@FdL_Ananas: Wow, that looks like an actual photograph! (Not that I have any sort of credentials that would allow me to critique your work, but Liara's neck seemed a bit slender for me... that was the only 'break with realism,' I guess, though I'm pretty sure it's only because of the angle of the picture. The highlight in her eye didn't bother me.
@PMC: I'm so glad I'm not the only person who thought Anderson was the worst Councilor ever! After I bumped into him on the Citadel in ME2, I always let the Council pick who would take the seat.... Even the vengeful Shepards, who didn't want anything good to happen to Donnel "You're becoming more trouble than you're worth, Shepard" Udina.

As for the highlight in Liara's eye, are we talking about the light reflecting in her pupil? That didn't bother me at all; if anything, the game has conditioned me to expect there to always be some light reflected in her eyes

The Miranda thread’s got some good discussions on the topic, though (as well as ‘taking Cerberus back’, but don’t get me started on that…)

The backstory Sapkowski has created for the current status of the non-human races is absolutely brilliant, if a little subtle. You won’t be disappointed.

I don't think she'd WANT to be a Councilor. She wouldn't want to be hamstrung by needing to play political games in order to get things accomplished. That's just not her style.

That too. She’s more Spectre material

I can see Miranda being a good Councilor, but I tend to think of Spectres as being a bit too blunt for her tastes. She probably prefers the methods that asari commandos use--infiltration and sabotage--as opposed to the Spectre method of "let's blow everything up and see if that fixes it." (While there are probably a lot of discrete Spectres, the one I 'know' best is Shepard, and subtle, she ain't). I guess Miranda would be more of an asari commando or STG type of Spectre. More assassination than containment?
I'm sure this question has been asked before, but I'm curious to hear people's answers:
Post ME3, does Liara stay Shadow Broker? If not, why not, and what else is she doing? If so, how does she keep herself honest without the threat of the Reapers? (And possibly without Shepard's influence).
Personally, I don't see her as abandoning her role as Shadow Broker. Not for a while anyway. I can see her trying to build on her mother's legacy of inter-species cooperation and trying to use her position as Shadow Broker to help 'lesser' species. That might be nice, I think.
Edit:
@Crimson N7: The thing about that choice is that Udina's appointment becomes just another one in a long line of terrible decisions the Council is responsible for, lol!!

Lol Batlass "let's blow everything up and see if that fixes it", my Shep in a nutshell:lol:
About Liara after the war like you I don't think she will abandon her SB role immediately afterwards, I can see her staying on for a few more years, helping the different races get back on their feet again. When she accomplishes that she will probably dissolve the network altogether, perhaps not trusting anyone else with the control it wields or if Feron proves capable enough she may hand over the reins to him.
She took the role to help Shep but it wears on her and I think at heart she would prefer to return to her roots, teaching at Serrice University perhaps in the future, settling down with Shep, having a normal life again.

I'm going to start writing a Fic Femshep/liara(Pre ME 1, back story stuff), Got most of what I want to write sort of planned out. I was thinking would it be a good idea if I had her in her first relationship (with a asari, of cause), with the girlfriend pushing for her to "Take the next step" but having her decline and run away in a emotional wreak to a dig (Therum or some other location depending at what time I decide to write it in).
I'm not entirely sure if it would be out of character or not. I also thinking on putting in the conversation when she says "I haven't done 'this' before" but rewording it to fit.
Most likely a rubbish idea. *stares at the bin*

Same here with the thoughts about her beeing the Shadow Broker from Batlass8 and CrimsonN7. After that I think she will move with Shepard together and finally live their happy and relaxed life. After all they both want to spent their life together. I can see Liara and Javik writing that book they talked about and they both searching for unkown prothean ruins and study them. Also Javik needs a job as he said and I think they both would make a great researchteam.

Hold that thought, some of the other posters here who write fanfic would be better to advise you on this. I think PMC her background story to Liara had a similar issue, she was in a long-term relationship with an older asari who was also pressuring her to meld but Liara didn't feel ready to give herself to her yet. I liked this twist myself, it's different and plausible. Liara when she meets Shep is still a melding virgin as it is in game too.

I've been noting any ideas that have popped in my head all day got 5 A5 pages filled, not all Liara but yeah.

I like Javik. I could never let him touch that shard and relive that memories.
Edit:
@mavqt
Shepard says to Javik "There is a saying. Let old ghosts rest." than Javik says "There is wisdom after all in that cycle".
That's not 100% what they talk about but in short.

^^^Someone, write this fanfic!!
Oh my sainted aunts! Now I want ME4 to be a spinoff where these two have a cross between Indiana Jones-like adventures and a buddy cop movie. (Varren squadmate, yessss). I can't ever imagine Liara and Javik really being friendly and warm towards each other, but as barely-civil-yet-brilliant-daring-and-successful adventuring archeologists, they would be a total win!

Yeah I like to do different outcomes in numerous playthroughs, am Shep tells him to forget the past, let old ghosts rest or something, right now is not a good time to re-open old wounds basically, Javik agrees with him saying there is some wisdom left in this cycle. Even though the outcome of him touching the shard is grim I still prefer him to remember the good and bad times myself.
