It's a real shame Bioware didn't differentiate the scene whether she was a loyal LI or not.

I do agree with that. I think the scene should have played out slightly differently depending on whether or not Liara was romanced, even if it was just Liara resting her head on Shepard's shoulder at the end.
But even with that flaw the scene is otherwise so great that it remains my favorite.

And Jen if you're out there I just wanna tell you god bless you woman for writing that brilliant Femshep/Liara post reaper war fanfic, don't slack now girl I want to hear what you have in store for those crazy kids.It has really cheered me up since being cheated out of a Liara/Shep reuniting scene at the end. I'm hoping to see a bonding ceremony of course and some lil blue kids, go all out.
If Bioware won't show us our happily ever after it's up to you now, cough, no pressure.
^^ I vehemently agree with that, lol. Will probably need to write a sombre / evil / sad chapter of Nova et Vetera before I can continue itdoozer12 wrote...

I had a pretty sad moment when my brother (he introduced me to ME right before 2 came out) finally played his EC ending. I happened to be in the room when he was choosing his last squad mates and hinted to him that he should bring Ash (knew she was his Shep's LI). I asked if he minded if I watched him play his ending and he was fine with it. He and I grew up side by side with controllers in our hands and the Mass Effect series is one of our mutual favorites, so I was very curious to see his reactions to the EC in real time.
He didn't bat an eye when the Normany evac came and his Shep put Ash on board. I asked him if he caught the "with all due respect" line and he had no idea what it meant. He joked and talked all through the new dialogue, didn't bother checking out half of the investigation options and went on his merry way to his chosen color. He watched the slides, then got mad because Ash didn't put Shep's name on the wall. Oh yes. There was a real life face palm. He read Bioware's new ending message, saved his auto-loaded game and shut the Xbox off. That was it.
He didn't care about the other endings on YouTube. Don't worry. I made him watch them anyway. Then he had nothing to say other than "How have you only played an hour and a half of Bastion? Do you not like video games anymore?" I had waited so long to discuss everything Mass Effect EC related with him, and all he wanted to do was point out the imbalance of hours played between games on my Steam account.
I've always been the more immersive gamer of the two of us, but by a small margin. We'd balance really well with game culture. I'd point out plot details to him that he glossed over, and he'd keep me from obsessing. I would suck the marrow out of a game I loved by exploring everywhere, being a completionist, maxing out stats and soforth, and in the meantime he's played through six other games (actually, he rarely finishes them) and convinces me to move on to the next game. But no matter what, it always made for some engaging gamer geek conversations that drive our non-gaming friends and family nuts. We even have a code word for when we're bordering on being rude to the uninterested parties and one of us catches on. (the code word is "tardis" which makes it tricky if we digressed into a Doctor Who tangent) He's my best geek friend and the only person I could talk to about Mass Effect without a keyboard. But not this time.
I was a sad panda.
Sorry, this had nothing to do with Liara at all, but this is kind of my home thread on the BSN boards and I needed to vent. Back on topic:
As spoiler ish as the leaked lines from the DLC were, I still can't wait to hear the joke about the Shadow Broker takeover. Liara seems to have a handle on sarcasm now, and that's just plain fun.
TL;DR: my brother is no longer a core fan, and I appreciate the community in this thread. Oh and hurray for single player DLCs.

Aww, thanks so much for checking them out! I need to pull my head out of swtor long enough to post the next two ...
And you caught my attention with "if that DLC is ever actually released." I need to stop thinking it's a sure thing since it's not official yet. Bad thing to do ... Thank you for the tether back to the ground haha!

Agreed, those are the only ones that matter in my book, I am not sure sure about the rumour of this newest one (with the exception of new Liara dialog obviously), it seems that they ruind the Reapers more and more for every new bit of Lore that comes out. I will buy and play it anyway, just hope it is not as bad as it sounds to me.hoodie_gypsy wrote...

Shepard returns from being rescued while Liara is sleeping, she is going to be happy when she wakes up.

Batlass8 - Welcome! Nothing wrong with loving more of the characters ... so says a Ashley/Kaidan/Liara fan ... I mean, why just pick one when you can have as many as you want?
frudi - I thought we were friends and then you go and put even more frackin' blue babies in the room? *puts name on the POO list*
Babi_Siha - I really like that ... thanks!
This is a sweet moment d32f123.

Okay, this is off-topic but I need a sanity check. This is only my second run through of ME3 but I could have sworn that when you run into Balak (BDtS) he is about to shoot you for what you did in Arrival ... but in this playthrough he talks about the Leviathon of Dis ... Was that always in? Anyone remember?
*snip*
yeah the leviathin of dis was always in and i believe it was also the main relic that they discovered in the first ME novel. I'm pretty sure they mentioned it a few times in the original ME to.
And thanks to everyone that liked my fic. I forgot to tell you PMC that it is Blue Baby free. not even a inkling of blue babies in its two chapters or story arc.

He mentioned it. I can't remember how in depth he went, but it was there.
But who can remember anything with a gun pointed to their head anyway?
Edit: never mind. Moreeman had it covered.

I could have sworn he talked about Shepard blowing up that relay and killing all those peeps ... oh, well. Instead he rambles about his peeps working on a reaper and me & poor Shepard have no clue what that has to do with her or humans. Confusing and non-sensical moment there ...
Shepard: Soooo your people got indoctrinated and started killing each other and this has what to do with humans or me?
Balak: Leviathon of Dis ... future DLC hint ...
Shepard: But what does that have to do with humans and you killing them here on the Citadel?
Balak: Leviathon of Dis ... wink wink
Shepard: Yeh, ok ... I thought you would have been more pissed that I killed oh, how many with the relay destruction.
Balak: Nope. Leviathon of Dis!

@PMC: yeah, Balak is intent on shooting you when you run into him, but you can talk him down and during the conversation he reveals how his people were researching the Leviathan (and obviously got indoctrinated then sabotaged the Hegemonies defences). Not sure if there's multiple versions of that dialogue, that's the one I got. He even joins what's left of Batarian forces to your cause in the end.

The first video makes no mention of BDtS. Balak merely introduces himself and skips right to the events of Arrival. The second video indicates that he and Shepard have a history. "After you ruined my plans..." etc. etc. So I don't think it has to do with the EC, as I ran through the "Dis"-cussion (I'm sorry) back before the EC came out.

Marshal - That makes sense and given that my only run was without sleep but a non-stop Ramen & diet coke run ... well, I was pretty jacked up like my poor Shepard by this point.

Now I am going in and taking Liara (just wouldn't be right with her) and Javik with me into the land of a 1000 Medusas.

Batlass8 - I agree ... batarians are an odd lot. I still wish that we had been given a batarian teammember though in ME2.

That said, can we just take a moment to acknowledge the brilliance of batarian foreign policy? "We failed to destroy a planet, so we are going to research an ancient superweapon instead!" "We lost our homeworld, so we are going to kill the person leading the resistance against those responsible!"
