Speaking of endings, does anyone here ever pick an ending other than high-EMS destroy?
Because if you do, I don't know how you do it. That would take strength that is far beyond me.
The first ending I picked was Control, go me. I have a hard time picking anything, other than control. I think it makes the 'no matter what happens' speech much more heartwrenchingly powerful, or I'm a sucker for tragic endings..

Besides, after all that pain Jane went through. She deserves peace.
I consider her heroic death liberating, not a punishment...

Not because I think that green eyes are cool, but because the breathing
scene was a lazy attempt at doing a "happy ending". Beacon of hope my

This one understands. My views exactly. If the breath scene was better handled I'd be more inclined towards destroy. It was lame. :|

Personally, I don't usually mind a sad ending, I was actually expecting one as I was playing ME3. And I think I would have accepted it, provided it was executed properly.
But after the horror that we got and how unimaginably sh*tty it made me feel for so long afterwards... screw that, give me my happy ending with them blue babies

I regret listening to a sad freaking piano cover while looking at this.
My feels have been wounded.
To make me feel better, I'm giving myself a happy Liara.

Meh, Shepard's actions are too passive in synthesis. Control is the only good one in that regard.

I chose Destroy, as I always do. Because I feel that is the only real way to stop the Reapers. I'm not looking to start an argument or anything, and no offense if you choose differently than I do. I just feel that you can't fully control what you don't fully understand. Also, I don't want to force anything on anyone, so it is not my place to force synthesis on those who do not want it. Again, those are just my opinions; this is one of the more civil threads on the BSN, and I'd like to keep it that way. For the record though, I felt guilty that Legion sacrificed himself for nothing, and EDI died, and what ultimately happened to the Geth. But, this is war, and like all armed conflicts, both fictional and non-fictional, there will be casualties. If I were Shepard, I would honor them, the same as I would honor a soldier who died in battle.
The ending was easier to swallow this time around. My first playthrough, I played through it vanilla, and with the EC, except my FemShep romanced Traynor. (I've got a thing for brown eyed brunettes, and women with a British accent, so yeah....) I admit though, I did get misty eyed more than once this time around. When Thane prayed for my femshep before he died, that did it. When Legion sacrificed himself, that did it. Seeing Liara pause for a moment, and smile, after looking down at the plaque with Shepard's name on it, that did it. The next scene really did it, though. It was the breath scene. (My EMS was 3800 something.) I don't know why, but when I saw the rubble, I lost it. I guess I'm just a sap for a happy ending, even if it's only implied and I have to imagine it. Still though, I considered it, mission accomplished, and took a couple celebratory draws off the bottle of Jameson. Now I want to go through ME 1 and romance Liara the proper way, and maybe another playthrough of ME 2, just for fun.
Sorry to get so off topic. I just felt like sharing my most recent experience. Especially with fellow Liara fans.
Headcanon time, and to get this post slightly back on topic.
A week after the Battle of London.

Six months after the Battle of London. (Thanks Frudi. I kinda stole this from you.

And finally, just for s**ts and grins. And because I've been toying with the idea of a Daniel Craig, and Samuel L. Jackson inspired MaleSheps, who will more than likely romance Liara. Even though my FemShep is my canon Shepard.

Well, my second playthrough was slightly easier than I thought it would be. Probably because I knew what was coming. (Regardless, I've still got half a bottle of Jameson. I might save that for another playthrough, haha.) Liara's gift was still as touching as the first time I saw it, maybe a little more so, considering I actually romanced her this time. I have to give credit to Bioware, they know how to tug at the heartstrings.

Agree with your views on destroy, plus I have a few more.
Also with the scenes that made us sad...

I think her actions are meant to symbolize peace in synthesis, being at rest etc etc. But yes, control seemed to be the most tragic to me.

Always wanted to Destroy, but couldn't bring myself to sacrafice all my geth buddies, who Legion synthesized himself to save, and sacrafice EDI too... . End up doing Synthesis, and it felt a little like control, and I didn't quite believe the Reapers would all of a sudden collectively start playing nice and that's it, nothing else will ever change their minds about their solution working or not. And all the glowing green bits looked kind of weird. Not to mention the now docile Husks and what they're going to do with their new lives...
Slowly working on a New+ Game, plan on going high EMS Destroy.

Favourite Liara Gif time.
Also I just watched this. The above GIF+Time from the Inception soundtrack=kick to the feels.
Just popped back into the thread, damn you Mavqt the feels from the last few pages reliving that moment again!

However I just read Rae's final installment to her Can Wait series so I'm feeling alot better now, fanfiction easies the pain.
Therefore after getting over the initial anger, confusion and disappointment that I witnessed afterwards I thought nah I probably will get something different if I really listen to what he tells me, I then choose destroy with my not high enough to live EMS, you guessed it the same tired story with pretty red this time!<_< My Shep she still died and seeing that scene of Liara in my Shep's dying moments... I need a hug right now.
This forced me into playing multiplayer to get the ending I believe my Shep deserved, and thanks to the EC I can accept the end for what it is somewhat, it's not perfect but I can headcannon the rest and fanfiction of course helps alot.
@Moreeman also where the hell are my manners happy late birthday buddy!
