Actually thought about doing some pinup posing of that era's style with Liara and others for the "Photographer" series before. Maybe I'll really have to give that a go now in the future.

I'd love to be able to lucid dream, but I can barely remember my dreams as it is.

Lately I have dreams after dreams about Liara, Shepard and other things and sometimes I'm at the point where as you said outlandish things in your dream won't wake you up. Really amazing and if I'm awake later that day I thin about these dreams.

So I think Mass Effect 3 is his last 'adventure.' He quietly retires from the Alliance and tries, as much as possible, to avoid the limelight. He refuses all interviews and book or movie deals, and uses Liara's connections to assume a new identity and maintain some level of anonymity.

I see Liara remaining Shadow Broker for a few more years, devoting all her efforts and resources to getting the galaxy back on it's feet. Eventually though I see her stepping down as well, turning the reigns over to Feron, and returning to a 'quiet' life as a scientist and an academic.

I agree with you about Liara, I think she will stay on as the SB helping all the different races throughout the galaxy in the repair and rebuild department after the war but once all those she has helped are back on their feet she will probably dissolve the network altogether unless she thinks Feron is capable enough to handle the role himself. Liara won't be unoccupied for long though, like alot of fanfictions I have read I can picture her returning to her one true love, her scientists roots and teaching about the Protheans at Serrice University perhaps. 

Liara would relish her new position, I could just imagine her face lighting up as she teaches all her students about the wonders of the Prothean empire, her experience meeting a real life Prothean, the dangers she encountered while on her numerous research dig sites and so on. Her course would be a hot ticket no doubt because of her celebrity, she would probably have to remind her students that she is there to teach about the Protheans not her role in the war or talk about her famous bondmate:D

Having just come out of a warm sunday-afternoon-summer-rain (and having stopped dripping), here's something that crossed my mind while I watched friends running around in light-hearted panic and listened to the raindrops exploding on my head:

Shep and Liara sit in Hyde park (rebuilt) / Janiri's Meadow city park on Thessia / on a remote piece of wild flowered green on an even more remote paradise world in the warm sun, having a romantic picnic and giggling like only lovers do.
Suddenly dark clouds come up on the horizon, the formerly bright blue sky darkens in a matter of minutes and the first thick raindrops start to fall. (No thunder and no lightning though, no need to fear anything.)

Will Liara
a) hastily throw all the romantic food in the romantic picnic basket and perfrom a not quite as romantic dash for the next tree?
stand up and run around in the dense rain, laughing and catching drops with her mouth?
c) do something else entirely?

And will Shep follow her lead or just rofl around on the soaked romantic picnic blanket?

Nice, interesting read so far!
Though not having read part 1-24 yet, I probably lack a bit of perspective for the actual story.

After the war?

Liara will return to Thessia where she will help rebuild with her people as she mourns the loss of Shepard, loved ones, the destruction of her city Armali. But a small part of her will refuse to believe that Shepard is gone ... this hope is made stronger every time an MIA or presumed KIA turns up alive. Slowly but surely her feeling that Shepard is alive goes from a whisper to a scream in her. She reaches out to Hackett on the Shepard and he tells her, as he does everyone else, that they are still looking for her on the Citadel.
Hackett: Liara, it will take time. Shepard could be anywhere on the Citadel ... but don't give up hope. If anyone could survive ... Shepard could.
Liara: Thank you, Admiral.
As she goes about her daily life on Thessia ... focused on the rebuilding and healing of her people, she has to believe that Shepard is still out there or ... or ... "No, Shepard is alive!"


Mass Effect 3: Crying Liaraby ~EnkiduTheRevelator 

Shepard will be found unconscious after 48 hours on the Citadel barely alive. Hackett had sent a team to search for the bodies of Anderson and Shepard almost straightaway. Once found, he had her moved to an Alliance hospital under secrecy where she will stay in a coma for a month. He and those tending her did not notify others or share with the media that she was found alive. He did notify her family and had them brought to where she was. Grandma Shepard once there never left her side during that time with her daughter, Aunt Mel. After Shepard awakens and once strong enough leaves the hospital to recuperate on Tybee Island. Suffering tremors, nerves worn, body weak ... she will stay dead to everyone but her family for another six months as she regains her strength.
 
She thinks about Liara but doesn't want her to see her as she currently is ... not like this, Shepard tells herself as she looks at her shaking hands, tears falling from her eyes. Standing on the beach, looking out at the Atlantic Ocean she prays for Liara and all of her loved ones safety and happiness. She tells herself that Liara is better without her but she still checks up on her through Hackett and the extranet. She knows that she has to get better, emotionally and physically ... that is where her focus is.

After that ...               



Child: So did the Shepard and the asari ever see each other again, grandpa?
Grandpa: Well ... that story I'll leave for tomorrow.

I don't see Liara enjoying getting rained on, so I think she'd try for 'option a.'  Unfortunately, my Shepard is something of an immature jackanapes, so not only would she refuse to help at all, she'd also refuse to hand over the car keys.  This would result in exasperated arguing that ends in Shepard taking 'option b' while Liara tries to maintain her dignity.  Until eventually she gives in and they end up having a gigantic water fight that Shepard loses because Liara has biotics.


Edit: What do you think, FdL_Ananas?  You came up with the question, did you have an answer in mind?  (Also, your edits of 'Unconditional Surrender'/'The Kiss' are wicked awesome!!)
