Maybe it's not such a big deal when a monstor is naked cause there is nothing titllating about an ugly banshee. lol
I don't really agree with this - I think it depends on the portrayal. Tasteful nudity is a thing, you know? And I don't think something being tasteless and "pornographic" is entirely dependent on how explicit it is. For example, even with Mass Effect, I think that Miranda's sex scene is a lot more tasteless and pornographic in nature than Liara's, even though only Liara is actually naked.
More to the point, I'd still believe this even if Liara was fully rendered, all else the same, because her portrayal in her sex scene is a very tasteful one where it really seems like she's making love to Shepard, and the shots you get of her are focused on her face or are full body - which means it's focused on the emotion. Whereas Miranda had a camera zoom in front and center on her ******.
The reason full frontal nudity is usually tasteless is because it usually also comes with a style similar to Miranda's, with lots of camera zooming in on the action and basically screaming at you HEY LOOK THERE ARE ****** HERE DO YOU SEE THEM LET ME SHOW YOU instead of just focusing on the scene as a whole, and the power and emotion in it. But it doesn't have to be that tasteless.
I see what you mean. I like Liara's love scene as is. I just worry if they put full nudity in it it would be like you said.. HEY BOOBS OVER HERE.

Ah, well yeah. I didn't mean to say I think that Bioware would've handled things tastefully if they did show full nudity, but more that it is possible as a concept to have the scene executed tastefully and powerfully with nudity.
They are some strange persons in this thread. I think this thread is getting off topic and weird. From the banshees to the omni tool to the Doozer statement. I think that some people here are attracted to banshees.
Dude... calm down. The thread isn't off topic. Believe me when I tell you that omni tools are VERY on topic for Liara.
And as for being attracted to banshees... MY GOD YOU'VE FOUND US OUT.
Oh also, watch who you're calling "strange" Mr. Newbie. <_<

lol I had a very similar reaction to it all
On topic. I think they censored Liara's boobs pretty well.. you get a little side under boob there or whatever but yeah deff wanted the scene to play out just a little more naturally

Im not angry. That last part was a joke^_^.That was uncalled for and unnecessary. It wasn't directed at you.:ph34r:It seems you didn't get the joke and what i said. I said strange as in that someone is attracted to a banshee.

We'll never work in this town again...lol anyways ...down, karmen Relax folks lol just bad humor, I'm sorry if it offended. And us strange folk prefer the term asarisexual - we wont discriminate just because theyre 5 feet taller, grey skinned, freakishly long nails, dead eyes, glow in the dark breasts, and have an O-face to die for. *Ducks, as she is sure someone threw their shoe* ok! im dropping it! no more banshee humor ... at least for another few dozen pages. I promise.
As for the whole nudity issue...pretty much what arista has all ready stated x10 - hammer meet head of nail.

lol yeah I'm just glad they didn't sensor the hell out of most of the love scenes like they did in the second game. In most love scenes you just got a fade out. :/
Liara's scene was much better than the others ... if you ignored FShep in bras and panties.
Why was FShep, Ash and Traynor in bra and panties? Human gals do it in the nude as well.
Why weren't the males also naked? Kaidan's butt would have been nice ... but nope. No males are seen naked.
I don't need to see nipples and crotches but having them clothed? Really? And where did the covers go?
But then we look at Tali's, Garrus', Miranda's sexy time and even semi-clothed peeps are better than those.
Never mind Jack, Thane ... Jacob?
No ... no complaints here. Let's just hope in future games they have bare butts for both men & women and that clothes are removed when appropriate for humans and non-humans.
Nice pic Yuqi, also for a self confessed Renegade to pick control that seemed kinda different since control is a major paragon option and for the ultimate decision of the series it is a big paragon choice, essentially playing nice with the Reapers, we're all friends now lets clean up this mess.
Immortality and an impossibly strong robot army? Control is the choice for Renegades. Reactions to that choice are a different matter, of course.
Anyone else think Liara is the most cute/loveable in ME3? Her personality change in ME2 kinda shocked me, but I stayed true even though Miranda couldn't stop eying my Shep. Meeting up with her on Mars in ME3 and seeing her amazing smile and cute reactions grew my love for her 10 fold, when previously I would have thought I couldn't love her any more than I already did . Being with Shep again seemed to make her less tense and less dark than in ME2 and made her resemble her old self more.

? destroy would be the logical chice for most renegades: the most efficient and surest way to end the threat, guaranteed, regarless of moral cost (AIs).
"looks through the current 3 pages" Oh god, not the banshee fetish talk again!
Yuqi wrote... And do you think Liara would aprove of a reaper shepard?
That depends. How much is people aware of Shepard's choice and what exactly happend?
In one scenario where no one knew what happend, Liara would like everyone else be rather confused that the Reapers started becoming friendly, Liara would also simply believe that Shepard died activating the crucible.
But if Liara did know what happend? Would she approve, I would say most likely not, perhaps a little terrified, sad maybe? So many possibilities.
Beside, weren't there a fanfic posted a few pages ago that was about Liara rebelling against Catalyst!Shepard.

Actually Destroy is the paragon choice and Control is renegade. Besides Destroy having a paragon for an avatar (Anderson), the EMS requirements for the best Destroy ending are lower if Shepard destroyed the Collector Base in ME2. (a paragon decision)
In contrast Control has a renegade for its avatar (TIM) and the EMS requirements for the best Control ending are lower if Shepard kept the Collector Base in ME2. (a renegade decision)
On Liara, Banshees, and nudity...
I wonder if it has something to do with ratings systems. I know in some countries games can get away with graphic violence if the 'victims' are monsters, but if the characters are humans it gets a more mature rating or sales are restricted. Maybe something similar is at play with nudity.
Otherwise the decision by Bioware to have nude monsters in the game while Fem Shep climbs into a shower fully clothed, is a bit odd.

Who else picked control? And do you think Liara would aprove of a reaper shepard?
I would totally choose Control if the epilogue was like this:
Lol that is epic.
@PMC Nice headcannon, but she's find out somehow, at least if she is as smart as she seems to be.Hmnn..
@karmen I felt like a change..

It wasn't an easy choice, but it was the first one I picked.Synthesis just irked me,and who would want to ruin those blue eyes with green?Ick.
There were some moments when Liara was skeptical of Paragon Shepards descisions.I can't remember specifics since I only have two paragons.
Also if you must know what Omni-tool is about Google: liara omnitool..:innocent:

Anyone notice how they're always zooming in on Miranda's ass? Miranda looks great and all but the story with her sister never really pulled me in and bleh just ended up more interested in Liara.
I totally agree with Liara's romance scene was definately more like making love instead of Miranda's where it was kind of tasteless. The main reason Liara is naked in the romance scenes isn't because they want to show her naked.. it's just staying true to the character, Asari just don't wear bras and stuff (that's how I've always seen it). It was kind of annoying too watch though because it seemed like they were holding back a bit trying not to show certain body parts (like at the beginning where her whole back is shaded like a censor.. I guess trying not to get in trouble with FOX again).. I still loved it tho just wish it was longer
Liara romance scene > All other LI romance scenes
At least it wasn't like the shower scene...Underwear in the shower? Really? They could've used steam or something to cover the chest.
Hay Miranda is awsome; it's not her fault she was railroaded into a sex symbol!!I(I wish they'd used another accent though..) I also think anyone who breaks up with her in ME3 should be hung, cut, and quartered.
Liaras romance scene, hmnn..I wouldn't say it's the best. And alot of her content is the same whether she is a freind.aquantince,or romance. So in a way Liara actually got less romance specific content.
At least with Control ending, you know nobody will succsessfuly hack the SB network...
Yuqi wrote... There were some moments when Liara was skeptical of Paragon Shepards descisions.I can't remember specifics since I only have two paragons.
I can't remember Liara being skeptical of Paragon Shepard but in ME2 pre-LotSB Shepard's paragon response to Liara asking for help is to deny her that help since what she is asking would be illigal. Really Shepard? you are gong to turn away from helping the most significant person in your life becuase she is not tip-toing on the law-and-order line One of those places where I always pick renegade despite being primarily a paragon player.
Also I wanted to pitch in on the translator discussion even if it was a few pages back. I assume that the translators are implanted and linked with the auditory part of the brain, and change the language the bearer hear though not the voice of the speaker, so rather than hearing two voices speaking in tandem you would just hear the person speaking in their own voice but in your language, exactly as we (the players) experience it in the game.
In my headcanon Shepard has taught himself Thessian Amali (even though every asari dialect is exceedingly complex and he has far from mastered it yet) which I presume is what Liara speaks and she in turn has learned human english, as such both have their translators deactivated from translating that and can thus understand each others native tongue when talking to each other.
Did anyone bring Liara and Kaidan along on missions in ME1?
I always change squadmates for missions so that by the end of the game I've used them all, but I don't believe I've ever had Liara and Kaidan on the same team. I'm just curious which of the two ends up arguing for the renegade path on major decisions like the fate of the Rachni Queen or the Council, since both characters are the biggest paragons on the ME1 squad.

That's an intereseting canon and would make a lot of sense. And because of their chemistry and feelings for each other it is easier for them.
Edit:@Han Shot First I don't know because after I get Liara I always have her and Garrus on my squad. Except for some sidemission I switch through the team. The only thing I can remember while Liara and Kaidan were on my squad was that they talked about their biotics in the elevator on the citadel.

Did take them both for the Rachni mission, Kaidan ended up with the, "Its better to kill them" side of the argument, with all these convos in ME 1 and ME 2 you almost always get one character saying somthing for each side (main exception being the collector base destroy/keep where only Mordan advise keep).

I pretty much only use Kaidan and Liara in ME 1, (my two favourite characters) and if i'm remembering correctly as it's been a few months since I last played, Liara always takes the renegade lines unless you have renageded Kaidan.

Pretty much this, Liara is more renegade than Kaidan, the only execption is the Rachni queen decision where Liara will always vouch for sparing her (with Wrex always vouching to kill).
