Hey guys, quick check in, just to ask someone that already played the Leviathan DLC, if it has more Liara/Romance content that is worth buying the DLC for, because I am not buying the DLC for more gameplay or even for all the Leviathan story because frankly and honestly, it does not intrest me anymore, only Liara.
Liara Fans: keep your love blue and true!

Leviathan : great gameplay, decent plot and content. Some good squaddie dialogue but some dumb shepard moments. Does nothing for the endings but better than overlord etc. Not as good as LoSB. Took me a leisurely few hours and worth way more of my time/money than expected.
Pretty much this.
Can't say more without spoilers.

Actually there were a few squee-worthy moments.
One particular line...
Liara: "I don't want any tentacled creatures inside your head....except me" <3
^^^^^^^
EDIT....you beat me to it!

Well, I just don't think it's worth it any more given the disappointment with/ambivalence towards the rest. The Liara moments are nice, but they're too few, too far between, and too many of those are botched (e.g. Liara always referring to Shepard as friend on the Citadel).Actually there were a few squee-worthy moments.

Meh, I enjoyed Leviathian and thought it was very stirring. I'm sorry you feel that way.

Well, maybe not *significant*, but there were two short, yet very emotional moments with Liara that I would mark as romance content. Don't know if actual spoilers are allowed yet so I won't go into detail, but yeah, there is romance content, imo.lillitheris wrote...

In short nospoiler, I liked it but it was hardly impressive on LotSB's scale, there was some small moments with Liara which I really liked but nothing spectacular like the beam-run scene or similar.
Small Non-Liara related ending Spoiler.
They did not ruin the Reapers for as much as I feared they might do, but anything that involves or even mentions the starbrat is wasted effort in my book. I think I will just ignore most of what we found out in my own headcanon.
End of spoiler
Also I am starting to get seriously annoyed with the fact that we are not allowed to bring our companions with us to the climax, it was bad enough not having Liara with me to the Citadel and the end of the game and now she can come with me at the end of this DLC either
Well on the bright side it finally gave me the inspirational push I needed to continue writting

Or maybe I’m misreading? I’m just really tired of the “you just don’t get it, it’s deep and stuff” ‘argument’.

Ut-oh, I think she heard us.

I don't see how it was supossed to be self-evident either, but what really annoys me is that we even get explained this stuff in the first place.lillitheris wrote...
@Mumba1511: I gotta say I find it vaguely insulting that you think this explanation of the Reapers is somehow self-evident and, above all, in line with how they were portrayed in ME and ME2…
the Reapers seemed so much more menacing, evil and interesting when we did not have a precusor race from which which they were designed and not a *** little AI-kid-thingy that constructed them.
One of the things that really made them so great for me was that they were mysterious and unknowable. If they had continued to be just enigmatic and seemingly incomprihensable monsters they would have been so much more intimidating and interesting opponents.

Besides that though, the DLC is well worth it. The haters can go rot for all I care, because all they care about is whether it affects the endings. I will say however, that I would have liked to have seen a bit more payoff in the end battle, but I won't go into it further to not spoil it.
All in all, a great ride with some great banter from the crew.

On one hand I liked most of what we got - story, dialogues, combat, exploration of the citadel lab and mining facility, all of it I really enjoyed. Against all expectations I even didn't hate the new bits of exposition on the origin of the Reapers. And at about three hours to complete at my leisurely pace I think it's actually reasonably good value (and you get some new weapons and mods as well).
But on the other hand there is one issue that I just hate beyond words...
SPOILERS begin here, highlight to read (if this even works):
... the introduction of Leviathans into the current-day galaxy. Seriously, what possible good can come out of having these powerful egomaniacal tyrants around? They're like mini-Reapers with an attitude that makes the Protheans seem like pacifistic hippies. Forget worries about the Krogan or the Rachni or the uplifted Yahg, the Leviathans are the single biggest threat to a post-Reaper-war galaxy - and they get introduced in some DLC 6 months after the conclusion of the ME trilogy; Bioware sure are great at retroactively reducing previously difficult moral decisions to fu*k all. And maybe worst of all, no-one in the game seems to give the slightest bit of sh*t about the threat they represent
Personally, I have yet to make up my mind whether to just ignore Leviathans as non-canon or to headcanon nuking Desponia off the galaxy map the minute the Red Wave fries the Reapers. All I know is that menace can not, under any circumstances, be allowed to survive.
END OF SPOILERS
And just to end by bringing this back on topic of Liara... meh, frankly I hoped for more. Basically all we got were the few humorous lines that were known since the EC leak and a couple somewhat touching Shepard, be careful!/are you ok? moments.
At least she has plenty of story-related things to say which means plenty of screen-time and that means plenty of new screenshots

These two aren't exactly great, but during the first playthrough I'm not really focusing on taking good screenshots

One thing that occoured to me while playing was that I could not find the other line we had reavealed beforehand anywhere in the DLC, the one where she says something along the lines of
Liara: "what is is with you and saving archeologists? if you are going to help her take down the Shadow Broker I am going to be jaelous... and a bit worried"
Has any of you guys heard it in-game or do you think that they has cut it from the DLC?
Even if they were not much I thought those were really lovely thoughfrudi wrote...
