I heard KOTOR was pretty good. I never played it though. To be fair, ME is the only BioWare game I play, the majority of my games library consists of Square Enix games.

 I'm actually pretty sure I own KOTOR...I bought it when it came out, around the end of my college days, and completely forgot about it. Its probably long gone by now.

As someone who´s played & completed KOTOR.

All I can say is... GET IT!

Even though its bigger in scope, I would still call KOTOR the template for ME1.   <3

And it also has a blue alien chick...

KOTOR is amazing. it's one of those games I can still play today and actually enjoy. I only wish KOTOR2 was just as good and that they didn't make tor an mmo my computer can't handle

KOTOR was the reason I got ME1. I was bored one day, had some money, was in need of a new and good story, saw that ME1 was suggested for people who liked KOTOR and I got it without ever evn seeing a trailer

Some people make jokes about it, but they did some character, plot and VA recycling for ME1.
On the other hand, both games have the same lead writer.... if you love ME1, I can only recommend Kotor.
One of the most amazing plottwists in video gaming history.

I don't want to spoil too much. If you want, I can write you a more detailed PM later. My puppy has a playdate now.

Ah I see.. the only one ive heard of recently is Kaidan having Carth's voice.. but I killed Kaidan so *shrug*

Iv'e kinda had similar thoughts (I'm extremely gay friendly btw) but Liara always struck me as a woman who needs a man in her life. Whenever iv'e played Femshep and romanced Liara, it doesn't feel like they have the same chemistry on the level of a Maleshep who romanced Liara. I wish I had a better way of explaining my thoughts but my English vocab only goes so far.

Nope, I've never seen any problem with the femshep/liara romance. However after seeing that thread, I just wanted to get the other Liaramancers opinions on it. After all, this is the Liara fan thread, my question was on topic, and most of us are mature so I don't see any problem in that question.
