But speaking of which... in Synthesis, if Liara preserves Shepard's memories well enough... if Shepard had a greybox, she could be the beneficiary of Liara's recovered memories and perhaps return to life in the same way that Keiji has been confirmed to. Plus be effectively immortal. It may be that she and Liara can have a happy ending in this version after all... especially if the Synthesis alterations allow for them to still have children anyway.
Ugh, don't remind me of the idiocy of the Synthesised Keiji reveal. There's more to a person's mind than just a snapshot of some memories; having them brought back to life from just those is nothing more than waving the space magic wand of bull**** +5.
I'm quite frankly shocked with how far Bioware went with trying to portray Synthesis as the fairy tale happy ending. Apart from Shepard not surviving, it's depicted as more diabetes-inducing than anything that all the pre-EC pro-ending players and particularly 'game journalists' mocked us 'whiny entitled complainers' of wishing for.
I have this nagging feeling that ME3 got the crap ending it did just because someone at Bioware (*cough*Casey*cough*Walters) fell in love with the idea of a technological utopia and decided to shove it down everyone's throats, no matter how badly it fitted in with the rest of the trilogy.
