The fact that FemShep answers to these flirts on her own in auto-dialogue - now that is a very good example of something being forced. And it made me cringe as well.

There are no scenes like that with Liara unless you choose to initiate them.

Yuck I hated these types of forced flirting Femshep players had to put up with. The whole Jacob saga was scarring enough but re-applying it again in ME3.:pinched: In all my playthroughs I never once let Vega call me Lola, when he first said that I was like am disrespectful much, watch your tone, you ain't that cute newbie<_< Would have prefered to chuck him out the airlock, Grunt I miss you, gotta put up with this meathead unfortunately. Pity Liara couldn't have had a quiet word with that idiot:bandit:

Favoutire Liara moment, NOT INCLUDING ROMANCE MOMENTS.

Definitely the time capsule scene. I can't gush about it enough, really. Even including romance moments, it's probably my favorite one with Liara. I've talked at length about it, but just this gesture of her making the effort and spending the time even with all of her responsibilities to make this device says more about her than words can, really. And sharing it with Shepard and asking for his/her opinion speaks of how strong their friendship and bond is.

The whole scene - starting from Liara holding the device outside Shepard's door and eagerly waiting for it to open, until the very end, is perfect. And of course, this goes without saying but at least an indication that Shepard and Liara are in a relationship would have definitely made it even better - as people have suggested, just having Liara rest her head on Shepard's shoulder would have been enough for that. Other than that, though, I wouldn't have the scene go any differently.

Agreed, without a doubt, that scene is wonderful Image IPB
I still prefer some of the romance moments and still think the time capsule scene should either have been romance exclusive or have had romance elements, but never mind that, I really love that scene.

Ditto to Therodoro and Akernis. But yeah it missed that romance moment to make it the best. (Inc romance scenes.)

I'm tempted to say Liara fumbling over her words in ME1, but I guess those dialogues are technically already romance moments. Or maybe the non-romance Gift scene, but I think I might be overvaluing it because I probably can't disassociate it from my love for the romance version. So I guess I'll just nod along with others and say the time-capsule scene.

Ah, that's easy!  Mars.  That introduction to Liara on Mars where she's scrambling around in the airducts, and being chased by two big Cerberus guys who are obviously nowhere near agile enough for this pursuit to have been a good idea, and she's desperate to escape, but I always get the sense that there's a part of her that's really enjoying the whole thing, because those two troopers look so stupid.  Of course, that's followed by her jumping out of the vents and having her awesome singularity/shot to the face moment, which just makes it even better.

I'm not kidding, I laughed a lot the first time I saw this scene, partially from amusement and partially because it just made me so happy.  Then I restarted the Mars mission so I could watch it again.  (From about 01:18-02:00 in the link).

This.  All of this. ...and also when she shoots 'em both, watching that little walk she does when she's being a bad ass before pulling the trigger.  Grinned like an idiot the entire scene.  ALthough its about equal on my charts as say first finding her on therum, finding her in her goofy little predicament, and she think she's hallucinating.  classic.

Time Capsule is really touching though, when you think about it. As well as the final goodbye scene if your just a friend with her, that shoulder rest thing - definately warrants an honorable mention.

Also: @moree,akernis, devil - rofl *toasts* Don't ever change.  Your entrance with the portable bar and banshee handmaidens had me in stiches.  Oh the imagery.

Eh clearly not enough blue, this must be remedied.

Very cool.

It is a shame Liara didn't have a Purgatory 'date' in game. She does like to dance, after all.

Oh crap! Please don´t tell me that they have gotten loose!

BTW: I have a load of available asari stored in the cellar, which Moree and Kilshrek still haven´t taken into possesion.
If you want, you can go collect one or two for.. uhhh... "personal" use:D. Now if you´ll excuse me...

+1 That scene pretty much summed up Liara, always brings a smile to my face:wub: Like Theo has said the scene works fine as it is as a friendship but for me something simple like Liara saying when Shep asks her to tell future generations about him/her maybe having Liara saying that Shepard was more than just her commander and friend, don't know if she could say her bondmate yet but if you remained faithful up till that point I'd want Liara to say that Shep is her bondmate, not just wait until the date to declare it. Or a cuddle after she joins you on the couch or have her lean on your shoulder.

So I just quickly went through a default me3 playthrough, and yeah..I can see what the others are saying, about Liara being forced. I do think its intentional though, at least on a default ME3 playthrough.  Urrgh yep DA is better in this area.

I, for one, never understood that argument. How is Liara 'forced', and what made you understand that? I'm perfectly sure that Liara never makes any kind of move on Shepard in ME3 unless you pick the dialogue option that you want to be more than friends with her during the Citadel date scene. Just because she has more screen time, she's 'forced'?

I really don't get this argument. Just forget that she's even a possible love interest, because that is irrelevant now because the content she has in a default no-romance game has nothing to deal with that other than her being Shepard's friend just like the rest of the crew try to be pretty much no matter the dialogue options you choose. Are James, EDI, Joker, Anderson, Hackett and Shepard forced too?

In certain scenes you have to be nice to her, even the renegade dialouge in  the cabin scene. However I understand that because all the other LI can die.. its easier to write for Liara.(OR maybe it's because she has a female writer?)

Someone asked her about that forced flirting  at supanova, and it was the devs who told her too. They were trying toforce JAcob on us,, and make him the prrrrrrizeeeeeeeee.

Just like they were with Vega.Unfortunatly this is the problem with no neutral option,The paragons can't avoid it too my recolection.

SOmetimes I wonder if the devs told the actor, to put more effor into Liara in me3. At least with English version.I'm sick of the wholething..*Goes back to dragonage* Isay all you broshep players check out the Italian version if you can..

Also theodoro more Mshep stuff you write it brilliantly.

I kind of like the date scene non romance version. ( It broke my heart but I wanted to know the dialogue)

Shepard: "And who knows, maybe you'll settle down after this".
Liara: "C'mon, you don't see me going into civilian life do you?"
Shepard: "No, but I figure all the more reason to stay in touch."
Liara: "Someone to share a few secrets with?"
Shepard: "Exactly."
