It's already happening. The codex on humanity, earth and a few others state that human lifespan has increased to about 140 - 150 due to advances in medical technology. Only now are humans able to benefit from the medical advances of the asari, turians, salarians etc. Life expectancy is expected to become a lot longer in the very near future. Can't remember which codex said it, but it was there at least.

I think there would be a limit to how far we could go with genetically changing ourselves. With it, asari lifespan wouldn't be a longshot. Without it, who knows.

Either way, I'd hope to see it mentioned somewhere in ME3. Would be reassuring. ;)

Like I said, the codex states it will be medical breakthroughs and the abolishment of diseases that could make humans grow much older than they do now. There's no mention of genetically changing ourselves. While an Asari lifespan would probably not be reasonable for a good while, the ME lore seems to state humans reaching 250 years of age may actually be common in the future.

Liara is leading the poll by 3 votes @3pm est.

Make that 6:)

With the Reapers defeat is very likely that all the races in the gaçaxy will be able to gain access to their technology, and through it all galatic civilizations will suffer a considerable evolution in their technology. This will help humans life spam to increase even more without genetic engineering.

However I don't see why anyone would opose Shepard using genetic engineering to increase his life spam he would be not only the savior of all organic life but his cybernetics and other changes made during the Lazarus would make him already in violation of all laws regarding cybernetic and genetic augumentation.

I didn't think they changed Shepard's genetic make-up during the Lazarus project. . .?

But with an increased lifespan means a population that doesn't die for quite some time (since to increase lifespan you also inadvertently reverse aging for those alive to some extent). Interesting to think about!

They never explained The Lazarus project so that's open to each player interpretation.

If used correctly the Reaper technology can bring great advancements to the galatic society, that's just one way how Shepard life with Liara can be even longer, and he can see their childrem grow up.

I'd rather see Liara lose to Tali than Miranda.  But I want Liara to win anyway.  :kissing:

Personally, I stopped caring about who "wins" polls. They're meaningless in the long run. Actually; they're pretty much meaningless period.

It's not like there will be an unlockable wedding scene if Liara wins enough fan polls.

As far as I know...

What does the poll prove anyway? That there are more talimancers online than Liara fans. There's a shock:pinched:
Voted on Liara of course but I'm getting a little bored of all these repeating polls. It seems no one can come up with something original any more. Regardless of any poll's outcome, Liara will always be my #1 romance option.

That would be a nice unlock actually.   Not happending, but still would be nice.

I just think that the LI from ME1 should get more interaction with Shepard IF and I do mean IF, Shepard stayed faithful.

Is that fair to the ME2 LI?  No, it is not, but that's the point actually.  We should get something extra for remaining with our ME1 LI.

That is just my view.  And I'm sticking to it.  :P

@Robhuzz
It doesn't prove anything.   Liara is always going to be my first choice in ME when it comes to LI.

If one of Tali's threads on the ME2 board was thousands of pages, then we, Liara fans, are truly in the minority.

Finally gave in and started my third ME1 playthrough about half an hour ago. Just need to get through the introduction-y bits and then I can go to Therum.

I'm getting my new graphics card tomorrow though so I want to give that a go and games that are actually demanding, lol.

Some say Liaramancers though it's used a lot less than Talimancer..

I'm having a hard time staying friendly to Jack as well. I don't kill her in my playthroughs though as it messes up Liara's dialogue in the cabin scene. With Liara being sad that Shepard lost people and Shepard is sad in return even though he couldn't care less about losing Jack :pinched:

"The Protheans are a single species. And yes, they will definitely have a prominent role in #ME3."

Guess Liara's comment about the protheans in LOTSB was foreshadowing. And perhaps Liara's expertise in the Protheans will be important once more?

Hmm. Doesn't roll off the tounge as well as Talimancer,  too many syllables. Biomancer could work.

*Crosses fingers and prays*

Please no prothean squadmate, the cheesyness of such a move would kill the series. Prothean AI would be okay, just no live prothean... please:?

This^

I want to know how a 50,000 year old Prothean is still alive?  Stasis pod maybe?  But it seemed that they only did that with the science team on Ilos and even Vigil had to shut them down to conserve power.

Maybe Vigil didn't give us the information that happened because Vigil didn't know.  I just think it's silly having a 50,000 year old squaddie.

Now another Vigil, would be cool.

Glad I am not the only one who thinks a living prothean is slightly cheesy.

Imagine all the rage over Liara being centric to the plot again.
