I've been working on a new post ME3 arc for the past few weeks.  I know where I want Leia Shepard and Liara's relationship to go.  I have been wondering about characters in the game that we don't know what happened to them.

Mostly it's the Council.  I'm curious on what people think happened to them.  

Did they escape the Citadel when the Reapers showed up?  Or did they get turned in to a reaper creature?  I think after the coup attmept, the Destiny Ascension left to join Hackett.  Humanity needs to replace Undina anyway.  But what about the other species?

I always loved Liara's comment about the Council when you talk to her during her Normandy visit in ME2.  She called them idiots.  And she called Kaidan/Ash short-sighted too.  Liara does know how to call'em.

I always do the Normandy date part of the DLC after the SM.  She says Kaidan/Ash is shorted sighted if you pick the I'm frustrated option.  Even though that is actually the renegade response, and Leia is a paragon, that repsonse fits her so well.  She is tired of dealing with Cerberus, tired of the Council ignoring her, and tired of her close friends(Kaidan) not believing her.

I think the idiot line for the Council is another response, but I forget which one.

The second game the council really bothered me - they were... its like the developers were trying too hard to make us hate 'em to the point the council became weak nonsensical plot related tools. First one I could buy their stupidity and reluctance, the second... no.  Third... rushed and *facepalm* - actually shepard pissed me off in the third in regards to dealing with the council than the council did.

I keep debating what to do with them.  I'm not to that point in my fic yet.  I'm on chapter 3 and Liara and Shepard haven't reunited yet.  

My original arc, the Council is still alive, but then so is Anderson.   Hmmm...<_<

As have I, it bothered me enough that that we did not get to see it that I devoted about half of chapter 2 of my story to try sorting that out.

How far back into the game did you go to sort it out?  I'm curious.  My story picks up with the Normandy flying off what ever planet they are on and headed back to Earth.

Jaye from Uncommen-Bonds
Jane from Shadow-Play(Although this one is written more like the default shepard IMO.)
The Shepard from Pressure.

I suppose Theo's, but I also haven't read enough fanfic. His is literally the only version of Shepard I can recall reading about at the moment.

It is odd in a way that I haven't read much fanfic, as I love to read in general and have a ton of books. I guess what makes me hesitant is that any fanfic is basically an alternate universe, since our own characters are our personal canon. Part of the reason I liked Theo's fics was that it could just have easily have been my Shepard as well. (though certainly not the only reason)

Maybe if I got past that initial hesitancy and read some other fanfics where the characters are radically different than my own, I might enjoy them.

Although not really what you are asking, I do like this custom Shep:

My canon Shep is the default Sheploo, and I'm not a big fan of a large number of the custom Sheps...both male and female. A lot of times the voice doesn't match the face, or the custom Shep either looks like a dork who isn't believable as a commando, or is just flat out ugly. I think whoever this person is did a great job creating a custom Male Shep though. On the off chance that he posts or lurks here, well done.

I'm still kinda peeved at what they did to Udina in ME3, yeah he was a douche but he's an enjoyable douche, they should have explained and handled why he betrayed humanity better then what they gave us. Yunno maybe inserting a paragon interrupt option to shoot the gun out of his hand like you do to Koylat in ME2, killing him in both outcomes wasn't really necessary. Interrogating him after the coup I would have liked an outcome like that. 

In all my playthroughs except one I shot him but having an alternative option like the paragon one I suggested would have been more interesting, well for me anyway.

I have not yet taken care of the post-ending as the story concerns my alternative ending. Half of the second chapter consists of Councilor Tavos recounting, in her mind, my version of the events since the Reapers take control of the Citadel up until Shepard (and in my story Liara, Garrus EDI and Javik) arrives at the Citadel from the transport beam on Earth.

Shepard didn't shoot the gun out of Koylat's hand, Shepard shot the lamp next to him then punched him in the face.  I always let the VS shot Undina, unless Liara kills Ash then I shoot Udina.

I don't think they needed to explain that in any details.  Just talk to him, he flat out says the Council is still treating humanity like a 2nd rate species even though they have a seat on the Council and Shepard has saved them once already.  He is frustrated because he feels they don't care about humanity and that humanity is on their own.  To me, that is the reason he joined with Cerberus.  Plus we don't know what TIM offered him, but TIM wasn't too broke up with Udina getting killed.

@Han Shot First

As a custom male shep player watching videos or pics of any other Shepard than Sheploo or my very own Shepard feels just wrong to me, they just don't look right. As you said most of the custom Shepards don't either look believable or realistic, or then they're just ugly. Of course I'm biased when it comes to my own Shepard and see him as "perfect" looking and believable hero . But I've seen a couple other great custom Sheps too, in addition to my own. When it comes to FemSheps though, pretty much anything goes to me.
