Shepard is almost entirely cybernetic. I wouldn't be surprised if he could live for hundreds of years.

He's still going to die, leaving Liara alone for hundreds of years. Nothing is going to rule out that.

I think all of you are underestimating Liara, with the resources and knowledge of the Shadow Broker Liara could and most likely would start up a project of transplanting Asari cells into Shepard to extend his life.  He wouldn't even know.

Liara prepares a shot aboard a shuttle headed to Thessia.  She looks at a sleeping Shepard and pulls out a space aged hypodermus needle. As she starts to give him a shot he wakes up.
Shepard: Liara ? What are you doing ?
Liara:  Ah, yes Shepard.  This shot is a Asari immunity booster to eezoo it works for humans as well.
Shepard shrugs: ok.
Liara gives him the injection and sighs in relief

Holding and kissing his arm afterwards while watching him sleep.

How many people think she would do it ?  Raise your hands.

Why4 Raises his hand.

*Raises hand in agreement* I'm wondering if that would work though? I definitely wouldn't put it pass Liara to try something like this since she cares about Shepard a lot.

Well that's another ME 1 playthrough done, and this time I made a wild choice of killing off Kaidan instead of Ashley! Yeah baby I'm crazy and you love it! ;)

I am a bit behind on me ME2 playthroughs though, for some reason, without Liara that game is not as fun :( Go figure.

Oh well, I did get some material for my fanfic though, hopefully I will get to finishing chapter 6 in the next couple of days :P

This is one of the reasons why I find replaying ME2 so tedious. Also the minning.[smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/uncertain.png[/smilie]

To me it's more the fact that the mission complete screen kills the immersion. In ME1, when I finish a mission I head to the next system and go explore and stuff. With ME2 when I finish a mission it's like: Hmm back on the normandy. What to do now? Alright feed my fish, check messages. Done. Hit galaxy map... hmm where to...?

Not to say I don't like ME2. I think ME2 is superior to ME1 on many fronts, just a few flaws make it harder to replay..

I agree, Robhuzz, that is annoying.  Or I thought so anyway until I started playing Final Fantasy XIII.  They give you a screen after every battle.  Needless to say, once I am done with the story line and finish the game, I doubt I will play it again.

I know, I know I'm weird, but I'd rather mine for resourses than drive the Mako.  Between the Mako and the tedious achievments, I stopped playing ME1 until after ME2 came out.

Oh don't get me wrong, I hate mako explorations. Or to be correct, I like the mako I just hate the terrain.
But the lack of Liara is ME2 really kills the mood till I get to Illium,
It's like, mission over:
buy some fish watch the empty fish tank
punch Kelly in the face check messages
probe Uranus mine resources
go to the next mission hang around the SB ship

I just try to get to Horizon as soon as possible, that way I can get my Liara fix a few hours in to the game. The same thing happens in ME1 where once I get access to the Galaxy Map for some reason I seem to always end up in Therum first.

Liara's pretty funny when you go to Therum last though.

I was only kidding, besides the dialogue with Liara IS pretty hilareous if you go to Therum last.
But then you think about how she spend weeks without food or water just hanging in that stasis field, it makes me sad :(

I always try to drag out Horizon as long as possible. For some reason I like the early parts of ME2 a great deal more than the rest. I really like Garrus and Mordin recruitment missions, Omega's afterlife and I guess the missions to pick up jack and grunt are kind of nice as well. After Horizon, the story seems to slow down a little. Suddenly you've got all these things to do, 3 more dossiers, visiting other planets, Loyalty missions... I just like the first 'part' of ME2 better.

Of course when Horizon finally is finished I head straight for Illium, talk to a few people, make my first permanent save and go talk to Liara....

And no Liara romance that way. That is even worse imo...

One reason why I often never finish my other playthroughs.

I'm glad I recorded it.  It is funny. Liara seems bent out of she that all those years of research now seems like a waste.  Which it wasn't.  Liara is still the one to figure out Ilos.

Yea, I normally pick her up first.  But did something different the last game.

I found the bit when Liara starts whining like a spoiled brat when she's all like "it's not fair it's not fair!!" when you basically tell her everything she had been trying to figure out about the Protheans for around fifty years pretty funny, lol.

Mind you, that was what I watched on Youtube, I could never actually do that myself.

If you spend the last 50 years on a research and then some guy came in and said that he pretty much learned everything in 5 minutes and proved your theories wrong, i'd be pretty pissed off too :P

Well it is kind of sad for her to see her life's work reduced to nothing by a random dude who was born 20 years after Liara started her prothean studies, found a beacon and voila solved the mystery. Sort of.

Liara: "And then like all great civilisations before them, they vanished. I have dedicated my life to finding out why."

Shepard: "Prothean beacon, Saren, Reapers, Conduit. Took me a week to find out. You can stay on board though because erm.. we could use your abilities"

Liara: [smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/andy.png[/smilie][smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/pouty.png[/smilie][smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/sad.png[/smilie][smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/crying.png[/smilie][smilie]http://social.bioware.com/images/forum/emoticons/devil.png[/smilie]

Kaidan*whispers*: "Abilities? Right. You think she's cute, don't you?
Shepard: "Quiet Alenko!"

Wonder if Liara managed to snatch a couple of such thoughts from Shepard during the mind-melds in the debriefing room.

Now that would make for an interesting scene. Say if Shepard cheats on Liara and continues to do so, the two of them meld again sometime in ME3. After it's all over and Shepard gets ready for the mission, Liara gets up.

Liara: "Shepard..."
Shepard: "Yes Liara?"
Liara: "What was that I just saw? About you and.. miss Lawson"
Shepard: "Erm.. oh THAT... yeah that was... erm... *awkward silence*... erm...uh oh"
