Hum, I think Sheploo is handsome. Default ME1 and 2 FemShep however... just have to make a custom so she'll look nice.

Its because Sheploo looks like her(Yuqi's) Brother in real life, SO there are some awkward feelings, expecially around romance scenes for her

Hey, everyone.  *waves*.  Thanks for the welcomes.  Between this and the Femshep thread, it's nice to find that there are still a few places in the fandom where everyone is friendly and gets along.     I like the way you all police yourselves in heading off arguments and touchy subjects before they can really get nasty, unlike some other threads that don't need to be named...

LOL, totally agree, but it's not like it's my fault!  One of the comments you hear over and over about Femshep is that it'd have been nice if they'd made her a little more cut and carrying a few more pounds of muscle.  More like a track&field athlete than a model.  But aside from her skinny forearms, that moment makes for a really sweet picture...

Ya, I'm inclined to think that if it exists, you know there's going to be that one creepy person who makes a sexual pairing of the two. Just recently I saw some artwork(unintentionally!), of femshep being raped by batarians, and another where she's being raped by cannibals and brutes. 

The internet is just f**ked up, that's all I got to say.

Sometimes I think the internet should require: a licence,proof of I.D, and a mental health check. I mean after seeing baby-in-a-blender, I was forever scarred.

I'm proud to say, that the Liara support thread is one of the few character threads to have the kindness and humility, that the others sometimes lack. One of the reasons why I love coming here all the time, other than to talk about about my favourite blue, is to be around people who are actually thoughtful, generous, and good hearted.

I like it in this thread because for the most part we don't character bash.

I've poked my head into some of the other threads (not saying which ones), and sometimes I get the impression they do more Liara bashing than supporting the character the thread was made for. :/

I do, too, but I don't get why Liara is singled out.  Does Garrus get the same sort of abuse?  If he does I haven't heard it--he seems almost universally beloved--and over the 3 games he gets even more screentime than Liara.  (Not sure if Tali does, too, since she's not recruited until the second half of both 2 and 3).

I'd question why the hatred is directed at the character at all, rather than the writers and devs who make the decisions, but that'd be using logic, and of course internet haters and logic are usually unmixy things...

I've never seen any hatred against Garrus. Pretty sure he's universally loved, by males AND females.
I haven't seen a hell of a lot against Tali, either. A bit, but nothing too inflammatory.

Possibly because of LotSB, which gives her even more of the spotlight?
And then of course there's the option of simply hating things because they're popular?

Most of the Liara hate I've seen is due to her 'plot armor,' which isn't even the correct use of the term. 

I've seen some hate towards pretty much everybody, save maybe Mordin and Wrex. I'm pretty sure there's even a group dedicated to the hatred of Tali out there somewhere.

Me, I love pretty much everybody, with the exception of a...select few.

Mordin and Wrex are definitely loved unanimously, but a Tali hate group!? No way!
I wonder if they ignore the paragon interrupt on her LM.. there's no way.. that's just scummy.

Yeah, this has especially bugged me in those threads supporting an ME2 squadmate DLC, where instead of supporting ME2 squadmate DLC it's more repetitive 'Liara is a writer's pet1!!11!!'  or 'kill Liara!11!!!' style bashing.
