Well, if that star child is right then after some time if you choose destroy next generation will create synthetics that will kill organics, so this is some kind of payback for Shepard survival, if this will happen :P

Sure, but it's a very abstract, distant threat and as you write yourself, you have to believe starbrat in the first place. Which isn't exactly made easier if you managed to make peace between Geth and Quarians earlier in the game.

And it's similar with the other consequences. The Relays will be unfunctional regardless of your choice and can be repaired anyway, the Geth become somewhat of an anonymous mass the moment Legion inevitably dies and while EDI is certainly a very likable character, I doubt many people have the same emotional connection to her as to their Sheps and LIs. We don't even get to see those deaths at all.

I mean, I certainly don't want to go back to the times of "choose between Bleak Ending 1, Bleack Ending 2 and Bleak Ending 3". It's just that I feel that  - especially on the emotional level - there's too little reason to pick anything but destroy, which makes the final choice somewhat ... boring.

But maybe that's just me and I really don't want to derail this thread into ending rage again.

So let's have a happy Liara instead! ^_^

*sigh* I will never understand haters, why can't people just focus on trying to have their own romance improved instead of trying to diminish that of others?

It's barely readable, but i guess it says "More Thane, and less Liara." Right?

Well I don't think BioWare will do less Liara, so there's nothing to worry about. ;)

@ Theo: Just like Shepard it seems that Liara is not fond of that idea, don't worry Liara we could never dream of such a thing.

I've been away from the BSN for a long while, and it does seem that most of the threads I used to frequent are less tolerant of other characters than they used to be. (There's even been tension between the Virmire survivors, apparently). The Liara thread is a refreshing change as far as I've seen, but it still makes me a sad bat.

so. I've been playing ME 1, 2 and 3 forever it seems (Liara is my one and only), but on a recent playthrough of ME1, I took Liara on the Virmire mission. As we started out, I turned to get a comment from her (something I hadn't done before) and she said "I don't know which is worse, all these Geth or the sand in my...nevermind". I laughed out loud and tried it again to make sure of what I was hearing. And yes, she said it again.
Now I'm wondering if there are other outlandish lines she says. Anyone?

On this whole 'save Thane' thing...

I don't envy Bioware. On of the challenges for the devs I think is knowing when to listen to fan suggestions/complains and knowing when to completely ignore them. If Bioware listened to every fan suggestion/complaint I'm certain that the Mass Effect series would be an awful, unplayable mess.

Case in point: A lot of these same Thanemancers are not just complaining about a lack of dialogue or romance conent with Thane in ME3, they are complaining that he died. They want a character who says "I'm dying" when you first meet him in ME2, to both survive the coup and be cured from Kepral's Syndrome. Curing Kepral's Syndrome would render Thane's entire plotline in Mass Effect 2 completely pointless.

Hahaha, I remember that one! It was hilarious. Yes, she have some more funny 'special' quotes on different missions, I just can't remind of any of them right now..

Nice work there, Seival - I really like the video. It might as well be showing the reason why Alisia makes the choice she does. It's not about the lust for power. Good work!

Thanks :)

This is true, although I feel like if this had been Liara's storyline, we'd all probably want the same thing for her too.  :)

We all want improvements for our LI but some fans just feel the need to take their frustration out on another LI, like Liara. This is incredibly funny to me because why would they even be interested on another LI's storyline if they hate that character?  I have never even watched any of the other LI's romance storyline in Youtube because I am simply not interested, and neither do I want to compare.

I kinda understand where the Thanemancers are coming from, I was pretty damn pissed off when I saw there was only 3 investigate options when talking to him in Huerta memorial. Thane of all characters deserves more dialouge than that, especially because he is one of the most interesting out of everyone. Although Thanemancers need to understand that, like you said, curing Kepral's syndrome would defeat the purpose of Thane's character in ME2.
taking it out on Liara on the other hand, is completely unacceptable and childish.

So true ... I just recently had to say goodbye to the Ash thread because of that. I'm still an Ash fan but the bashing of Liara and Kaidan got old. There are some of us who actually like/love more than one character ... I mean we even have a Tali lover in this thread ... *looks at Moreeman and rolls eyes* "A freakin' Talimancer!"Image IPB

FdL_Ananas - The negative to the destroy is that the geth and EDI are wiped out so many people struggle with that choice. They want both Shepard and EDI and the geth to live. My nephew wanted his Shepard to live so bad but picked control ... "I guess I'll follow Legion's example" was his words. The poor kid had to give up Tali, building their home and adopting orphaned kids but he just couldn't kill the geth. "Tali will find someone good *sniffle* and if they hurt her I'll be watching! *sniffle*" Too funny!

Synthesis is the creepiest of all for me because the thought of waking up all "Mr. Roboto" is not my idea of Nirvana. I can almost see the lines of people as they wait for their happy punch every morning. And while I don't have a Shepard that would pick that option ... I know the idea is appealing for others.

But at least the EC showed what the outcome at least in the immediate future is after picking your poison. Personally I see problems on the horizon for all the choices. Chaos is inevitable. This happy, happy, joy, joy is not permanent. That's the way life should be ... ups and downs.

EDIT: TOP

I actually don't think I'd be asking for a way to cure Liara, if it happened to her like it does to Thane. It's all in the portrayal - and Thane, from the very first conversation tells you that not only is he dying, but he should've died a while ago and there is no cure. There's never a "well maybe", there's never presented as any hope - a dying man is who he is, it's an integral part of his character.

Changing that is changing Thane entirely, it doesn't work. That's part of the power in his romance, that you're getting close to him in his final hours.

For a Liaramancer, it'd be like asking for a way to overcome the lifespan difference. Liara naturally outliving Shepard is just a part of who she is, who the Asari are, and it's an aspect of their relationship they have to deal with. A Liaramancer shouldn't ask for them to find a way to overcome that in the end, nor should a Thanemancer ask for a way to overcome Thane's illness.
