Hence why I said opinion. If it's not stated in the Codex, we're all welcome to speculate, right? We've been doing that a lot lately anyway.

I personally think that the skin wouldn't be shown to be different than a human's if it wasn't going to feel a bit different - otherwise it's a purely visual distinction.

The different skin texture makes everything a little extra-erotic for me, Human skin get's a bit boring after a while.

I always assumed it was soft. If it was scaly you'd have the same chafing problem that Mordin warns you about when you romance Garrus.

One thing that wasn't metioned on your thread is that Liara has a tenancy to friend zone the player, (for example, during the time capsual scene, she acknowlages Shepard as a friend). Whilst I know some of those scenes were intentional, it makes her script feel, inconsistant!

A turian's skin is made of a metallic carapace, which is different. While Liara's one may be rougher than a human's, I doubt that it would be anything substantial to warrant a warning from Mordin.

I'm also of TheDonk's opinion that's it's probably rough like the head crest is. It is evidently scaly so it can't be as smooth as a human's skin would be. It brings out another more exotic alien quality of Liara.

As vulgar as the example is, I’m going to mention again that I’m sitting on a sofa right now that looks exactly like Liara’s skin there, except black. And it’s quite smooth and supple.

Coarse grain ≠ scaly.

(You’re welcome to think that it is scaly, if you like, but there is no particular evidence in favor of that. It’s not even mentioned in the codex.)

makes us 2 with that sofa ;D

I should be clear that I mean fiarly smooth, not completely or like human skin, the scales are very fine and delicate though unmistably there.
Despite the problems with the comparison that I used last time I am going to do it again.
I think that asari skin it looks like serpent skin which despite what most people seem to think is actually very smooth and pleasent to touch, the only real difference is that asari are warm-blooded and as such their skin would be much warmer to the touch.

However I don't seem why people thinks that Liara's crest would be more rough thoughthe scales are no larger there, just more obvious as they are another colour, in Liara's case white and light blue to her bright blue skin colour elswhere.

I always thought Liara's skin in ME3 is a bit... snake-like. So she has scales (albeit very small), but her skin feels smooth at the same time.

That's what I'm trying to say myself. The scales are fine and delicate, but it would still be rougher than a human's - just not in a sense that would cause 'chafing' or anything of the sort, I'm not saying it would be like a turian's skin, which is beyond rough. You can't have the skin be scaly and be as soft as a human's at the same time, though, so I think that your analogy with serpent skin is accurate.

Why do so many people equal scaly with unpleasent? how many has actualy ever touched scales? the sensation is nowhere as unpleasent as people seem to think, neither slimey nor particularly rough, just diffirent than human skin, especially with such delicate textures as asari seems to have.

Oh, cool.

That scene with teasing Liara pretty much sums up why she's my favorite ME character. Her innocence is pretty cute.

Sorry, I should have been more specific. I meant that it's probably relatively soft based on the absence of chafing. I think it's probably a different texture than human skin but again we're really not given much by the game or codex.

Of course! I’m sorry, I realize my wording may have seemed harsher than I intended it. I only meant to say that I did not see anything that prescribed it as scaly so, to flip it around, I was free to go on thinking it was smooth.

Yup. My Shepard pretty much fell in love with Liara the moment she saw her, but that scene sealed the deal. I still miss that bumbling, awkward side of Liara. It completely disappeared in ME2, and we only saw the briefest hints of it in ME3.

I've always enjoyed seeing the awkward side of Liara from ME1, but what I especially liked about her was her determination and courage to admit her feelings for her commanding officer without fear, even with the little experience she's had with people before. That was what sealed the deal for me personally.

I'm not sure which side of Liara I prefer, her innocent/cute side in ME1, or her darker/sexy side in ME3.

Hey, thanks - I really like it myself! I love her look here, can't help but smile at her every time I see it. ^_^

Haha, she's always been cute and sexy throughout all three games! I can't be the only one who thought her advance on Shepard in ME1 when she admitted her feelings for him/her was sexy - to say nothing of the romance scene. And she was rather cute in many of her scenes in ME3 - the Citadel date and the 'flatterer' scene to name a few!

I will always prefer the ME1 Liara over the ME2 Liara, but I think ME3 struck a nice balance between the two. They returned her to her scientist roots, and allowed some of her awkwardness to shine through on occasion.

I love how Liara changed from Me1 to 3. Out of all members she changed the most and I like it.

Yepp and that's something I loved about ME3. I mean, Liara changed a lot during the trilogy, mostly on the outside (imo), but in ME3 (and also in LotSB) you could see that she's still in there. ^_^
