Ewww!! Get that thing away from Liara!!! (Sorry, but I hate Jack!! Killed her in my playthrough)

What you are even thinking. Liara was bitten by an äh venomous spider and now Jack has to suck it out of her neck.
But don't worry I keep them in my playthroughs strictly appart, they would never ever like each other. ^_^
It was just one of many tests I made, in which cutscenes the Liara "armor" stays on. It was very funny.

Grunt is keeping them seperated. Don't worry.:)

Guess Liara's comment about the protheans in LOTSB was foreshadowing. And perhaps Liara's expertise in the Protheans will be important once more?

Please no prothean squadmate, the cheesyness of such a move would kill the series. Prothean AI would be okay, just no live prothean... please:?

Glad I am not the only one who thinks a living prothean is slightly cheesy.

Imagine all the rage over Liara being centric to the plot again.

I say let them rage.  Liara has always been a major player within the plot.  Those that rage can't get over that simple fact.

You can't finish ME without Liara.
You can finish ME2 without talking to Liara, but you can't recruit Thane or Samara.  And if Jack dies on the Normandy, you are screwed because you will lose someone during the biotic bubble portion of the SM.  No Samara or Jack = one dead squaddie.

Well, Liara does not have the cypher. Shepard SHOULD be the only one aside from Shiala who could even understand what the prothean dude/gal says. That said, Liara would not get an extra extended role if a prothean was discovered because she simply won't be able to communicate with him/her, neither could anyone else. And a live prothean? Smells like the start of a deus ex machina to me.... I just... I wish priestly never wrote anything to suggest this cringeworthy idea...

You can just use Samara.

And in regards to the prominent role Protheans play in ME3, they may not play a big role directly. I was thinking something along the lines of they left behind yet another legacy to aid future civilizations in their fight against the Reapers. Perhaps something equivalent to the greybox?

^ I always though it was extremly foreshadowing.
Another thing that always made me wonder.... there were Protheans on the Citadel after the Reaper attack and they probably died of thirst, but still there was enough time for the Prothean scientists to hide something on the Citadel. Maybe the left a clue behind, where to find a weapon, a virus or something to defeat the Reapers.

You didn't read everything I wrote either.

I said you could skip Liara in ME2 and still finish the game.  You will not have Samara nor Thane.  No Samara and if Shepard didn't upgrade the Normandy shields(I think that is when Jack dies), Jack dies.  No Samara and No Jack = one dead squaddie.

BioWare gave themselves an easy way out by having Liara mention she thought the previous SB thought the Protheans had more things in store to use against the reapers. BW could have thought of anything, hidden it anywhere on a forgotten planet. I'm fine with it as long as 1. We do not get to see any live protheans. They died 48.000 years ago, let them rest. and 2. No major deus ex machina is used to beat the reapers.

Jack dies if you don't upgrade armor. Which can be easily missed because I was VERY reluctant to talk to Jacob on my femshep and nearly missed out on the whole upgrade.

I would prefer if the Protheans stayed extinct.

I liked in ME1 where in the end they were presented as a long gone parent who sacrificed themselves so their children could have a better future. ME2 might have messed that slightly up, but there is no reason why they should much it even more up.

I agree, it's hightly unlikely they survived, but I would totally like to see a hologram message.
I really would like to see a Prothean and I think Liara would freak out about a hologram. I want to see her excited scientist side in ME3, it would be so worth it.^_^

I don't think BW necessarily messed it up in ME2. I agree ME1 showed the Protheans as a wonderful civilisation that sacrificed the last of their species to give future races a fighting chance.
ME2 showed more or less the apparent cruelty of the Reapers. They (according to EDI) couldn't turn the protheans into a reaper and turned them into slaves. My guess would be that the Reapers did not think the Protheans deserved to become the source of a new Reaper and thus turned them into slaves to make them at least somewhat useful. Add Mordin's line in which he says: "Protheans dead. Collectors just final insult" and it really shows how much the Protheans have sacrificed. They should not return under any circumstance.

On the topic of Liara. What does she say if you do Lotsb before the collector ship? In this case, Shepard does not know about the collector/prothean connection. Will Liara still mention it or does she mention something else instead?

I agree, it's hightly unlikely they survived, but I would totally like to see a hologram message.

So long as it's not a live Prothean, I agree.

Now that I think about it, Jack was the first death on the Normandy.  My bad.  You don't have to talk to anyone in ME2 to get their loyalty mission and once you complete that mission, the upgrade unlocks.  No talking to Jacob needed.  ;)

It's been too long since I first started ME2. :P I always saw Liara when I unlocked Illium, I forgot that if you don't talk to her you don't get Samara or Thane, so yes you're right. My apologies.

To be clear on those upgrades, IIRC, you don't need to talk to any of them if you do their respective loyalty missions, but you still need to go to the upgrade kiosk and activate them.

True, but I was actually referring to those that rage about Liara's 'plot armor' and her being part of the plot in ME3.  Which will probably happen and the ragers will start up again.

That is what I was referring to.  I never do a playthrough and NOT talk to Liara.  I don't get why anyone would do that, but that's their game.  Not mine.

Can someone please answer me this.  I have seen several threads that mention the Deus Ex:Mancia ending.  I've not played it.  I have no plans on playing it, so what is this ending I see many referring to?

Thanks in adavance.

@ Boom_Flames  No worries.

They can whine and scream whatever they want, this won't change the fact that Liara is still the most important character after Shepard in the ME game series.
