Well i too don't have a problem with the MSheps both custom and default. I just have a problem with MShep zealots who thankfully do not visit this thread.

And i too started out playing as FShep, so for me Liara with anyone else than FShep just looks wrong to me. The same goes for my FShep.

I'm going to keep looking for MSheps however, because although there's nothing with Fshep fics, the immersion is affected a bit when the author starts talking about say.. Shepard's panties. Because my Shepard? Doesn't wear panties.

Yeah i know and i dislike both sides equally, and their argument for why one is better than the other. Some people just can't understand that others do not have the same preferences than them, and then they try to force it on others, which never wroks
It's hard to come by a place here where instant flame wars aren't started.

Surprisingly, yes (ManShep: 570, FemShep: 1392). Maybe that's because there is no "obvious" slash pairing (no offence, but Kaidan is widely considered to be a bit boring)?

Unsurprisingly yes, largely because of the creator sex imbalance. “Why isn’t there more X? Because you’ve not created any,” to summarize.

Although I do think that many of the stories are perfectly readable regardless of your preference. I like Theodoro’s, for example—his MShep isn’t really a problem, my main issue is actually that our views on the asari culture and such are fairly divergent. I think the ‘other stuff’ is more likely to feel off.

Yes, and he is also annoying. But hay, straight girls ship fshepxliara too, so I don't know.. 

I'm 99% convinced the V.A's know fshepxliara is more popular too(I mean  those two tend to play it up a bit).

I've been playing that game for 5 years, and tonight was the first time I've heard it. Makes me wonder how much else I've missed.
