I don't mean to be rude, and perhaps this is just me being oversensative, but I really, really do not like this picture's caption.  It just doesn't sit right with me, not only because of all the Liara-haters who actually do accuse her of 'mind raping' Shepard, but also because of the all the other implications rape jokes create.

(Sorry.  I'm probably overracting b/c of work-related issues.  Serves me right for thinking criminal law would be as glamorous as Law & Order makes it seem.)

Agree. There are now three creepy Liara pictures on this page, only thing we need now is some Banshees.

Was checking dA for anything new and I just noticed how many tasteless and horrible Garry's Mod nude Liara pictures there are. <_<

Actually the face is not that bad, pretty cute in my standard, she's just not very photogenic.
But the legs are a little too long, the pose is stiff and some details on the armours are off (such as the decoration lines on her chests), the head tentacles are not right either.

Umm.. you folks do know this is NOT what the statue looks like anymore right?

I think it looks rather nicely done. And the more complaining I hear about it the more I am tempted to buy one.

This is what It looks like now. Her bust is smaller and her face is redone. See, all better. Liara's bust was always like high C-cup range anyway. There is really nuthing to complain about anymore.

^ Apart from the fact that it doesn’t look like Liara, and that it’s still oversexed, nothing to complain about. I’d rather have one that looks like, you know, Liara, but more power to you if you like it. By all means get one.

How is her standing there holding a gun, "oversexed"? Its barely, "slightly" sexually if anything. I mean please...really.

And the face looks as reasonably close to the character as any other figure of the other characters depicted, and I think this newer version is much much closer to her face model. Also it makes her look less baby-faced, which was a major complaint when it came out. Ive got to give them some credit. I think some of the fans have been too hard on that statue. Anyways, Its much better now and they seemed to have listened and addressed some of the major design conserns that were voiced.

I mean, I guess it’s closer in that it looks like it could be a gargoyle from a regular church…

But, you know, whatever floats your boat. I think it’s a travesty and an insult, you like it. It’s a wonderfully diverse world.

Its much closer then the original Statue concepts I mean. And the statue is not done in a realistic style, so its going to look a little different yes. But my point is this face is better on the newer one. It looks more mature, and looks "more" like Liara's face, at least then the previous concepts, though still not exactly like the ingame face model.

What I dislike about this Liara figurine is the term "bishôjo".

It stands for a certain type of fictional female characters in Japanese media that doesn't do justice to Liara, if you ask me. It's mostly used for underage school girls who serve as a potential love interest for the male main character (quite often in harem like constellations) and often provide fanservice despite their age. They are reduced to being naive, innocent, shy little princesses with little personality. (Okay, I noticed that haters may see Liara as absolutely "bishôjo" according to this description. :/ )

In ME1, Liara may share some of these character traits, but the approach to her portrayal, the genre and the constellation of other characters is completely different. And her character development in ME2 and ME3 can hardly be described as "bishôjo". It's a bit difficult to explain to someone who isn't familiar with the concept of "bishôjo" or Japanese anime.

Apart from the term, I don't like the style of the figurine. It's too Japanese and thus differs too much from the typical Mass Effect style.

I like 1 the most, followed by 2.

I like the darker "gun-metal" type color on both of them. I like 1 more because I like the closer knit cross-hatched thread pattern.

I prefer the third, I am not a huge fan of two because the darker color seems odd.
