Looks like the Leviathian DLC fixes the glitch where Liara doesn't recognize Lotsb reunion the first time you talk to her on the Normandy.

wow, really??????? If true this is great news, will check this out later

No it isn't. The LotSB flag bug is a bug. You don't charge people for fixing bug much like you don't charge them to re-make a burger if it's still frozen.

They're are probably testing a fix in the DLC, which is odd, mind you.

@moreman
you're welcome and I look forward to seeing some pics.

Re:DLc patches

Didn't one of the Devs say there wouldn't be a patch in the DLC, and suddenly there was?(At least for PS3 there was a title update.)

If Bioware were to do another character driven DLC for Mass Effect, Jack or Miranda would be my bet for the focus. Jack got a redesign for ME3, which makes me wonder if they didn't originally have more planned for her beyond a short cameo. As for Miranda, after Jacob she was most likely to survive the suicide mission. Unlike Jacob, she has a large fanbase.

Miranda has a high survival rate in ME2, but she dies pretty easily in ME3. I think it's save to assume that many players (if they don't have earlier saves) would be forced to start a new ME3 playthrough to play a Miranda DLC...and I am not sure if new players could even save her on Horizon. That makes a Miranda DLC rather unlikely, imo. Jack has a similar problem (Grissom Academy was a timed mission, IIRC).

Isn't Jack dead in ME3 if you start a newgame in ME3?

Yes...I think only Garrus, Tali, Miranda, Jacob and Mordin appear if you start a new game.

Goddamnit.

All the ending had to be - ALL IT HAD TO BE - was Shepard and Liara on beach, perhaps with other crew members, watching lots of little blue children play in the sand.

It's pathetically soppy, but it'd be so easy to write and it would have saved me a lot of heartache.

Dying and leaving her behind, fiction or not, is the first part in a game ever that has made me tear up, and I feel like a massive wuss because of it.

Couldn't I just have gotten my generic happy ending?

Thats nothing. Just the other day when i was in a Liara hate thread, someone said that he hates Liara, because she is an asari.

Reminds me of this =]

"Renowned for their wisdom and foresight, the asari, by all accepted accounts, were the first species after the Prothean extinction to achieve interstellar flight. They were also the first to discover the Citadel, and they were a founding member species of the Council. The asari controlled more territory and wielded more influence than any other race.

Anderson knew all these facts, yet he often found it difficult to reconcile their dominant role in galactic politics with the enthralling performance of an asari on the stage. He knew the failure was his: a product of his human biases and ill-conceived expectations. It was stupid to judge an entire species on the basis of an individual. But it went deeper than an impression formed by watching a few dancers: the asari looked female, so they were victims of stereotypical human anti-matriarchal tendencies.

At least he was aware of his prejudice, and he did his best to fight against it. Unfortunately he knew there were plenty of other humans who felt the same way and were more than willing to give in to their biases. Just further proof that they still had a lot to learn about the rest of the galaxy."

Not artistic enough.

Then again, there's always headcanon/AU-ficcing for therapy purposes.

Also, nothing in it surprised me, it was basically exactly what I was expecting.

It actually surprised me how I already nailed the plot before release.

I'm also really getting tired of them shoving new characters at us and expecting us to really care about and get attached to them, instead of fleshing out the characters we are already invested in further. I just didn't care about Ann.

I would have loved to see Leviathan pick the LI (Liara in this case) from Shepard's brain to be used for talking instead of the random characters that I didn't really care about. Would've been so great, even tho a bit creepy but that's not necessarily a bad thing. If Shepard has no LI, then take the squadmate with the most social-points.

I'm out of hope, here.

Hey, at least you got some EMS.

First time posting in the Liara thread.
She was my original LI in ME1, I restarted ME2 when LotSB allowed that to continue, and stuck with her in ME3.
Her character was very dynamic over the course of the 3 games, but still central and faithful to who she is.
Love Liara. Def one of my faves, if not #1 fave.

Just finished reading the full comic for Homeworld's #4. Unlike the Tali's and Garrus', this is actually an original story then just a recap of what we've already been told. However, like all 4 of them, this feels like a rushed comic that doesn't have much meat to it. The story is pretty much Liara looking into archives on Thessia and the Hanar homeworld, and getting attacked by one phantom. Then talks to TIM, tells him to screw off, and goes to Mars. Which isn't that much of a story. It doesn't help that characters are introduced that are never seen again. Example, Liara befriends "another" drell, that looks and acts exactly like Feron, to the point that it might as well be Feron (it isn't Feron though). This character is never heard from again in the lore. Same with Liara's asari friend on Thessia.

Other issues I have is, as I said before, Liara lack of eyebrows for majority of the comic (magically sometimes), TIM apparently having cameras in the SB base, and the Hammerhead as an underwater ship that's now being shared by alien races. Another possible issue is Liara expressing how she sometimes wants to return home to Thessia. Which I'm not sure if that jells, since she expressed how she prefers to get away from people and big places.

Artwork is ok. Though when they're just tracing 3D character models, what do you expect? Sometimes it looks cool, while other times it looks muddy and dark. Too many blacks and outlines.

Overall, it's ok. I liked that it's more of an original story then a recap. However, there's not much to it's story. It's too bare bones. Especially when all Liara fights is one phantom. Compare that to Redemption, where she fought all kinds of people with her bare hands.

Welcome to the thread!

@TMA LIVE: Hmm, might just have to do what I usually do with these comics and look up the summary on the Mass Effect wiki.

Leviathan DLC was really fun, but I felt that being capable of completing it in less than 2 and 1/2 hours is kind of unacceptable. Would have liked the option of a goodbye kiss befor the dive as well, Shepard ignores Liara's feelings too often for my liking.

Had about WW1 poems in school today and heard one that reminded me of Liara at the end of the EC.

- Perhaps (by Vera Brittain)
Perhaps some day the sun will shine again,
And I shall see that still the skies are blue,
And feel once more I do not live in vain,
Although bereft of You.

Perhaps the golden meadows at my feet
Will make the sunny hours of spring seem gay,
And I shall find the white May-blossoms sweet,
Though You have passed away.

Perhaps the summer woods will shimmer bright,
And crimson roses once again be fair,
And autumn harvest fields a rich delight,
Although You are not there.

Perhaps some day I shall not shrink in pain
To see the passing of the dying year,
And listen to Christmas songs again,
Although You cannot hear.'

But though kind Time may many joys renew,
There is one greatest joy I shall not know
Again, because my heart for loss of You
Was broken, long ago.

I am usually not one for poetry, but I really liked this one. Just needed to get that off my chest.

Yeah, I agree. The worry in her voice and features were enough for me. Just saying.

I'm assuming you chose Synthesis or Control?

If you want the happy ending for Shep and Liara, choose High EMS Destroy. You won't get a cutscene or artwork depicting their post-war life together, but Shep's survival and a reunion is heavily implied. The rest can be filled in by head canon.

Yeah, I agree.

I'd be fine with a hug or something when he/she gets back to the surface though. You can never have enough of those.
