What do you think Liara's flaws are?

She tends to become rather obsessive.

She has a subtle bit of Asari arrogance going on - from her dismissal of other people's forms of sexuality to her seeing falling to the reapers as something that can happen to other peoples worlds.

She tends to shut other people out while grieving.  Not sure if that's a flaw, but it can hurt for someone who loves her.

Since becoming Shadowbroker, she seems to have a rather cavalier attitude to peoples privacy.

Ok, folks, here's a question that PMC and I discussed not too long ago;
What do you think Liara's flaws are?

I had a hard time seeing, perhaps being distracted by the blue, but I also figured that her naivette was a notable flaw and her inexperience around people made her an easy target.

Fast forward to ME2 and lo and behold, (and this is what I recall from PMC's and My conversation) Liara's more concerned about taking down the Shadow Broker because he was better than she was. She don't like being talked down to, as evidenced by Javik's condescending behavior in ME3.

What say you folks?

I wouldn't call these flaws so much as an evolution of her character. She goes from being this naive little archaeologist to this skilled information broker because of certain events which shaped her character and personality. She has personal reasons for going against the Shadow Broker (He tried to sell Shepard's body to the Collectors). She got angry at Javik because he was suggesting something that was completely foreign to her ( the fact that Athame was actually Prothean and the Protheans had helped their people evolve.)

But speaking of which... in Synthesis, if Liara preserves Shepard's memories well enough... if Shepard had a greybox, she could be the beneficiary of Liara's recovered memories and perhaps return to life in the same way that Keiji has been confirmed to. Plus be effectively immortal. It may be that she and Liara can have a happy ending in this version after all... especially if the Synthesis alterations allow for them to still have children anyway.

Ugh, don't remind me of the idiocy of the Synthesised Keiji reveal. There's more to a person's mind than just a snapshot of some memories; having them brought back to life from just those is nothing more than waving the space magic wand of bull**** +5.

I'm quite frankly shocked with how far Bioware went with trying to portray Synthesis as the fairy tale happy ending. Apart from Shepard not surviving, it's depicted as more diabetes-inducing than anything that all the pre-EC pro-ending players and particularly 'game journalists' mocked us 'whiny entitled complainers' of wishing for.
I have this nagging feeling that ME3 got the crap ending it did just because someone at Bioware (*cough*Casey*cough*Walters) fell in love with the idea of a technological utopia and decided to shove it down everyone's throats, no matter how badly it fitted in with the rest of the trilogy.

Another off-topic and maybe already mentioned, but Bioware have released the EC sountrack, for free.

*sigh* I will never understand haters, why can't people just focus on trying to have their own romance improved instead of trying to diminish that of others?

I'll try and improve your mood with some Forever As One love tomorrow ;)

Edit: thanks to Karmen, though, I may have to change the rating <_<

Ahem.  You may all thank me now.  I shall take my gratitude it in artwork, hugs, general statements of awe, etc.

Well... there's memories, present cognition, and general bodily functions. A sapient greybox continuance would definitely have two of those, as well as the third in some form.

Honestly the one reason I just flat out cannot like synthesis is this: you're violating the bodies of every single person in the galaxy. Without their permission.

How is that NOT a horrifying concept?

New challenge:

Find something that the Control music doesn't make seem ominous.

edit: To be on topic, I tried combining it with the Liara romance scene. Do not do this!

The good folks in the Synthesis threads have interesting ideas.

But yeah, seriously, maybe a cautious step away from the topic? Let’s

I'm up for either... depending, of course, on who's on the other end.

Speaking of which, I'm glad that Liara didn't have to feel the curse of underwear... a shame that Shepard did.

How did Shep get any work done?

The easiest but also least pleasurable solution: separate cabins and too much else to worry about to include sex, until Liara decided to go for it in case they never could again.

Pfff...implying Shepard and Liara didn't go to each other's cabins at night. As if.

I know Naomi did. The beds there are pretty big for a damn good reason. ;D

Liara does not like people who make her feel foolish or talked down to even though she herself does this ... We sometimes hate the same thing we do ourselves. Liara is far from perfect and I can see her and EW Shepard having some very healthy arguments.

Just made it passed Thessia and man it stung to actually see Shepard lose ... Liara is the last thing on Shepard's mind right now as she has to tell the asari councilor and everyone else that Cerberus has taken their only hope in beating the reapers. Yes Tali and Ash ... go cheer her up while Shepard delivers the not so good news. Image IPB

It's a nice thing to think, don't get me wrong, but the tone of the sex scene before Cronus struck me as something they hadn't been doing for a while, and had greatly missed. Though I could be wrong, and it'd give me another excuse to watch it again... for research purposes, of course.

Hey guys,i just found out that my save got the Liara romance bug,i romanced Liara in me1 and in the LOTSB.But she still says that its been years since they were together in the beginning of ME3 on the first conversation aboard the Normandy. There are some changes on the romance overall?

Also,on Earth,Liara mentioned about the little blue children, she says that always,or its just when you have the LOTSB save?

I tend to assume the Reaper War actually goes on for at least a couple of months - filled up mostly with the sort of missions that are implied by the planet scanning missions - despite the game sort of implying it only lasts a few days. In which case I can't see Shepard and Liara waiting until just before Cronos.
