Not Liara, but since we're on the whole retro 40s theme...

Lucid dreaming is really, really hard to do. If you've gotten that far though, that's most of the way. Eventually you can get to where outlandish things in your dreams won't wake you up.
I'd love to be able to lucid dream, but I can barely remember my dreams as it is.

Speaking of which, what do you picture your Shepards doing with Liara once the war is over? Mine actually intends to resign her commission with the Alliance; her first interest was actually diplomacy, and that's what she wanted to be back before the Mindoir attack changed her life. I see her as being more of an instructor for new Spectres; now that the insanely violent/risky phase of her life has ended, she wants to be there for her and Liara's children. After they get married (which I'd initially considered as being private, but I think they'd be willing to have it be more public as a morale booster for the postwar) and go on a long, secluded honeymoon, at any rate.
By the end of Mass Effect 3 his outlook has changed somewhat. From Elysium to the Reaper War he's seen enough death and destruction to last several lifetimes, and there just isn't much fight left in him. He is tired of the killing, tired of seeing friends struck down, and tired of living a life where the next moment could be your last. He's proud of his service in the Alliance, but also ready to pass the reigns to the young lieutenants for whom the Reaper War was their Elysium. He is looking forward to finally settling down and finding that quiet corner of the galaxy to escape to, where he and Liara could live the rest or their lives in peace.
So I think Mass Effect 3 is his last 'adventure.' He quietly retires from the Alliance and tries, as much as possible, to avoid the limelight. He refuses all interviews and book or movie deals, and uses Liara's connections to assume a new identity and maintain some level of anonymity.
I see Liara remaining Shadow Broker for a few more years, devoting all her efforts and resources to getting the galaxy back on it's feet. Eventually though I see her stepping down as well, turning the reigns over to Feron, and returning to a 'quiet' life as a scientist and an academic.

I’ll mention it here for a change, too: “ME4: Unity” is up to Chapter 25. No absence of Liara in this one, either!
Might be you did, but feel free to continue anyway ...doozer12 wrote...

Shep and Liara sit in Hyde park (rebuilt) / Janiri's Meadow city park on Thessia / on a remote piece of wild flowered green on an even more remote paradise world in the warm sun, having a romantic picnic and giggling like only lovers do.
Suddenly dark clouds come up on the horizon, the formerly bright blue sky darkens in a matter of minutes and the first thick raindrops start to fall. (No thunder and no lightning though, no need to fear anything.)
Will Liara
a) hastily throw all the romantic food in the romantic picnic basket and perfrom a not quite as romantic dash for the next tree?stand up and run around in the dense rain, laughing and catching drops with her mouth?
c) do something else entirely?
And will Shep follow her lead or just rofl around on the soaked romantic picnic blanket?

She thinks about Liara but doesn't want her to see her as she currently is ... not like this, Shepard tells herself as she looks at her shaking hands, tears falling from her eyes. Standing on the beach, looking out at the Atlantic Ocean she prays for Liara and all of her loved ones safety and happiness. She tells herself that Liara is better without her but she still checks up on her through Hackett and the extranet. She knows that she has to get better, emotionally and physically ... that is where her focus is.
After that ...

Child: So did the Shepard and the asari ever see each other again, grandpa?
Grandpa: Well ... that story I'll leave for tomorrow.
