I was amazed that the two reported wisest of the species (asari & salarians) seemed less involved initially. Turians and krogans were in the trenches almost at the start ... but I also noticed how the reapers focused on their worlds first. The actual fighting species were focused on by the reapers. Smart.

Strangely, I don't think I've read any. Unless Theo is the one who wrote that one rather long one with naked asari hunting sharks, and was written even before ME2 came out. I did read that, though it was a while back.Akernis wrote...

P.s. I have a piece of the chapter I am working on that I would like an opinion on if anyone wants to beta read, though doing so will spoil one of the plot points for those who prefer to read it in its entirety.

I'd love to do that, Akernis, though I can do so from the day after onwards. Tomorrow's going to be pretty busy. Regardless, if you want a beta reader quick, I might be able to help with future works.Akernis wrote...

Even if my Shepard didn't want to go Thessia, I figure that Liara would want to, and depending on what your headcanon ending is, the Citadel is pretty badly damaged. Having the fics be in Thessia really give for incredible opportunities to explore another side of the alien planet we never got to see in the games, unfortunately.Xilizhra wrote...
Having a family, most definitely, but I'd wondered for my own Shepard if it might not be on the Citadel rather than Thessia...

I suppose I don't like cities that much anyway. Though it'd make her position as Spectre instructor a bit awkward... then again, I'd think that Thessia is the racial homeworld with the most members of other species on it anyway.Even if my Shepard didn't want to go Thessia, I figure that Liara would want to, and depending on what your headcanon ending is, the Citadel is pretty badly damaged. Oh, Thessia is far more than just cities - there's so much potential for exploring the wilderness of the planet, similar and yet so different than you might find on Earth.Xilizhra wrote...

Indeed, the "I don't like cities that much" was about the Citadel. As for the rest of the planet, it does seem to be high in biotic-using life, although it may seem somewhat tame after the Reapers.Oh, Thessia is far more than just cities - there's so much potential for exploring the wilderness of the planet, similar and yet so different than you might find on Earth.

Shepard and Liara living with their kids on the rim of the city. Close enough for shopping, sight seeing ect and enough distance to see the nature of Thessia and go for a walk, playing and stuff. xD

That's the plan, yeah, though I heard that their latest intentions are to go far, far away into the mountains, as much away from the cities as possible, and enjoy the untouched and pristine wilderness in one of the most beautiful places on the planet - just the two of them.Ravii wrote...

I personally liked that we were given the ability to reaffirm the relationship as some players get bored of their LIs. However, I think this scene should have played out differently for players who had stayed loyal to Liara, it would have been cool if Shepard declared his/her eternal love for Liara, or proposed marriage, or did something to acknowledge our loyalty. I can't help but think BioWare did a half job of the romances in ME3!ratzerman wrote...
Agreed. Other than the endings, that was the worst part of the entire game for me. Having to remind the woman my Shepard has been faithful to throughout the trilogy that she wants to be "more than friends" was ridiculous.lillitheris wrote...

For the record, the latter's not a bug. You can still decide to be with someone else up until that point (even if you tell Liara you want to rekindle your relationship in that first conversation in her office...) so we needed a way to definitively communicate to the player "OK, listen, this is absolutely it for choosing your one true romance". I went for the most obvious paraphrase possible to avoid any confusion over whether this was the moment you became a serious, together-forever item.
This, by the way, was an epicly horrible decision…I still refuse to believe they did that intentionally and had other options; I choose to read it as “we were actually supposed to write this whole romance arc for Liara but we ran out of time, so you’re just buddies”.
What JayPlays said is spot on. It seems romances in ME3 in general is very half hearted. They would put two different krogans depending on if saved Wrex or not, but they can't have two dialogu trees for Liara depending on your LI choices? And it's even less if you romance characters like say Ashley/Kaidan or Tali whom you don't see until late in the game, mostly likely.

Speaking of which, what do you picture your Shepards doing with Liara once the war is over? Mine actually intends to resign her commission with the Alliance; her first interest was actually diplomacy, and that's what she wanted to be back before the Mindoir attack changed her life. I see her as being more of an instructor for new Spectres; now that the insanely violent/risky phase of her life has ended, she wants to be there for her and Liara's children. After they get married (which I'd initially considered as being private, but I think they'd be willing to have it be more public as a morale booster for the postwar) and go on a long, secluded honeymoon, at any rate.
That sounds interesting!
My take can (eventually) be found in “ME4: Unity”…right now we’re only 4 days post-ending (Destroy-ish, slightly fixed), and half the pair is yet to regain consciousness. I’m actually quite interested in the aftermath, so I’m exploring that aspect of their lives before getting to any settled existence.

Oh, absolutely, I agree. I hope my post didn't come across as trying to convince you you're view is wrong, as that was not my intention at all. I'm only trying to explain my own interpretation, not force it on anyone else.
Besides, I love E.W. and Liara's story way too much to dream of trying to change how you see them. I would mention something about respecting your artistic vision, but just using that phrase would make me seem like a troll

Well, after they pulled my very wounded butt from the Citidel rubble. We would settle down on Thessia, where Liara would inform me that that last little mind meld we did in London... she concieved. And then she has the silliness to ask me if I'm happy about it.
The rest is inconcequential.

I think Liara would very much want to go to Thessia. She clearly feels she hasn't done enough for her people.
General Elizabeth Shepard would therefore arrange to be transferred to act as a consultant to help with the reforms of the Asari armed forces that are likely to take place following the war. While Liara would probably mix being an intelligence analyst for the Asari government with doing sciencey things - lots of papers to be written up on things discovered during the course of the war and during the construction of the Crucible.

Last night I had dream where Liara asked Shepard "Are you sure about this?" and Shepard "Yes I'm, I like it". Then Liara started dancing like the Asari from Purgatory/Afterlife and later both women landed in bed and had fun.

Seriously, no idea. I guess it improved considering how everything is so "perfect" after Synthesis, so why not sex too?
