What do you think Liara's flaws are?
Lust for power.
Not in a mustache twirling evil genius sort of way, as Liara intends to use her power as Shadow Broker for the greater good. But when Liara first becomes Shadow Broker you do get a sense that she also enjoys it. "I've got all the secrets of the galaxy at my fingertips. Give me ten minutes, and I can start a war."
Replace power with knowledge and you've got it. She never loses her scientific curiosity, though her sense of wonder is dulled a bit by the end of the series (understandable, when every discovery is some new horror or prophecy of doom).
"
I've got all the secrets of the galaxy at my fingertips. [i]Give me ten minutes, and I can start a war."
This statement, especially the way it is delivered by her, reveals not the rush of newfound power, but wonder at the knowledge before her. Of course, as the saying goes "knowledge is power", however the pursuit of knowledge for its own sake, and for the sake of understanding (which sums up many academic proffessions) is far nobler than the pursuit of knowledge for the power that may be derived from it.
Later, in ME3, if you bring her along to the Cerberus HQ mission she muses about the danger of the knowledge and power that can be derived from the Reapers and Protheans, and mentions that she feared what lengths she would have gone to if it was in her power to save Thessia via some twisted technology. This reminds of the after-the-fact guilt and fear of one's own capabilites that was prevalent in the scientists responsible for the start of the atomic age. At the beginning they were just researchers (like Liara) war and desperation turned their research into weapons, and they hated themselves for what they were capable of creating. Someone who lusted after power would have basked in this, not rejected it.
