I can't get myself to do anything other than Destroy either. 

I chose Synthesis once just to see EDI and Liara hug though, I'll admit.

Personally my biggest problem with Synthesis is that it makes Liara's eyes green.

My canon Shep chose synthesis, second-canon chose control and third-canon chose high-EMS destroy. Destroyer is having party with Garrus and adopting Krogan babies and such, while this helps the other Shepa reunite with Liara:

Still, the most outrageous thing about Synthesis is that it makes Liara's eyes green. That's reason enough for me not to choose it.

I did slip through one of each type but other than that i always chose High-EMS Destroy and that's also my canon.  As for the Liara .gif  all i can say is that i know how you feel Frudi, my first playthrough i went in with no knowledge of how the endings were going to play out and i was already crying by the time the Anderson talk was over, than starkid came and i went into ????huh????  mode and then i destroyed that tube and started balling over that .gif knowing that this time Shepard was probably gone for good.  and then i got that breath scene after everything and i was kind of ok.  then it dawned on me how ****ty that starbrat is and i kinda pretended it didn't exist for awhile now i have to go edit a bunch of little things out of my fics to make sure they fall in line with canon like i think i mention Anderson being alive in one of the first ones i did

Yeah, sorry about that, but I just can't accept any other endings at the moment.

Sometimes someone in another thread will mention that Shepard is dead, and I just wanna smack them around and say, "No! No they aren't!" I don't, because everyone has different opinions, but I want to.

I'm with you two. Though at first I chose Destroy mostly because I figured that was what Shep came all that way to do, and I wasn't going to back out at the last GD minute. Plus, TIM wanted me to pick Control, and he was under Reaper control himself, so really the Reapers wanted me to pick Control??? <_<

Anyway, my 'canon' ending has to be Destroy so I can sleep at night. Sorry EDI, it was a good run.

I reloaded and did each ending a few times, trying to find one that hurt least. As a paragon, I was trying to not pick destroy, as that seemed like the most obviously renegade choice.
But in practice, it also seems like the best one, but not just because Shepard lives.

So, I'm somewhat lucky in that regard - my favourite ending also has Shepard live.

Definitely feel bad for Joker though, but EDI would've understood, and she's a damned hero.

EMS... back then I hadn't played any MP yet, so my EMS was only around 3700.

Yup.  Happened to me too.  There was a time, you needed 5000EMS to get the ''survive'' ending.  You couldnt get it. 4850 was as high as you could go without MP.  So...my first and only playthrough - I also got EMS destroy.   But no breather scene so - my canon shep died thanks to biowares desperate desire for me to play laggy ass'd MP on a 28k connection in the middle of the north.

I actually like the idea of Control the most, but I just wouldn't trust my Shepard to control the Reaper fleet. I've always headcanon'd Liara was the only reason he was a paragon, and without her to keep him grounded I imagine my Shepard would go in over his head with all his new power, go crazy and kill everybody. So...

Good, because if you guys were picking destroy with deliberately low EMS to get Shepard killed.. I.. I don't know.

Yeah, 'power corrupts, absolute power corrupts absolutely.' I have to wonder how long it'd be before Shepard starts deciding which races are too dangerous to let live, etc. and eventually the logic would become full circle and the cycles would start again.

Wont that be fun.  Or become so detached and disgusted (can a reaper feel disgust? or maybe overhwhelmed by illogical-ness of organics and its own agenda to protect life.. that it simply abandons the galaxy forever)  Or maybe a switch is thrown and you go back to reaping, as you said.  Reaping sounds fun, all that...melting people to procreate (sounds way funner than melding with Liara, don't know what your missing..), and husk research and development - i had a volus/vorcha hybrid I wanted to try... , oh! and banshee swimsuit competitions every friday..!

As for synthesis...should make a hate/troll thread for it and name it "Synthesis would've made a bad parent" ... *grins jokingly*

I chose Synthesis the first time, completely by accident.  I wasn't really paying real close attention to the kid's yapping, cuz I was waiting for him to hurry up and give me the good option (one had to be coming, right?... right?), and so I didn't notice the quick clips of Anderson shooting the tube, or TIM grabbing the hand-holdy thingies, and I didn't realize that's how we were supposed to make our choice.  I was looking for the dialogue option that said, "Yes, 'Destroy', please," but it never came, the cutscene ended, and suddenly Shepard's standing there with this long path stretching out straight in front of her and glowy light at the end.  Like an idiot, I didn't even look around, and just started walking, figuring, "Okay, I'll get to the light, and it'll ask me for my choice down there."

Oops. 

But every time since then has been high-EMS Destroy.

If you have a DVD recorder, you can get decent screenshots.  Unplug the HDMI cable and plug the RCA cables into your console, then run it thru the DVD-R input on the TV, recording as you go, then replaying and capping on your PC.  The quality still isn't outstanding, you'll go thru a lot of blank DVDs (pause the recording during combat!), and it's quite an adjustment to go from playing in 1080 down to 480, but it's still a lot better than nothing.

Yep. I don't think I'd even trust my full out Paragon FemShep with Control, there was just something...fishy about the speech for me. 

Hmm, I remember I wrote up a plot for a fic about this once. Something like the Shepard AI construct begins to feel lonely despite its power, and goes batsh** crazy from having so much and so little at the same time. I don't remember what I was going to do after that, but I imagine I was considering something cliche as hell like the construct learning to love again...

Anyway, back on topic...
