That must have been one wild night.

More like a wild 1,5 minutes. The Prothean cypher transfer didn't take much longer if I recall correctly:pinched:

No, it didn't.  That whole scene seems weird to me if you take Liara with you.  Shiala mentioned following Benezia for the past 200 years and Liara said nothing to her?  I would think Liara knows Shiala and Shiala knows Liara.  But neither say anything to the other.

Image IPB

Shiala was one of Benezia's acolytes I think she said. Having followed Benezia for 200 years she was already her student at the time Liara was born so unless Benezia kept Liara away from everything that had anything to do with her teaching others, the two must have known eachother. Though it's possible that Shiala only knows of Liara. The latter never introduced her during the meeting on Feros so it's possible Shiala didn't recognize Liara. And she has spent her entire adult life thus far on remote digs, probably never coming into contact with her mother, much less her acolytes.
Liara's eyebrows are a dead giveaway however, especially considering she's the only asari along with Benezia to actually have eyebrows.

I was hoping Shiala was going to say something amusing about something Liara did as a child. Missed opportunity I say.

A part of me head canon's Liara knowing how to fight because she took lessons from one of her mother's commandos. But even then, I'm still not sure if she's trained in martial arts and gunplay. All we know is that she trained herself to be a full biotic, to probably unlock her full potential.

I think the fact that despite being modelled after the Adept, Liara was given electronics instead of pistol training. Is to show that she had little to no gun-training at that point.

And before people point out that Sentinel Shep and Kaidan has no gun-training skills either. I would like to point to the sentinel class skill that increases pistol damage and accuracy.

Haven't played Red Dead Redemption?  Character dies and I didn't even see it coming.  You finish the last few missions playing as the son.

Oh. Well. That totally didn't spoil the ending of that game I've been meaning to buy. You douchebag.

I believe if you take Liara and Kaidan with you onto an ME1 elevator ride, Kaidan will eventually comment on Liara's biotic abilities. Liara states that while every Asari has biotic potential, a lot of them choose not to develop their skills. She also says she has developed her biotic talents to make sure she could defend herself when necessary. This is probably common knowledge but since she also says 'I never ran into anything my biotics could not handle' it seems to point out she only relies on her biotics for protection and has no skill in martial arts or gunning, at least at the time of ME1.

Okay, maybe one hundred thousand was a bit of retrospective exaggeration on my part. Now that I think about it, yeah it was only about ten thousand pages.

"Only" ten thousand :P

I didn't really see why everyone was apparently so desperate to get Tali as an LI in ME2 though, in ME1 I found her pretty boring. That's not to say I don't like her in ME2 (she's one of my favs at that point) but I just didn't find her as interesting as all of the other ME1 squaddies (minus Kaidan, blergh).

Well that's another ME 1 playthrough done, and this time I made a wild choice of killing off Kaidan instead of Ashley! Yeah baby I'm crazy and you love it! ;)

I am a bit behind on me ME2 playthroughs though, for some reason, without Liara that game is not as fun :( Go figure.

Oh well, I did get some material for my fanfic though, hopefully I will get to finishing chapter 6 in the next couple of days :P

It might have something to do with the fact that it seems a lot of BSN members want to romance everything that moves. BioWare only added to the problem by adding so many additional LI's to ME2. Now, with the promise of 'even more LI's for ME3, not necessarily squadmembers' it seems it'll only get worse. What will we get next? Krogan? Vorcha? Batarian?*

This is one of the reasons why I find replaying ME2 so tedious. Also the minning.:?

To me it's more the fact that the mission complete screen kills the immersion. In ME1, when I finish a mission I head to the next system and go explore and stuff. With ME2 when I finish a mission it's like: Hmm back on the normandy. What to do now? Alright feed my fish, check messages. Done. Hit galaxy map... hmm where to...?

Not to say I don't like ME2. I think ME2 is superior to ME1 on many fronts, just a few flaws make it harder to replay..

Luckily i can use gibbed's editor to add minerals and credits to jump that tedious part. Normally i never use those kind of things, but after playing many times really call for it

I'm thinking into play all over again just to kill Rana and Shiala, specially Shiala, i'm a bit paranoic that she could try to harm Liara, about something Benezia related we dont know about, or just for vengeance against the matriarch

Only if female Batarians have four breasts to match their eyes

Tali had a cute accent in ME1 and was a pretty useful squaddie (so many geth to hack) but I didn't really find her conversations very interesting so can't say as I see the appeal. Plus Tali put me off when she went all "die synthetics die!"

I do think it's a bit excessive that Bioware has (so far) created ten LIs over Mass Effect 1 and 2, even if 'only' six of them will be accessible for each gender. What sucks as well is that because of this massive spread it means that Bioware won't have time to really go in to depth with their squadmates now unlike the way they could in ME1. I mean, in ME2 you'll get Garrus' calibrations quite quickly, whereas (even though I'm really indifferent about him) with Kaidan in ME1 I noticed there was plenty of stuff I could talk about if I was just a dudeShep and there being no romantic interest while ME2 made it practically a requirement to romance a character to get their full dialogue throughout the game.

I agree, Robhuzz, that is annoying.  Or I thought so anyway until I started playing Final Fantasy XIII.  They give you a screen after every battle.  Needless to say, once I am done with the story line and finish the game, I doubt I will play it again.

I know, I know I'm weird, but I'd rather mine for resourses than drive the Mako.  Between the Mako and the tedious achievments, I stopped playing ME1 until after ME2 came out.

I didn't really mind the Mako, except when I was trying to get over steep mountains. I always imagined Liara screaming in terror as I inevitably went tumbling down the other side.

Resource mining wasn't a problem for me thanks to the save editor. Same goes with credits. And paragon/renegade points. ME2 is so much more fun with all of that stuff out of the way.

He's still going to die, leaving Liara alone for hundreds of years. Nothing is going to rule out that.

I think all of you are underestimating Liara, with the resources and knowledge of the Shadow Broker Liara could and most likely would start up a project of transplanting Asari cells into Shepard to extend his life.  He wouldn't even know.

Liara prepares a shot aboard a shuttle headed to Thessia.  She looks at a sleeping Shepard and pulls out a space aged hypodermus needle. As she starts to give him a shot he wakes up.
Shepard: Liara ? What are you doing ?
Liara:  Ah, yes Shepard.  This shot is a Asari immunity booster to eezoo it works for humans as well.
Shepard shrugs: ok.
Liara gives him the injection and sighs in relief

Holding and kissing his arm afterwards while watching him sleep.

How many people think she would do it ?  Raise your hands.

Liara would never even consider something like that. If you've read Redemption, you would know that.

I like that part, it has weight.

About the overall theory... meh.. ask me again after a dozen beers or so, maybe it'll sound more plausible then.

After growing up an extra blue arm i think Shep would realize =]
In general i dont think Liara would make something like that without asking first
