Doesn't the AI entity (reference) make it rather clear that it isn't Shepard?
Regardless, I find the idea (upload your brain to be with your partner forever) rather more creepy and terrifying than romantic.
Yeah, I think it's made abundantly clear that the AI created in control ending is not Shepard, it is merely an AI based on Shepard. That's why I will never trust it enough to actually consider picking control, especially with how hard the previous AI construct (Starchild) tried to convince us that synthetics (including himself and potential ShepAI) just fundamentally don't understand organics.
I've also always been against the idea of any kind of relationship between ShepAI and Liara (or any LI for that matter). I do kind of understand the romantic appeal of it, but to me it's not just creepy but also unfair and cruel to Liara. Better to let her believe her Shepard is completely gone; well, she actually is gone, the fact that ShepAI is actually an AI construct, possibly altered in unpredictable ways, makes the whole romance idea even more creepy.
[I'm also allergic to life extension treatment for Shepard - maybe because the implication is that the writer doesn't think that Liara is worth perusing if you can't grow old together?]
I don't understand this one though... why does not growing old together matter? I honestly don't see how the difference in lifespan would devalue their relationship in any way.
