I've been in lurking mode recently.

As for this VA talk, I have to say that even though I've never heard him anywhere else, Keith David takes the cake for me as Anderson. Splendid performance throughout the games.

I really, really wish they hadn't cut the final dialogue between him and Shepard, because that was probably one of the most beautifully done and masterfully voiced segments in Mass Effect.

Long time since i've been to this thread and i am glad to see that it hasn't changed since the last time i was on it.

On the other hand, everytime I hear Ali Hillis talking normally I don't hear Liara as good too... go figure.

For me there are too many voice actors i like, to list them all. Though some of my favorites are:

Laura Bailey
: Just love her voice especially as the sociopathic leader of the Saints in Saints Row 3.
Troy Baker: He's a funny guy and a likeable voice actor, and while he mostly play a-holes, i like him more when he plays one of the heroes.
Ali Hillis:
I've literally fallen in love with her voice since the first Mass Effect, though i kinda prefer her Lightning voice. As she sounds like a pissed off Liara.
Jennifer Hale: Love her voice both as Shepard as well as all her other roles. Hell i even watched Disney's Cinderella 2, just because she voiced Cinderella in it:pinched:. That is how much i love her. I especially like her voice as Trishka in Bulletstorm, it is practically a more foul mouthed younger version of Shepard.

Other voice actors i like include Steve Blum (of course), Nolan North, Grey Delisle, Greg Ellis and well mostly every prolific voice actor in the biz. :D

Phew this got alot longer than i intended. Though i hope it shows how much i like voice actors, and appreciate their hard work, in order for us to be entertained:)

Agreed, the "you would have made a great parent" especially for me.

The only thing about that cut Anderson conversation is it would kind of blow to hear all that, and then have Shepard potentially die five minutes later. :/

If they were to put it back in, I think they'd have to add a reunion with it.

Yeah, one more reason they probably had to cut it from the game...

Seriously, hearing that talk with Anderson, and then actually seeing what they talked about - having a family and settling down - would have been so satisfying, after leaving hopeful about it after the talk itself.

It would have been an even bigger punch in the gut to hear it talked about but not materialized.

*Looking around at the sudden FTL action in this thread* Liara is most pleased with your contribution boys and girls!:D

Hey, everyone.  *waves*.  Thanks for the welcomes.  Between this and the Femshep thread, it's nice to find that there are still a few places in the fandom where everyone is friendly and gets along.  :)   I like the way you all police yourselves in heading off arguments and touchy subjects before they can really get nasty, unlike some other threads that don't need to be named...

Welcome to the Liara thread. Good picture except that Femsheps arms looks small but other than that good picture.

LOL, totally agree, but it's not like it's my fault!  One of the comments you hear over and over about Femshep is that it'd have been nice if they'd made her a little more cut and carrying a few more pounds of muscle.  More like a track&field athlete than a model.  But aside from her skinny forearms, that moment makes for a really sweet picture...

I like this human!B) And true I think a touch of the Asari' natural diplomacy and peaceful ways have rubbed off on us folk here, we're quite calm and civil most of the time.;) And I said it before and I'll say it again I think Femshep should have been more toned and cut than what we got in game, a body similar to an Olympian or a kickboxer, or like any highly trained soldier really.<_<

Ezlo86 wrote...

Since we're on the topic (sorta) what's your favorite videogame voice actor/tress?

I like Nolan North a lot. He was in pretty much every single game I played last year.

Good question hmm well I love the Metal Gear Solid series so David Hayter as Snake awesome voice.:D
Ali Hillis and Jennifer Hale for obvious reasons their voices just blend and bounce off one another beautifully.^_^Jen is a chameleon in her work, she can voice anything.B)

Claudia Black- Aethyta and Morrigan two of my favourite Bioware characters ever, plus she does a great job as Admiral Xen too^_^

Honourable mentions to Tricia Helfer as EDI, Carrie-Anne Moss as Aria, Courtenay Taylor as Jack,  Keith David as Anderson, Kimberly Brooks as Ashley and of course Martin Sheen's terrific turn as the Illusive Man.:)

Wow I love this new piece by Ma-rin her stuff is brill! Scars hell yes for Shep, she put her body through the fire enough times, she's bound to carry a few reminders of past battles. I really miss not having the scars of ME1 on my Shep. Although my alternative Renegon Femshep her face is certainly more battle-hardened compared to my canon Paragon Shep!

I have nothing against seeing scars on Shepard (well extensive scarring on the face perhaps, glowing ones especially), I just don't care for it on Liara. Somewhat hypocritical perhaps, but that is how I feel about it.

Yup, although I'd like to think Liara would be a bit less reckless and gung-ho than Shep on the battlefield, yunno graceful asari and all that!:P She'd avoid stressful injuries when she can but I'd like to think she'd have an odd scar here and there, seems more realistic being a member of Shep's crew.;)

Agreed. Some people are proud of the scars they bear. (like me)B)

Which is one of the reasons I hate the Lazerus project. Give me the ME1 scars back!

I think he was actually referring to a pic I tried and failed to post properly, cuz I couldn't get the html right.  It wasn't showing the pic, just the link.  It was late, my brain wasn't 100%, and I finally gave up.

Giving it one more shot:

I've got eleven on my body, most from near death experiences. I'm pretty lucky, well everyone keeps saying that I am.
Weirdly enough, one of the accidents is the reason I play mass effect.

Ouch.

The only seriously bad thing to ever happen to me was a rather nasty car crash a few months back; broke my wrist and my ankle, but my brother got it far worse than me, unfortunately.

@ mavqt Glad to hear you came out ok from those accidents:) My brother when he was younger had a horrific motor bike accident, he's lucky he can still walk today. You're pretty vulnerable on a bike at least in a car you can absorb some of the impact.

I'll quickly list the injuries from that one crash.
Broke my right femur in 3 places. Now with metal pins.150 staples held the skin together afterwards.
Broken wrist
Dislocated shoulder
Internal bleeding
Memory loss and a weird change in my prefered food. Used to hate chocolate now like it. The girlfriend wasn't happy I forgot who she was, probably why she left, I did remember her after a few days.
Loads of lacerations.
Nerve damage (Can't feel the fingers on my left hand.)
dislocated knee.

I'm all better now, although my leg plays up from time to time.

Anyway, back to our favourite blue lady.
