall:crying: just so much emotion. It was nice to see Liara had the 'gut feeling' that Shepard could still be alive. Feel much better thanks to the rewrite from Bioware.

I have to disagree with this.

In the cutscenes it is evident that Liara has lost a lot of blood, indicating serious injuries. Without immediate medical attention she could potentially be at risk for hemorrhagic shock, which is fatal without medical attention. In fact shock is the biggest killer on the battlefield. And the blood is only what we can see. She could also be potentially bleeding internally.

Liara was also looking a little dazed after that 'goodbye.' While that could just been emotionally dazed, it could also potentially be a symptom of shock. Either way, at the point a casualty actually starts manifesting symptoms of shock his or her life is already in danger. So even if Liara was not showing symptoms of shock, it was imperative that she get immediate medical attention to prevent it. (particularly stopping that bleeding)

Finally, throughout that whole cutscene Liara is not mobile. Her weight has to be supported by either Shepard or the other wounded squadmate. Even if her wound(s) weren't life threatening (they are), the fact that she isn't mobile means she is no longer combat effective. She'd just get killed on the way to beam.

Shepard saves Liara's life in that scene, and potentially that of the other squadmate as well.

Correct, it's from the codex, but... if anyone uploads EDI's files into a new blue box, wouldn't that make this new AI, somehow EDI's child?

But where did she get those injuries? Bevor the mako scene she was perfectly fine. And the mako didnt even touch her, didnt even touch the other sqaudmate. And so much blood isnt going to leak out in seconds without her loosing councis ... ****, hwo do you write that? ... or dying. It doesnt make any sense ...

Why should she be dead? I can accept her body is dead, okey. But her body is only an avatar. She said this herself. Her body can only function with the Normandy in range because her real self is still inside the Normandys core or bluebox ...

So I made a music video for Liara and Shepard, covering the whole Mass Effect series, and including scenes from the Extended Cut. I figured I'd share it with you guys here. The accompanying song is "Cosmic Love" by Florence +The Machine

I'd love to hear comments and just continue discussing what is probably the coolest romance in video games!

Mass Effect 3 "Cosmic Love", a Liara/Shepard Music Video
